Shular Inn of Pigeon Forge

We stayed here earlier this week with our family for three days. It was nothing special, just a please to crash after a long day of activities/​shopping. When we booked the room I told them we had four adults when in actually we had two adults and two children. This worked out well considering they did not put us in a room next to the pool (it echoed an was very loud. With the pool being open 24 hours, I don’t think anyone could have a good night sleep. The comfort of the beds weren’t to bad. The carpet in our room had spots where it was wet, maybe where wet spots from where towels were thrown. The bathroom area was just average I guess.
The continental breakfast was nothing great. We walked in to see what they had an walked out, it did not look appetizing what so ever.
They have an elevator that had no air conditioning an it smelled so bad, we took the stairs. The walls in our room were so so, you could still hear people.
Overall if you just wanting a place to lay your head at night it’s ok. For me this is a lower then average hotel, an I prolly would not stay again. I would stick with a known company as a posed to an individual owed establishment.

Stayed at Shuler inn 6÷27÷15 for two nights after driving by it several times due to outside appearance was not pleasing to me, but after many attempts to find better lodging decided to take a look at room which was located in back building .To my surprise the room was very clean with updated furniture and a jacuzzi tube in bedroom and wonderful mountain views on the 5^th floor. I agree with the other reviews that the indoor pool area looked filthy and dingy, but the outdoor pool was clean and my granddaughter enjoyed it. Breakfast area was fine enjoyed coffee one morning, also with the exception of one very rude middle aged desk reception clerk (blonde/​Grey hair,) The staff was extremely kind and helpful. Would stay again in same room. Location on strip great.

Not what we are used to.
We took our two children and my husband’s parents up to Pigeon Forge for three days and two nights. We chose Shular Inn because it had great photos and reviews for the price. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed at the false advertising of the Inn. The photos that they post clearly were not the level of room that we received. I wouldn’t say that it was a Roach Motel because it was pretty clean and, luckily, there was no signs of bedbugs. (We checked because there had been one report from some months back.) Our room was probably the worst. My inlaws had a connecting room to ours’ which was nice, but we could see the disappointed looks on their faces when they actually got into the room because it was not like the photos that Shular posts. The bathroom in our room was super tiny. The shower head looked like it was from the early 1990s, the toilet would not flush without holding the handle down for approximately thirty seconds (which is a total pain), the towels were like sandpaper, the bathroom did not have any type of fan which made it hard to breathe in the enclosed area, the fridge (which wasn’t very cool), coffee marker, and microwave were shoved into the closet, there were no easily assible plugs to charge electronics, the plug by the sink appeared to have caught on fire at some point and would not charge anything, the beds were not comfortable (we have experienced worse, but definitely better for even substantially less money), the table was shoved into the room with two chairs which made it hard to access one side of the bed, the breakfast area was located in a completely different building as was the outdoors pool, the indoor pool was too warm for our liking and had so much chlorine that it burned our skin, eyes, and nose, and oh, the afternoon day shift lady was not the devil but she was not personable. Also, our room was close to the main strip so it was very noisy because of the Parkway traffic. The vending machines on our floor did not work. They just kept telling us to make a different selection no matter what we chose. And my biggest gripe… THE WIFI DIDNT WORK!!!
Okay, I feel bad nitpicking all that stuff, so here is what we noticed was good about it. There was a mini fridge, microwave, coffee marker, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, working TV/​remote, and clean looking linens. The rooms connected. The best part about the entire stay was the fact that the breakfast lady actually had the breakfast area stocked at 7:00AM when it opened. They had good biscuits, pretty good sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, and sausage patties both days. They also had cereals, coffee, juice, water, bread items, and canned fruit salad. The facility was also right on the strip which did make it nice to walk to a few places. And, lastly, I did like how I could walk down to the windows on the third floor to look down to check and see if anyone was in the indoor pool instead of having to walk all the way down there.
Maybe, I am just too picky, but I am accustomed to a much nicer room for the amount that we paid for these rooms. I feel that the Trivago rating actually had this place rated WAY to high. They gave it a score of ⁸²⁄₁₀₀ which should have been more like a ⁷⁰⁄₁₀₀ or less. Had I seen photos of real rooms, I would have stayed somewhere else. Even my daughter commented on how much nicer the bathroom in the breakfast area was that what we had. The only way that we would attempt this Inn again would be if they comped us another stay in the other building to see if it was better than what we had this time. Oh, and when we checked out, we did not receive a copy or receipt of our stay. It is still not showing up on the
site as a completed stay, so I am hoping that when they took my key cards back, they actually checked me out. I would have liked to have had a receipt and am hopeful that all is okay.

If I could give this place negative stars I would. There is nothing worse that rude front a desk clerk to make your stay wonderful… not! The rooms were dirty and the air conditioner didn’t work. They refused to change our room, said they were full yet their sign said vacancy.
We have lights out in our bathroom which was reported on the first day but nothing was done about it. There is no reason to waste your money at this hotel.

Nice updated-​ish rooms. Very convenient location right in the heart of Pigeon Forge. The room was clean and big. The back building was detached and the area right next to it seemed sketchy. The breakfast was not bad. If stay here again based on the location alone. The pool was nice, but the jets in the hot tub had one setting, extreme, which splashed everywhere and produced a gross foam.

Very nice rooms and nice pool facilities. First time staying in Pigeon Forge after years of staying in Gatlinburg. We stayed on the fourth floor in the back building and the rooms looked exactly like the pictures posted on here. The hotel also has a back street exit that makes it very convenient to avoid some of the busy traffic yet it’s close enough to walk anywhere on the Pigeon Forge strip.

As other reviewers have stated this motel/​hotel has all outside facing doors, is clean and appears to be well kept. The outside pool looks nice, though being here in October nullifies that point. The bathroom doesn’t have a fan so it does make for a humid/​smelly atmosphere for the rest of the room. The bed isn’t soft, but it’s not springy either. The wifi was extremely fast for a hotel. The thing keeping me from giving this place a 4 star review is the noise… Oh my the noise… It’s worse than my college dorm room, and the walls were made out of paper there. I will not be coming back to this establishment for this reason.

Very nice room. Clean and appears to have fairly new furniture. Will definitely stay again when in town. Breakfast was included. The staff did a great job with service.

Great place, friendly staff. So nice we decide d to stay another night. Daughters loved 24hr indoor pool. Convenient to everything in Pigeon Forge.

We stayed three nights, wanting to use our Dollywood season passes for once in the summer when everything was open (we nearly always come for the Christmas lights and shows.) We were pleasantly surprised at what we found at Shular Inn! The room was spacious, there was adequate counter space at the sink, and microwave and mini-​fridge were provided. There was a nice outdoor pool, including a foot deep kiddle pool, and a gorgeous large hot tub surrounded by stacked stone and beautiful landscaping. There was also an indoor pool that was one of the prettiest I have ever seen. Huge atrium with large skylight above, and the windows open on the 2^nd-​5^th floors on both sides, so you had the summer breezes and lots of light. On one wall was a beautiful tile mosaic of a Tennesee mountain stream scene! There was also a foot deep kiddie pool here, as well as a large indoor hot tub. Unfortunately the sauna was there but out of order. Hot breakfast was included, and was the same thing each day: juices, sausage patties, hot fresh biscuits and gravy, powdered eggs that were tastier than usual, grits, bread selections, fruit cocktail, etc. – plenty to get your day started. Location is right in the middle of the parkway, the strip that we call «the beach without the ocean,» so it is very close to everything PF including Dollywood. Only negative was a small carpet stain and 11:00 a.m. checkout, because we wished we could have stayed longer at this wonderful facility.

I really don’t know what to say about this place. The rooms are set up such that your door opens to the outside. So technically its a 4 story motel. Consistent with the motel theme, the elevator is also open to the outside, so anyone and everyone can get around the motel if they want. We were first put up in a renovated handicap king room. The bathroom didn’t have a fan, so everything was very humid. The door on the bathroom wouldn’t shut all the way without a good shoulder punch and getting out of the bathroom was the same deal. The shower head was situated on a bar so that it could be adjusted up and down, but it was really dysfunctional. The kicker was that half of the supposedly brand new bed was completely broken. The WORST part was the noise level. All of the rooms have adjoining doors, I have no clue why, but because of this you seriously hear EVERYTHING. Makes for a crappy nights sleep.

Low-​end motel. Front desk people can barely manage a smile when you get there. Clean, nice looking room, but noisy like hell (the inn layout makes it that whenever someone passes in front of your door you hear them (and see them). There is a fridge and a microwave in the room, but the sink has no tower rack, and the whole arrangement of the bathroom cum kitchinette is a little strange. I would not stay there with a young child.
They do offer breakfast but it is HORRIBLE. Decent pool, if small. Maybe compared to other places around it is not bad, but staying in this part of Pigeon forge is like vacationing in a zoo. and a zoo with bad traffic, mind you. I’d avoid.

I stayed at Shular Inn with my husband and our 10 and 12-​year-​old. We live in Orlando, FL and traveled there for a Fall break. The staff was very friendly and personable. It’s a great location because it is far enough away from the busyness of downtown Gatlinburg, but not too far away from all the sites. And, I am a stickler for cleanliness and our rooms, bathrooms and the indoor pool/​hot tub were all very clean! We encouraged our children to be very active, hiking during the day, so they really looked forward to the 24-​hour indoor pool and it helped us keep them happy! We will definitely be back again!
