Spatacular Nails & More

I really like this place all techs do a great job. Have great hours and availability. I have been a regular for over a year now. However, lately there has been a change in front desk staff and all of a sudden I am getting canceled frequently. No attempt to accommodate. I am not a difficult client, easy going. I understand life happens and changes need to be made, in the past when this occurred I would reschedule when they needed it because they would have options for me. They actually tried to make it right. Not anymore. Disappointing. Searching Unilocal for new salon that has great techs like this one with convenient hours for working women and reliable?

My experience was horrible. I did my hair and it was terrible. When I left my hair was still wet and my hair frieze. While I was doing my hair the stylist was having racist comments with another person. Her name is Noris. She also works at Doral salon. Never again!

I’ve been coming here regularly since they opened several years ago. Yes, it’s loud and the receptionists are pretty rude. I’ve learned to just kill them with kindness over the years, because it’s worth it. The nail techs are just that good. I’ve tried other places and always come back here. It’s surprisingly difficult to find a good nail tech in this city, who will cut your cuticles without cutting your fingers and will actually file/​paint your nails the way you want. You can literally go with any nail tech that works here and have a great manicure/​pedicure.
The place is very clean; all the tools are sterilized. The hours are fantastic, especially for working women who can only come late in the evenings, and you really can’t beat the price.
I know that not everyone has a great experience here, but you really need to pick your battles. I’ll happily deal with a little noise and a rude receptionist to get an amazing manicure and pedicure at a great price at a time that accommodates my schedule. I’ve also never had a problem making an appointment here or walking in last minute. Maybe I’ve been just been lucky for the past serval years.

I’ve been coming here for years now. While I agree that the customer service offered by the front desk is anything but service, and that it’s not the snazziest place in Miami, the majority of the girls do a very good job. I’m probably about as picky as they come & Dyana never lets me down. Edge to edge even polish (nothing makes me more bananas than when a nail tech avoids getting to the edge in an effort to avoid having to clean the extra polish that gets around ur finger) & super clean cuticles! They’re instruments are sanitized & they wear cloves. It can definitely be a challenge to get an appointment last minute so if you’re someone who’s trying to run in b/​c last minute Friday night plans came up, this is not the spot for you. It can get chattery sometimes but nothing crazy. I’ve most certainly experienced worse (& it’s a Spanish nail salon let’s be realistic, besides, when was the last time you worked in silence all day). All in all, if you can schedule an appointment in advance & can handle the front desk for the solid 2 min you have to deal with her, mani/​pedi is totally worth it.

Booked an appointment for mani/​pedi. Upon arrival I told the nail tech, if we could start with the pedicure since I had shellac on my hands. She then informed me there was a $ 10 fee to remove the shellac. In my 2 years of wearing shellac, I’ve never heard, nor walked into a salon where they charge you to remove it, when you’re getting a manicure and pedicure.
It’d be a different story if I walked in saying I just wanted to remove the shellac, without any other services, then I could understand the charge.
I walked out, and went over to Pinkies in sunset Place. There was no charge to remove the shellac, and I got an awesome mani/​pedi there. They were much nicer, efficient, and fast.
I do not recommend this salon.

This is basically the best nail salon ever. Close to home, natural manicure looks like gel polish, and sorry but I like that they’re hispanic because I can communicate better. Now, the technicians are all amazing, it may look like a mess in the process but in the end you get a perfect result. What’s really just plain annoying is the reception. Calling for an appt is horrible you are always placed on hold. Then even making an appt for that WEEK is a mission. They are always packed. The first time I went I was sat in a pedicure chair while the girl did my MANICURE. I was in good spirits that day however and mostly just felt bad that she had to stand. Later a manicure chair opened up and the rest was wonderful. $ 13 for a mani and it really lasts awhile. I just never go because of how big a headache it is to make an appt. :(

I only started going here because I follow my favorite nail technician wherever she goes. The big problem — which I agree with most of the reviews — is the front desk customer service. It’s hard to get an appointment and on several occasions they have made the appointment with the wrong person and then get an attitude with me because they made the mistake. They overbook appointments so we have to wait in line for tables or chairs for the pedicures. I understand it’s a business but you have to think about customer service first! If not, people will go to one of the many other nail salons in Miami.

Horrible customer service over the phone and by the front desk person. You can’t understand the business name when they answer and most times, they put you on hold for many minutes. The nail technician made me wait in the pedi chair for 10 minutes (with no water in the foot bath and no towel under my feet) while she did something in the back. I almost walked out but I was desperate. The pedi itself was not very enjoyable. The lady kept addressing me in Spanish and was annoyed when I asked her to speak English. This location is so convenient for me but they disappoint every time from start to finish. Yes, they have many color choices for polish as stated in other reviews but that doesn’t cut it. Also, they never have time for walk-​in appts so don’t even bother.

Most of the nail techs are good, but the customer service is HORRIBLE. The girls at the front desk are extremely RUDE, in person AND over the phone. Every time I’ve called I have been put on hold for 10 MINUTES. I hang up and call back. If I don’t hang up, there’s no doubt that I would probably be on hold for a full 15 to 20 minutes. They answer the phone and say, «Spatacular Nails, can you please hold?» and put you on hold without even giving you a chance to reply. They put me on hold while I was in the middle of screaming into the phone, «I was just on hold for 10 minutes!» This place needs new management or it needs to shut down completely, because the receptionists are killing it. Whoever is at the front desk is the face of their reputation. They’ve certainly acquired a bad name for themselves, all thanks to the front desk alone. Besides that, it’s impossible to ever get an appointment. They are somehow ALWAYS booked, which I find very hard to believe. No matter what day or time I call, it’s always the same thing. Nothing available. I called today (Monday) and was put on hold twice, each time for 10 minutes, only to be told that there’s nothing available. It’s Monday. I can’t believe it. The front door and website both say «Walk-​ins are always welcome.» They might as well take that down, because it certainly does not apply.
All of these previous reviews are all true. I don’t know how this place is still up and running.

First time I went there I was short changed but good manicure. They had to have me wait recount the register and apologize second time, made appointments waited over half an hour and the manager had attitude when I asked her why should we be waiting when we have an appointment. I can understand five or ten minutes. Thirty five minutes is too long. If it was a great pedicure I would overlook it but is an average pedicure.

I have mixed feelings about this place. It’s not the fanciest, or the best, and it is loud, but overall I choose to keep coming back because of it’s convenient location and the fact that they are open on Sundays.
Cons:
Not great about walk-​ins
Getting a person on the phone is near impossible (just keep calling)
The receptionist will never remember your name
Talkative nail technicians (but eventually it becomes endearing and there’s certain folkloric comfort associated with their conversations)
Pros:
fast, easy, cheap and they do a pretty good job
clean: tools are sterilized, the nails brushes are swimming in that antiseptic blue liquid
Lots of Essie and OPI colors, as well as Gels
massage chairs for pedicures

This place has gone down hill. The front desk receptionists are extremely rude. It’s almost impossible to actually get through bc they leave you on hold for 10 minutes at a time and when you call back it either goes to voicemail or they pick up with major attitude, just had this experience with Moni. I know the owner Marta BC I was one of the first clients when the salon opened. When she was around more the girls were friendlier and not constantly on the phone. I used to live in Pinecrest, but continued to come here after I moved to the beach. My first bad experience was when a nail technician was too busy on the phone to notice she cut me twice. I kept giving it more tries BC I really liked the place, but not going back specifically because of the receptionists. Horrible customer service.

Sorry, but if I could give this place a 0 I would. There is nothing good to say about my experience at this nail spa. I went there w/​a group from my firm, as we were heading out to celebrate a major win on a case. So we decided to get dolled up. One of the partners was able to get an appointment here (no wonder) to accommodate all of us… to start, the place is TOO small and cramped. It is really small and the ventilation is poor. I would be willing to overlook that IF they did a good job, but no. I have never had such a terrible French manicure before. The nail tech had to remove the polish 3x and redo my nails over and over. Eventually I told her to just leave it as is… The cherry on top? She didn’t speak English. Never going back here and sorry Perfect Nails… going to this place wasn’t my idea.

I have tried making appointments 3 times and no luck. I don’t understand how they have no availability, ever. they told me sundays are slow, apparently not.
I called one weekend, I was put on hold — after 10 minutes I hung up and tried calling again, several times. voicemail every time.
so I decided to just drive over and try my luck with walk in. the girl was super rude and was like do you have an appointment, I said no, ive been calling for the last 30 minutes with no answer so I just showed up. she said well sorry we are fully booked.
she didn’t even try to get me to wait around. it was 2 pm and they are open till 6. they have at least 15 girls on staff and only 1 lady waiting for an appt. I couldn’t believe they were turning me away.
I left and will most likely never be back.

great hours — 7 days a week with very long hours!
great location — right on us and 112 street.
great hygiene — very clean, organized, and all the girl are dressed in hot pink scrubs with coordinating tote bags for their supplies. so everyone looks neat and uniform, plus no messy supplies all over the place.
great selection of colors — Essie, opi, and a few brands of shellac polishes.
the girls were NOT super friendly, which is ok, I usually like to be quiet and relax during my mani/​pedi, but that was kinda hard bc they were talking and gossiping amongst each other the whole time. the girl doing my mani took 3 phone calls and talked on and on while slacking off on my hands and feet.
I normally wouldn’t mind this at alll, except there are silence please signs all over the place. kind of ironic.
overall it was speedy service and my manicure lasted over a full week.

I used to go to this location all the time because I live in the area. Truth be told it was my favorite until about 8 months ago. It’s extremely hard to get an appointment from Wed. Through Sat. Unless you book way in advance which I used to do. In fact I had a standing appt every Wed. I would switch around from Marly to Dayana and a few other choice girls. Marly by far is the best at service.
The color selections are great and the cleanliness is wonderful. In the last 8 months I’ve noticed that it’s like a hen house in there. The workers have gotten loud and some even rude. I’ve then switched to the other location they have by my office which is in Doral. The prices are lower, the facility is just as good if not better because it’s newer and the women aren’t as loud. They are actually really quiet and work well. If you want to go to a place like this one, I prefer the doral location.

I went to the Doral location– This place is HORRIBLE!!! Customer Service is horrible. I made an appointment for mani-​pedi & wax. First, the woman was constantly checking her phone and having a conversation with other technicians (which I would not mind to much, but every time she would stop my service and come back to me when she was done with her sentence) Its FINALLY over & I tell them I am missing my wax. The receptionist told me that the ONLY person who does wax just went into a facial so I would have to wait an hour or come back another day. SERIOUSLY!!! Have you thought of maybe organizing your appointment book a little more and having your client do her wax before the facial… Never again. There are so many better and nicer places in Miami. Save yourself the trip.

I have such mixed feelings about this salon. I love that their tools are sterilized with a machine and opened in front of each client — which I have yet to find in any of the other manicure/​pedicure salons I’ve been to. They have a great selection of Essie and OPI colors, and have a lot of shades from newer collections. The customer service, however, is atrocious.
The nail technicians are constantly answer their phones and texting DURING their appointments. During one of my experiences, I was seated directly under a «Silence please — no cell phones» sign yet the nail tech talked loudly on her phone the entire time she was painting my nails.
Marley is hands down the only person worth going to, she’s so sweet and does the best job. Other than that, they need to seriously step up their customer service.

NEVER AGAIN! I’ve never had both mani and pedi done UNDER 30 mins. Very rushed and sloppy. Forget the feeling of being pampered. Had to wait for the receptionist to finish her conversation with another tech before they acknowledged me to pay. Thank goodness it was a gift certificate!

Service is horrible. Made an appointment for today (Friday) and when I got there the lady at the front told me it was for Saturday. I told her no. I made it for Friday. She told me very rudely there was nothing she can do for me, unless I wanted to wait for an opening. I asked her how long, she tells me it could take the whole morning. Service is terrible and receptionist needs to learn about customer service. There are lots of places in Miami!

Better than MOST places in Miami but, I still haven’t found the perfect nail place yet so, this will have to do! They are fast and thorough with a nice selection of colors and my nails always last! They offer more than just nails so, be sure to inquire about their services that range from hair blow dry to waxing.
Be sure to make an appointment, because they do get busy.
