Pine Lake Post Office

I have always had pleasant experiences with the people at this post office so with me waking up to this rainy Sunday afternoon I thought I would share the EXCEPTIONAL service I received from Leanne, on my last visit. My company Pi-​bytes needed to overnight a box of bytes to a customer in Texas. Pi-​bytes are perishable so I am always trying to get to the post office right before closing so they can stay frozen for the maximum amount of time. As I get there this last time I am told that the address I am shipping to is unable to do overnight. I guess it was some place rural or remote. SO WHAT SHOULD I DO??? Leanne holds the pi-​bytes for me so I can make a call. I get back in line and by this time it’s 4:35. PAST CLOSING. BUT, IT GETS BETTER… Leanne helps me find a post office that will accept overnight. So my customer can now go to San Antonio and pick her pi-​bytes up there. We get the paper work done and off go the pi-​bytes.
I know what it’s like to be ready to go home and in comes that last minute customer! UGH! Leanne stayed very friendly as she always has been to me. She goes above and beyond anything that could possibly be required of her. She didn’t rush me. There is another post office about 5 minutes away that is open later but the staff there are just not as friendly and helpful.

So all over the news there are reports that the post office is hemorrhaging money. Lay off’s, cut backs in service, etc. Well one of the offices that they probably need to cut is this one. The pine lake office is a baby post office. Under staffed, over worked & just about everything you’d go to a post office for they don’t do. There’s supposed to be another post office location near this one that does it all, you would probably be best in avoiding this one & heading over there.

You know, everytime I come in this post office there’s a line almost out the door. Maybe it’s because they did away with the self serve stamp machine, or because they’re under staffed, but expect to wait a bit.
So why am I giving this four stars? Easy… each time i’ve come in, despite the long lines, the staff are knowledgeable, eager to help, able to move the lines along pretty quickly, and never give you attitude (okay, never gave ME attitude).
I encourage you to take your earbuds off or to stop playing with your phone to pay attention to the people in line… from the over sharer who thinks a random stranger needs to know about his hyperthyroid status, to the failed «c’mon girl, what’s yo numba», the line is full of comedy.
It also helps that this is one of the closer post offices to me so it’s great to have a convenient location actually have good service.
