I stopped in here for dinner and a drink on Saturday night after taking one step into the local TGIFridays and feeling very out of place. I think that anyone that knows this particular TGIFridays would understand why, but It would be best to leave it at that. I have passed by Jilly’s hundreds of times, but never went inside mostly because of the questionable reviews. My experience was great. The Maryland Crab Soup and Pit Beef Sandwich I ordered were excellent as were the french fries that came with the sandwich. The beer selection is darn good even compared to many larger bars. The atmosphere was friendly and the bar area seemed clean. I am a bit disturbed by some of the reviews regarding the cleanliness of the bar and kitchen, but I am also aware that these are not problems unique to this establishment. Regarding problems with the food, I am very surprised as my food was excellent. I would like to believe that this establishment has undergone positive changes since some of the more negative reviews. I will keep coming back unless I find a good reason not to.

Me and my Dad had lunch at Jilly’s today. I really loved the tuna salad wrap and my french fries were some of the best I have had. This place has been feeding Pikesville for a lot of years and has been consistently good. Just thought they deserved a shout out.

Hamburger was dry as can be. Cream of Crab hardly any meat. Very disappointed with the food, however service was good. Should I risk it again?

I’m into unpretentious places to go, and Jilly’s fits the bill. Staff is super friendly and the food meets the ticket. Been coming here for about ten years on rare occasion when my job brings me over here. No complaints — just good food, good drinks, reasonable prices. Why not give them five stars when everything you want for tasty food is right here.

Stopped in for lunch with a coworker. Place was busy with retirees from the neighborhood. We were seated by the bartender and was told a server would be with us. 10 minutes to get our order taken, 10 minutes to get our check — service was pretty bad. The owner did come around and clear tables, including ours. He should train or hire more waitresses. Food in general was good. Lunch portion burger was tasty. Pit beef was unexpectedly hot, but received good reviews.

Went there on a Satruday night with a friend. place was pretty crowded but we were able to get a booth… side door was open… some patrons were outside smoking and enjoying the summr night… the booth unfortuantely was near the kitchen where I could see water on the floor and several dead roaches under the shelfing, and near the sink. Glass that my drink came in was not the cleanest but I was done once I saw he dead roaches… will NOT be returning

We went specifically because my mom wanted soft shell crabs. And sadly, they were small(even though the waitress said they were large) and tasted so fishy that my mom sent them back. The burger our friend got was amazing. Larger bun too, which was nice from presentation to edibility. Mom replaced her soft shell crab and was very pleased. I had the ribs and they were great.

I used to go to Jillys with my ex boyfriend all the time. Then I brought my father and cousin anf couldn’t get a seat or anyone to make I contact for 10 mins. Management saw me getting ansi and seated us. We waited another 20mins and werent even offered a drink. This is when I realize the Jillys I remembered was good because my ex is white. I am disgusted and will not return. No service for blacks at Jillys

This is a cool local bar with a great menu and selection of beers/drinks. I got the hot turkey with fries and gravy. It was a decent sandwich but not fantastic. The location is nice and parking in the back. The bar area is booming with televisions and lots of beer signs. Would return for a burger or sandwich, the new Mexican menu also looks yummy!

Neighborhood bar– pure and simple. Food is just ok(sandwiches are the way to go), wings are decent, but the highlight is an awesome beer selection. Sit at the bar area if you can– meet some local characters and get way better service.

Jilly’s is the best, most consistent neighborhood bar I know. Great food, friendly service, incredible beer selection. Everything is good. Every time.

Stopped in on a sunday night during a long car trip — we didn’t look our best. Perhaps that’s why nobody greeted us at the door and after wandering around looking for a table(and getting dirty looks from some of the patrons) we were directed back towards the front where someone kindly cleared a booth for us. We sat down and were checking out the menu when someone came by and told us the table was reserved and we’d have to move. We decided to cut our losses and just leave — if you’re not a regular I wouldn’t bother going. We got the impression they didn’t want us or our money.

I’m a mug club member here. Whenever I come in for a drink, and this was true when I first moved to the neighborhood 7 years ago, everyone at the bar is friendly and very social. I like this place because the bartenders have personality(you might need to have thick skin), the locals are always spinning a yarn or shooting the sh– over sports(lots of TVs), the food is OK(get the fish tacos — hidden gem), but the beer selection is AWESOME. A steady rotation of high to low octane drafts tops any bar within 20 miles. The owner is happy to give you a sample and tell you the details of any beer on tap. If you’re a baltimore dweller, this is a quintessential establishment to visit.

have not eaten here; just drinks a couple times. staff was very nice each time and they have a $ 2 beer of the month that was good. the don’t have a huge selection of liquor but a decent selection of beer. there was some type of water bug or roach at our table in which we had the waiter kill.

I ate here with a friend. I had the Bison burger it was cook perfectly. What caused me to say«Game Over» was the large rodent climbing up the wall behind my friends head.

The best thing about Jilly’s are all the tvs. The place however is just dirty and the food is average at best. The staff is nice but that certainly does not overcome the fact that it feels like the restaurant has years of cleaning that has been deferred.

Last night I met with a friend here for the free comedy show. I am not sure if it was the fact that it was a Saturday night or if their service is normally subpar. It could also be that I am not too familiar with the«bar atmosphere,» i.e., helping yourself. I arrived about 20 minutes after my friend had, it was around 10 at night. No one greeted me or asked if I needed a table. I search around for my friend. I struggled with finding a waitress/waiter to order a drink and later wings. The speciality drinks seem to just be a concoction of too many liquors, like it was a little bit of very thing from a liquor cabinet. The wings were over cooked, very hard to eat. Overall, it was disappointing. I most likely will not be back. If I do come back for a show or event, I will stick to water.

Don’t let the super-rustic, redneck atmosphere dissuade you. The food is very good and the burgers are a must-try. Wings are great and my steak was surprisingly good for a «tavern». There are big-screens everywhere if you are so inclined. My only negative observation is that it’s QUITE noisy. The crowd runs the gamut of 20 – 80 and that’s no exaggeration. We eat here maybe 3 times a month and we’ve never been disappointed.
