YUM shop hits all the marks for a clean, decent yogurt shop. It has a moderate selection of flavors(nothing exotic, but about 8 favorites), a moderate selection of toppers, and a wide selection of syrups/whipped cream/caramel, etc. The staff were very preoccupied with personal discussions, but shifted focus for just enough time for me to pay. Overall, the yogurt was good. The experience was as expected, and my yogurt was $ 6, which is comparable to similar establishments.

I was impressed with Yum’s frozen yogurt! It was the BEST frozen yogurt I ever tried! I had the Very Berry Sorbet with various toppings. It was delicious! The atmosphere is clean and the staff is pleasant. I will be returning!

I liked it but it’s not a place I’ll frequent or go to often. I got a little of each — coconut and peanut butter — and wasn’t super impressed with the flavors but they were okay. I was hoping for a more«fall» themed flavor or something but they didn’t have that. Lots of toppings to choose from. The restaurant was clean and the service was fast. Ummm, that’s about it!

My husband and I love this shop. It is great for a treat. I love all the fresh fruit and Non-fat frozen yogurt choices. The place is very clean, produce fresh, and comfy couches to watch tv while you enjoy your treat! Yum!

I ate here tonight with my girlfriend for a snack after dinner. The inside of the restaurant was very open and clean. It also had the normal fro-yo stuff like a toppings bar and the yogurt dispensers. Beyond that it also had some cool wall hanging dispensers that i had mot seen before. However The establishments coolest feature was a wall full of polar bear picture. There were about 8 different yogurt flavors with the most unique being pink lemonade which I had not seen before. Overall the yogurt tasted pretty good with some being tangy and others sweet. I cant say that it was anything special but it was solid. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again if in the area. The yogurt was good and they have a nice selection of toppings.

I wanted to give YUM5 stars for just having Original Tart! I settled on 4 stars though because it is just a froyo place… a froyo place now overrun with preteens! My wife and I will still keep coming back, but might divert to the new location in Cranberry, it’s closer and has the same flavors. I don’t really get down with many toppings, so it’s not a huge deal-breaker or maker, however the selection seems sufficient. Definitely worth a visit!

In comparison to Red Mango or 38 Degrees in Evanston, or the TCBY in Old Orchard Mall, I enjoy the self-serve and pay-for-your-weight aspects of Yum. I am not a big fan of the obligatory .50 cent surcharge for any topping, especially when I’m not in control of the amount I can put on. The TCBY either has a much higher price/weight or the sales tax in Chicago is just too high. This isn’t to say Yum is ridiculously cheap…4 of us still dropped $ 15 but it isn’t any more expensive than the rest of the frozen yogurt competition. Yum’s total self-serve gives you complete control of your frozen creation. The flavors are interesting, I wonder if they rotate them every day or not. But I enjoyed the cappuccino and Reece’s combo — once again, another unique perk! Within each machine, there are two flavors — you can choose either or choose a mix. Red velvet cake, blueberry, french vanilla, chocolate were some of the other flavors. There’s a wide selection of toppings, including fruit-flavored bobos. The Asian inside me would have enjoyed seeing mochi as an option but there were plenty of other tempting choices. Atmosphere was clean and pleasant. Service was just the one cashier, probably a high schooler but she was very nice. No complaints. When in the area, would definitely patronize Yum again.

I have to seriously disagree with the other reviewer. My frozen yogurt combination had an abundance of fruit flavors such as blueberry, pineapple, raspberry, and strawberry. I highly recommend the blueberry and raspberry flavors. Great yogurt, great atmosphere. The cashier we had was great. We actually had a great conversation with her and she was very helpful. The whole family loved Yum. My brother, parents, and I loved it. It is not filling and hits the spot after your dinner at Ichiban. I highly recommend it.

I wanted to love this place, but it’s about as hum-drum as the suburbs in which it resides. The flavors and toppings seem to cater to the soccer moms and the pre-pubescent teens that frequent Yum Fro-yo. I’m used to seeing more natural flavors like green tea, mango, pineapple, and coconut but Yum only had two fruit flavors — raspberry and orange. Most of the flavors consisted of things like peanut butter, chocolate, french vanilla, and red velvet cake — which tasted like chocolate — and of course, the obligatory ‘original’. The fruit toppings are limited as well and what they do have are cut in large pieces — too big to be evenly distributed by the yogurt. Also, once the fruit inevitably freezes, the chunks are harder to chew. The bulk of the toppings are crushed up candies and cereal. *Yawn* Is this TCBY? The gals behind the counter were also unfriendly and rather vapid. They passed right over me — with my yogurt already on the scale — to ring up someone behind me. Nice. Customer service here is non-existent. I guess what Yum does have going for it is that it’s the only game in town. You have to cross a few bridges and go into the city to find another fro-yo place. However, it’s worth the drive.
