All the food is really good. They give you these wonderful banana nut muffins with a wonderful strawberry jam. We ordered a big country breakfast, it comes with 2eggs, 4 silver dollar pancakes, three meat trio, home fries, grits, and all the sausage gravy and biscuits you can eat. Everything tasted great fresh and home cooked. I’d eat every meal here if I could afford it. Speaking of affording it my meal was just $ 11. Our family of three ate for just $ 33. Our waiter was really nice he was just really busy. We had to wait pretty long for our food. He seemed to forget about filling the drinks. The food was well worth the wait. The sweet tea was better than others in that town claiming to be southern restaurants. This restaurant lures the people in just by sight. It is massive. It is lakeside and there us a huge water mill next to it. The little area is in is so cute. It’s like a tiny little town all on its own. There’s a distillery, creamery, pottery, shopping, winery, distillery, café and a bunch of other stuff. There’s enough to keep the family busy for the day. We even watched the fireworks from Dollywood at closing. They also have a general store. This place was so cute.

The Good: Our party of six was seated in less than 20 minutes on a Sunday at 12:30PM. The corn fritters and biscuits are homemade. All platters come with mashed potatoes and green beans. The chicken fried steak was very good. The white gravy comes on top, but I ordered mine on the side. It was very good. Southern fried chicken was also very good. Our server was professionally friendly; I’m not sure how many large tables she had, but it was more than just a few. The Bad: Nothing notable. The DL: This is a good place for Southern comfort /soul food. It is a huge operation that runs very smoothly. We would definitely eat here again.

This place was AMAZING, if your looking for a home cooked southern meal then this is the place to visit. The grits are creamy and just right amount of butter, the eggs were perfectly cooked and the bacon is nice and crisp with the taste of hickory smoked. The server we had provided southern hospitality, it makes you feel at home. The biscuits were delightful and fluffy. Definitely will be going back when we visit tennesse again

Really there is not a lot of negative things to say about this place. I give it «as good as it gets» because for a country style home cooking place I really have not encountered anything better ever at this price. I have been here a few times. I was so stuffed when we left after lunch I was unable to walk well. It was hard to quit eating as it tasted really good. I had the chicken pot pie which came with the traditional corn fitters, biscuits, green beans, chicken corn soup and mashed potatoes, all in large proportions. Holy cow, it was ridiculous. My wife had the ham and the same stuff. Both were great. The total price was under $ 28 with drinks and tax. What?! The bathrooms as well were very clean and upscale. It is all amazing considering this is an area favorite and usually crowded. I would not go to Pigeon Forge without eating at this place. It is basically a «must do.»

If you have a hearty appetite you’ll adore The Old Mill restaurant! While the atmosphere is casual, the service is superior, the food is 100% homemade from locally grown meat, fruits and veggies. If you can ask for Steve, he rocks!

My family of 4 went around 8:30 on a Tuesday and we were seated right away. Our server was prompt and very nice. You get banana mini muffins that are super yummy and plus complimentary orange juice. My husband got an omelet that was huge, plus amazing biscuits! I got the French Toast that seriously was bomb. Both kids got the pancakes that were both super yummy and with little ones the wait for our food was NOTHING! I was impressed. If we are back in Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge area we will be back. Plus at The Old Mill you can feed the ducks and take a path down to look at the Old Mill!

Love this place. Prepare to wait for a while, but it’s worth it. The food is amazing and hearty. You get fritters and chowder to start and most sides are unlimited family style. I always get the pot pie and it never disappoints. So good, and it’s big, so it can accommodate large amounts of people. Not much more to say. It’s really good.

Exemplary. 4 course dinner with everything you would want in a dinner. Soup and salad. Fritters with maple butter. Refills on your drinks as well as vegetables. Servers are attentive(we had Aaron). Desserts are amazing. It is noisy but why shouldn’t it be.

Hesitant to give 5 stars because of the mass feeding set up buuutttttt… the food was so good, the portions were so large, the prices so good and the building so incredible that I have to! I got the country fried steak with smashed potatoes and green beans and loved it. All 4 meals were good and the desserts were were pretty amazing also. Service was attentive and nice. The wait was only 10 minutes on a Friday night. The really know how to get people through while treating you well.

After a mediocre dinner in Gatlinburg, we opted to try the restaurant of one of my favored flour company. The corn chowder and fritters are delicious, inviting and an excellent appetizer. I ordered the fried catfish and was easily impressed with the the crispy cornmeal crust. I typically dislike coleslaw, but the tangy crunchy side dish complimented the fish so well… I ate it all! I am normally a health food addict but the wonderful inviting southern food easily tempted my tastebuds. Awesome place. Awesome service.

Who says they move slower in the south??? Other Unilocal reviewers led me to this gem among a multitude of chain restaurants and I’ll add yet another glowing review of the food, fast service and warm, friendly staff. Although packed when we arrived, we were told we faced only a 20 minute wait-time. Once our name was called, we were quickly seated and since we had already checked out the menu, we knew what we wanted. My spicy catfish entrée was preceded by a cup of delicious corn chowder, hush puppies and tossed salad. I received 3 nice-sized, tasty filets, rice, green beans, and free drink refills. Hubby ordered sirloin steak that he said was cooked perfectly and tender. Dessert is included in the price of your meal, and we opted to bring ours home. Plenty of food for the price. 5th star withheld for the weak salad dressing line up and an almost too-quick arrival of entrees. It was a Saturday night, so that might not be the case throughout the week.

This is as touristy as any restaurant in any major tourist city. There’s a gift shop, a metal working shop, heck there’s even a pretty fun moonshine/whiskey tasting room. But what this place does better than most of the tourist traps is making great food and not trying to do too much with it. And there’s so much food, you will not leave hungry. I opted for the fried chicken which was well done as was my son’s ribeye and daughter’s short ribs. The sides were good and the little honey muffins were delicious. Then just when you thought you could not eat another bite, they serve the pecan pie and it’s good enough you eat the whole thing… I’m not judging, I did too!

I always use Unilocal as my go to to decide what to try when I go to anew restaurant except it was zero help pulling up recommendation for at least six different dishes. In our group we had Meat Loaf, Ribs, Pork Chops, Chicken & Dumplings and Country Fried Steak. Only one person described their main dish as «good,» everyone else used the word amazing. If the dishes we tried the Pork Chops were the«good» dish while everything else was on the amazing list. As all the other reviews will tell you the portions are plentiful and the amount of sides is ridiculous. In fact, I had to read the menu four times cause I knew their had to be an or buried in the list of sides somewhere. Nope, you do really get that massive list of sides and they are all delicious. We devoured the green beans and corn fritters. Don’t get me wrong they were all excellent, but those two really stood out. I know next time we’re in Pigeon Forge we’ll be making a stop at Old Mill again! One piece of advice — come hungry, real hungry and put your name in and wonder around the shops.

The Old Mill is a family vacation must-stop for my family. The food is amazing. The service is fantastic. Beware… you get a lot of food! Recently, I had the chicken and dumplings, and I wish I could have another plate right now. I love love love the corn fritters. Come hungry, and when you’re done you can walk around the shops on property to work off some of the food you’ve eaten.

Old Mill Restaurant… I just can’t even. Absolutely LOVED our breakfast experience here. This was hands-down our best and favorite meal in Pigeon Forge. No, it wasn’t the best restaurant breakfast that I have ever had(you’ll always own my heart, Brother Juniper’s in Memphis). But it was as good as I could have hoped for, especially during my first visit to the tourist trap of Pigeon Forge that left me slightly underwhelmed. The restaurant itself is huge, tucked away in a picturesque village-y setting that was a refreshing break from all the neon lights, bumper cars and t-shirt shops of PF. The wood-paneled dining room is so airy and spacious, with tons of natural light streaming in. Our table had a beautiful view of Pigeon River, and the booths are big and surprisingly comfy for being carved wood. Our server was friendly and very fast and moved efficiently. Even though it was a busy atmosphere, he didn’t seem overwhelmed or harried. We started off our meal with complimentary little glasses of orange juice(!), and a perfectly proportioned basket of mini banana nut muffins for our table of four. The muffins were chewy and buttery and so cute. We all ordered huge breakfasts and the prices are unbelievable for the amount of food that we got! My meal included mini pancakes, real(not instant) stone-ground yellow grits, thick strips of bacon, crisp chunks of fresh-fried real potatoes, tasty scrambled eggs, and unlimited biscuits and cream gravy — FOR $ 9.00!!! We all loved our breakfasts and the beautiful restaurant. And for all four of us to eat a veritable morning feast was $ 35. Craziness. With those prices and the level of service and quality of food, tip at least 20%! I was just bummed that we had wasted a morning at another breakfast joint that sucked so bad, especially compared to Old Mill. On our last morning in PF we three ladies tried to plead, bully and peer-pressure my husband to stop by at Old Mill for breakfast, which would have delayed our departure time(but it would have been worth it!).

We chose The Old Mill after two friends commented on a Unilocal check-in of another restaurant that THIS was the place to eat. They weren’t lying! Our server, Aaron, was friendly and knowledgeable about the dinner menu. I cannot tolerate green peppers and was going to get the meatloaf, but he knew they were in that. Appreciated his other recommendations that were free of peppers. I chose the spare ribs with sauerkraut. OHMYSTARS. DELISH! My husband chose the chicken fried steak and I normally am not a fan of that dish… but I did try a bite of his and it was wonderful! The volume of food is almost obscene. You get corn chowder(they need to add some crab meat to that and serve it as an entrée choice with a sandwich at lunch!) plus a salad(homemade blue cheese dressing was creamy and not at all tart) in addition to the most amazing corn fritters with maple butter and green beans and mashed potatoes AND dessert with your entrée. I literally felt like a glutton when the food came to the table! The one thing I wish is that they sold half portions, these are just HUGE! We observed the other items that diners around us ordered and listened to the ‘yum sounds’ made by the children at the table adjacent to ours and I do believe that everything on the menu is as tasty as what we ordered. Now…back to that dessert. Typical offerings of the South… chocolate cake, pecan pie, blackberry cobbler, banana pudding or plain ice cream. They will pack it to go, which is great, because I cannot imagine even the heartiest eater having room for so much as a bite of dessert after the smörgåsbord laid out with dinner. We selected chocolate cake and pecan pie and after we’d been home an hour we decided to taste each one. The chocolate cake is single layer with a nice cocoa frosting, but the surprise was to find chocolate chips baked throughout the cake… very homemade touch! The pecan pie had crushed pecans and I prefer larger pieces, but the consistency, crust and taste were all fantastic! We will be going back for breakfast in the near future, as we heard it was just as good as dinner!

We’re here for Valentine’s/President’s Day weekend, and it’s very busy and crowded — everywhere. Based on the awesome Unilocal reviews, we stopped here for a late lunch(about 2PM). We were told a 25 – 30 minute wait(and it was a 30 minute wait). We walked over to the general store to pass the time. Our server was Amber, and she was very attentive and efficient. I had to request crayons and coloring sheets for the kiddies after we were seated, so if they forget — they have them available, just ask. This restaurant is VERY kid friendly, and the kid’s menu is fantastic(includes ice cream for dessert). My tots split one kid’s meal(I think it was $ 7.99): Grilled cheese w/mac & cheese as the side(don’t judge ;-), and it was plenty of food for both girls. Note: Neither tot cared for the mac & cheese(likely because it’s not«real» homemade mac & cheese — it’s like deluxe Kraft mac & cheese w/the squeeze packet of cheese sauce). We ordered the country fried steak(husband) and the turkey & dressing(me) — southern meal selections come with corn chowder, corn fritters w/maple butter, and sides of green beans and mashed potatoes(there are other side choices available). Everything was absolutely delicious, but the country fried steak was AMAZING — THE very best country fried steak we’ve ever tasted EVER!!! Please note: My 5 star review is for LUNCH only. At $ 10.99/per adult meal, it’s definitely worth it – a very tasty and fantastic value for lunch. However, I would NOT be as enthusiastic if it were dinner(at dinner prices) = not worth it.

We decided to go here for dinner while on vacation and it was great! First of all let me say I appreciate a place that doesn’t have tvs plastered on every wall, it has a nice rustic feel. At first I thought the prices were a little steep, but they include corn chowder, corn fritters, side salad, green beans(you can substitute for another veggie) and choice of potato(mashed, baked, fries, sweet potato) and a choice of dessert. You also get dinner rolls with your entrée. So for the amount of food it’s actually great prices! We had the ribeye and catfish, the ribeye was cooked perfectly and although I’ve had better catfish it was pretty good. Everything else was very good as well. They have delicious baby carrots and corn fritters. They give you maple butter with the corn fritters which compliments them very well. And the blackberry cobbler was amazing! Our waitress(Fabiola) was the nicest and the service was impeccable! Definitely a spot to try while your in town!

Good southern food, great prices! This place knows how to feed a fella. Started off our day with a tasty country breakfast. Everything was delicious and our server, Steve, was absolutely fantastic. Ended our day with a delicious fried chicken(me) and fried pork chop(my wife) dinner… with all the fixings. Great little shops surround the restaurant too.

We were looking for some good home cooked food and this is the place to go. We brought five kids and it was very family friendly. The waitress and all staff were polite and happy to serve up the meals average about $ 18-$ 20 per adult but you get salad, hush puppies, soup, large sides, main course and dessert so its worth it ! If your in town this is the place to go. Make sure to stop by the store to buy some of the yummy mixes from the restaurant and sign up for the recipe email too.

If you leave here hungry here, something is wrong with you. The food is so incredibly good here. Whether it’s good ol’ southern comfort food you desire, or just something to get you warm again, this is the place to make it happen. They can easily handle large parties, provide plenty of fixin’s along with your order, and never let your glass get empty. The prices at first glance appear to be a little steep, but then you look around and realize you get a ton of food, with a drink and dessert. Go here and enjoy it.

Stopped here for breakfast and was eager to try it out based on the 4 stars on Unilocal! After a 15 min wait we were sat. Not bad considering how many people were waiting. Breakfast menu is simple. 1 page, front and back… that’s how it should be. The meals are big and can easily be shared between 2 people. Each meal comes with a complimentary glass of OJ and mini banana muffins. The problem… our waitress forgot to bring ours. Meals finally came. Food was just… meh. I mean, it’s breakfast and it’s hard to mess that up but there wasn’t anything spectacular either. I got a meal to share w/the hubby, plenty of food. All in all. Food could use more seasoning. The sausage gravy was more like just white gravy… where’s the sausage? I honestly can say. I won’t be back for breakfast… maybe I’d try it for dinner. If you are wanting okay food and okay service, then try it out. Maybe your experience will be different.

Went today hoping for breakfast and were all profoundly disappointed to find out they stop serving at 11am. Shocking because they came up in our Unilocal search for pancakes and didn’t seem like the kind of place to have a menu shift. By the time we realized they weren’t serving breakfast we had gotten ourselves and the two little kids with us up the 2 to 3 flight ramp to the front door of the restaurant. There was no going back. Ambiance is pretty, it overlooks a nice stream. There are many tables available for large parties. The food is pretty good but not special compared to what else is available nearby. Meatloaf is okay, green beans are from a can, no choice in sides at all. Drinks are small and the refills don’t come quickly. I felt like I was in a weird high volume restaurant factory. I would say this is good if you have a big chaotic group and don’t want a lot of choice to complicate things, but if you want the best of Pigeon Forge I would go to Alamo steakhouse, one of the BBQ places on the strip or Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant which is huge and has apple fritters, that I liked more than the corn fritters at Old Mill.

Last month my husband and I ate at the Old Mill twice in one week – once for lunch and once for breakfast. We’ve tried to go for dinner in the past and the wait has always been ridiculous. But for lunch and breakfast, we were seated right away. At lunch, I got the vegetable platter with mashed potatoes, green beans, carrots, and pinto beans. The pinto beans were my favorite part – they came with corn bread and chow chow(a spicy, pickled slaw). My husband got the fried chicken plate and enjoyed it, although I thought the chicken was tough. The meals came with corn chowder and corn fritters – both are awesome. At breakfast, we both got the platter with scrambled eggs, potatoes, grits, biscuits and gravy, and silver dollar pancakes. My husband added ham to his. I loved the mini banana muffins. The best part of breakfast was the biscuit and gravy. The eggs were great with hot sauce. I’m glad the pancakes were small, because the whole meal was very filling. The grits were awful – no salt and no flavor. All in all, we had two great meals at the Old Mill Restaurant.

This place is phenomenal. We have been several times and the service has always been great. Granted, the wait to get a table can be long– but I typically see that as a good thing. This food is comfort food– do not expect calorie counts on the menu, nor expect to eat a light, healthy meal. They bring biscuits for lunch and mini muffins for breakfast right to the table, and they are scrumptious. Come here for a wonderful meal and you will leave happy — and full.

This place deserves it’s reputation! We arrived around two o’clock and there were a LOT of people waiting to get in but I don’t think we had to wait more than 30 minutes. We were seated at a lovely table near the window above a creek. The restaurant is a converted old mill and has great atmosphere. Our order was taken almost immediately by a pleasant young man and the food actually arrived in a decent amount of time considering the crowd. The food was great, the service was great and the price reasonable. I have nothing negative to say and I highly recommend this place.

Has it been a few years since you’ve eaten? Are you so hungry you could eat a horse? Than this is the perfect place for you! The portions are GIANT! Every meal for supper at the Old Mill is a 3 course dinner. You start with a house salad with your choice of dressing and corn chowder. I don’t need to tell you about a side salad it was good, the soup was delicious. The soup was nice and creamy, had great taste, and was enough to make you want more! You also get corn fritters with the first course. For course 2 you pick a meat and the sides come out family style for the table. Mashed potatoes and green beans are included but you can substitute if you’d like to. My fiancé had mac and cheese and said it was very good. I had chicken and dumplings which filled me up so much. They were very good! For course 3 you have a few choices for dessert. They give you the option to take it home because they know they feed you so much. I had black berry cobbler and it was great! The only down fall of the Old Mill is the wait you’ll have getting in this place. It took an hour and 10 minutes to be seated just for the two of us. Oh and all together for two three course meals we paid about $ 50 including tip!

A great place; the restaurant is a converted old mill, and provides a unique ambiance. I have only been here for breakfast, but it was good at a reasonable price. We had the Cinnamon Raisin Pecan French Toast which was more like toast than french toast, but pretty good nevertheless. The Old Mill Country Breakfast(two eggs, pancakes, grits, biscuits, gravy, home fried potatoes, ham, bacon, and sausage) was very good. The ham is salt-cured ham, so please be aware if you don’t like very salty ham.

This is more of a 2.75 stars. Came here around 8:30 pm and only waited about 20 minutes. The service was great. Waiter was fast and nice. Below is why I gave this place only 2.75 stars. All entrees come with corn fritters, green bean, mashed potatoes, dinner rolls, corn chowder, side salad, and dessert. Entrees are all approximately $ 20. What we ordered for 3 people: — Fried chicken: three pieces. Dry and not very flavorful. — Country bbq ribs: very«run of the mill». Pun not intended. Some parts chewy. — Blackberry cobbler: amazing — Pecan pie: meh My fav items were the corn fritters and corn chowder.

We ate breakfast at the Old Mill Restaurant two days in a row. It’s such a beautiful and unique restaurant that we seemed to be drawn to the ambiance of it. Breakfast starts with complimentary muffins and orange juice. Meals are not expensive and service is great. Food is good. However, gravy was tastier first day than second for the biscuits. Eggs needed to be returned because they were under cooked second day. The rating for first day would have been a four and for the second day would have been a two, thus a three star rating.
