The Island in Pigeon Forge

My family and I have stayed at the island twice; the first time was amazing great friendly staff the whole place was just down right perfect. However our last stay was horrible the staff was unfriendly, Rude as could be and when we booked we requested to be in view of the fountain. We received village view! We even offered to pay more for what we wanted! But there was just nothing they could do apparently. They where so understaff as well it took forever to get things and the lines where horrible. I would not stay here.

There are so many things to do in the island!!! We loved spending our time in this area. Food, shops, music… It was great! There is a Tervis store which is cup heaven, candy shops, arcades, and great food!

Came here the day before new years and had a blast, lots of fun things to do! Great for all ages! They have a really fun ropes course, Olé Smokey Moonshine distillery, lots of fun stores, places to eat and a beautiful waterfall.

Do not go to natural comfort footwear. Horrible place! The salesman are liars and they won’t warranty there sandals. I purchased a pair of olukai sandals there in June under the impression that they were good quality and would hold up. I haven’t had them a year yet and they have fallen apart. The store will not do anything about it either. Go some where else.

We had a blast. It is over priced but when on vacation splurge. We went on the ferris wheel it was awesome except music was tooooo loud inside the cab. Ugh. We went on the carousel our legs almost froze to the sides but it was worth it. The arcade was full so we could not enjoy it. We got moonshine and watched the waterfall display. But the best part was we found a Zoltar fortune teller machine. These are rare and creepy accurate. I was stoked my hubby and I got readings. SPOT ON AND wow. Best part for me. We had fun and just enjoyed ourselves. Best way to do vacations.

Very overpriced from the $ 14 Ferris wheel ride to most of the stores in the the area. It is pretty much all chain places in this area nothing really original. But, if you have kids I can see why they would love it Ferris wheel, mirror maze, laser maze, arcade all are here. So, just be prepared to spend a ton of money when you come here everything is expensive. I will say the water show in the main area was pretty cool was set to Christmas music for the holiday and was really something to see. But, honestly if you don’t have kids not much here for you other than margaritaville that was closed before 10.

Nice place to visit, pigeon forge has come a long way from the days of go carts and putt putt. Jimmy buffet in the mountains not sure how that relates but the shops here are growing and even the prices are high in the shops you will find a lot to see and do. Plus free parking which is better than what Gatlinburg offers

the problem I had with this place was that they were idiots there and they lie to you
then when you go back to this place to talk to the managers they surround you like they trying to intimidate you or scare you.
they called security on me like that was supposed to scare me or something. I am from NEW YORK
no old man security guard is going to scare me, these people are very lucky I was with my young daughter or I would have showed them how we do things in new York city

this place looks like a great place to go to have fun with the family on vacation or if you a local looking for a night out.

Great place to walk around & relax. Fountain show is beautiful at night especially with the wheel in the background. Can park & walk a short bit or hop the shuttle for a short ride from the parking lot. The 3 Margaritaville buildings anchor this area & are quite impressive. The architectural designs of the buildings are tasteful & consistent providing a beautiful park like environment. Plenty to do for everyone. Yes, some cheesy/​chain things but in a quaint, nicely designed area. Not the cheap-​cheesy you see on the strip/​parkway.

A bit of a catch all shopping center. Up to date, clean, with a few fun amenities for guests. There’s a climbing/​outdoor activity for kids plus a large seating area to watch the fountain display with a conveniently placed lemonade stand that does not skimp on lemons.
There’s also a hotel/​resort adjacent to the island. With island being said, it’s not really an island, this probably is far blatantly obvious, but it tries to mimic the idea of being on a little resort island. Does it do the job? I dunno. It’s nice, it’s kitschy, I certainly wouldn’t drive across the country for it, but it’s not bad. Just don’t make it a focal point of your trip, I suppose?
Food wise, there are a few grill type venues and a Paula Deen restaurant, but you’ll probably have to leave the island to find more options. In all truth, I wasn’t entirely impressed by the food options there myself.
For a day trip, it’s not so bad. There are a lot of neat shops to explore, kind of your standard souvenir type place while including local and commerical shops.

Great place to walk around and possibly to enjoy dinner. I am a fan of Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville and to my surprise it happens to be there. The Ferris wheel is a nice touch but is a bit overpriced. My husband and the kids enjoyed frozen yogurt as well as the arcade on site.

The Island isn’t really an island but it’s a very different part of Pigeon Forge. There’s a huge parking lot close and transportation to and from your vehicle is provided by a large tram. There are many shops including Margaritaville, Smokey Mountain Moonshine and even a Paula Deen’s store. Other smaller unique shops line the walkway. You can have a good time checking out the shops. In addition to the more well known shops, there are many more touristy stores caring pretty much the same thing as they do on the main drag.
At the opposite end from the tram are quite a few amusement rides including a big ferris wheel. We never saw a lot of riders on any of the rides. I’m guessing it was due to the cost. — very expensive.
We felt the best part about the island for us was the all the chairs around the pond.

This is the quintessential tourist trap. Shopping, dining, arcade, etc. It’s a cool, new area in comparison with the rest of a very kitschy main street through Pigeon Forge and Sevierville. We had a free pass to go to the Ferris wheel, so we decided to check out the boardwalk. After seeing it, we passed on the ride after seeing much better views throughout the trip on our hikes and other outdoor activities. For us, it was too similar to Old Town Kissimmee (outside Orlando). Although we were there during the day, I would like to see the nightlife. I bet it is awesome.

I am not sure how I feel about the whole Pigeon Forge area but THIS area is unlike the rest. Not quite so exploitative and gaudy. BLUF:
— There is a really cool massive jungle gym/​obstacle course in the middle of it that looked really fun!
— There are a ton of shops that are just so-​so. A lot of them are tourist traps, just useless junk.
–T here are good places to eat all around it, and most of them have great outdoor seating!
— THAT FERRIS WHEEL IS RIDICULOUS! $ 14/​person to ride! Really? 4 people can fit in 1 of the pods, so that’s. $ 56 PER POD! Really!!! So not worth it. Probably why it was empty. I’m by no means cheap but…$ 14/​person to go in a big circle to get a good view of the Redneck Riviera of the Mountains? Nope.
— I will def stay in one of the hotels in the Island if I visit here again

This place was nice to walk around… lots of shops and eaterys, beautiful farris wheel to look at!!! I am not always so frugal but I refused to pay $ 14 per person to ride this… ridiculous! A crowded place with an empty farris wheel! Charge half that and they may get riders!

Great place to sit and rock on the comfortable chairs watching the wonderful landmark fountain of pigeon forge!
Shops every where, plenty of restaurants and places to eat. Kids can play for hours and not spend a dime. Hotels also on property.

Interesting little tourist spot on Pigeon Forge. It is nicer than some orher areas we saw driving around. Free parking and there is a shuttle bus for anyone that doesn’t want to walk over. We walked around and went in some of the shops. Also got smoothies and sat and watched the water fountain show. The area has a Ferris wheel, a ropes type course, and other interactive games geared to kids.

The Island is a beautiful outdoor mall to put it bluntly. There’s not much to do other than eat, shop, or ride the ferris wheel. Luckily the ferris wheel is a very smooth ride and you actually go around multiple times. Another nice element is the fountains. There’s rocking chairs positioned around so that you can sit around and watch them. Every so often the fountains will sync up with music and it’s like a little show. It’s a really nice place to check out.

No worries and safe for all ages
If your kids are brats dont ruin my experience. Leave them somewhere else.

The island at pigeon forge is new and is suppose to finish up sometime
Late this summer. I really think this place is going to be a huge hit once all the stores and restaraunts are in.
They have a water display set to music and lights up at night. It’s gorgeous. Margaritaville is set to open soon and Paula Deen is opening a place there too. There is a huge enclosed Ferris wheel and some kid rides and arcade.
The price to have unlimited rides is 19.99 plus tax which seems pricey but when you
Go to any of the other places in town it’s about the same.
This will be a nice addition to Pigeon Forge. They were having movie nights in Thursdays.
