Fireside Chalet & Cabin Rentals

We just got home from our amazing stay at A Beary Good Time! The cabin was amazing… great porch, hotbtub, clean, everything you need as far as movies, kitchen stuff, space. Our family of 9 had a fabulous time!
The only disappointment was finding out today that they offer a free night if you stay 4 nights (which we did) and no one told us about this special. There are numerous coupons that we could have used as well but we didn’t know about them.

My DH, my 4yo DD and I stayed at the Old Glory chalet (302). It was adorable and the views were incredible! The place was clean and we were given a starter kit of towels, napkins, paper towels and toilet paper. We had plenty of stuff and I never had to ask for more towels or even open the napkins and toilet paper we brought. The staff was very friendly and gave us good directions. I loved how well-​equipped the chalet was for city folk like my family. It had flashlights and nightlights everywhere with games, entertainment info and a good supply of dishes. My parents stayed in Chalet 320 and theirs was awesome too. I would certainly recommend this company and their rentals!

A few months ago we stayed with fireside chalets and was very pleased with the whole experiance. When we arrived they informed us that our cabin we booked was not ready, but they where going take care of us. They upgraded us and gave us the keys to «A Cabin of Dreams». We were not disappointed. This place was spectacular and the views were breathtaking, Fireside more then made up for our cabin not being ready. If this is the servive thy give all of their guest, then no one should leave disappointed.
Only suggestion: The pool table is in a horrible location and prevents it from being properly used. A air hocky table would be a better fit.

Cleanliness was the worst of it, there were left over used pots with food stuck all over with napkins in the oven, dish washer was full of dirty dishes, a used napkin of some kind behind the bed, and dried wine or blood on the kitchen floor. The place needed to be swept and mopped. There were dirty sheets and comforters, there were also a couple of clean sheets. The pull out bed had crusty grotesque stuff on it. Other than those things the cabin was really warm and welcoming, oh wait I remembered more — there was very little parking on site because it was on a really sharp slope. The pool table with other games were actually miniature and not full sized which disappointed us greatly (we felt like we were mislead on that one). We went to stay for a few days and get away from technology, you know be a family. There were a few places that needed dusting so what I am thinking happens is there is a cleaning crew and they are in a hurry so they just rush through. I filled out the comment paper and the lady seemed to glance over it. Who knows if they will make any effort to contact us. We would like for it to be made up to us but if it isn’t then so be it.
The positives — pricing was great, the office staff was wonderful although we never called down to complain about the above items. We felt our time was limited and precious so we didn’t want to repack to be sent somewhere else or bother with people coming in (we sucked up and decided to complain afterwards to preserve the good mood). The décor was wonderful, there was a Christmas tree and the top ¹⁄₈^th didn’t light up which kind of sticks in your mind every time you walk by. It is like oh look how cool they thought to put in a lighted tree then the next idea is they really suck to have stuck in a tree that doesn’t fully work. It kind of sucks the Christmas spirit out of the moment. But other than that the décor was wonderful with stockings named for Red Riding hood, the wolf, and grannie, the entrance to the cabin had a little red riding hood. In the cabin there were more cut outs on the railings which carried the theme right on through.
I guess our experience wasn’t as bad as it could have been or as great because minimum expectations of cleanliness weren’t met, and the décor was damaged. It is kind of like getting a broken present on Christmas morning (just not what you were expecting).

We stayed in the Lover’s Leap cabin, and we enjoyed the porch area with the rockers and swing which was a great spot to overlook the gorgeous view of the Smokey Mountains. The cabin itself was nice although it made lots of creaking noises and even a couple louder noises throughout our week’s stay. I would have liked the cabin to have some extra paper products and dishsoap since those were items we had to purchase to get us through our stay and the windows were dirty, and there was a dead bug caught in the curtains but the rest of the cabin was pretty clean. The hill leading up to this location was very steep and the road was narrow enough to allow only one car at a time so if be prepared to back down if you encounter another vehicle.

Our stay was the end of September and we stayed at bear it’s tree house. The pictures were absolutely gorgeous. There was six of us and we had ample room in the house. These are the pros.
Thank god we arrived after dark. In the morning we could see that the house was filthy, dishes in the cabinet were dirty. There were under garments in some of the drawers, pills leftover from previous renters. Cob webs blocked some doorways.
Now, we paid for six people, but when we arouse one morning we had a scorpion in a sink and a poisonous wolf spider on the stairs.
After numerous calls to Fireside, they finally sent a maintenance person out to kill the spider. He was very polite and accommodating. Six screaming women is not pretty. We had bugs everywhere. Showers, window sills, drawers, corners etc.
We reported the issue to fireside and they offered to move us to another cabin. But it had to be right that minute. After waiting four hours for the spider to be killed and someone to clean the home, we only had a day left so we opted to stay. Honestly, I thought they would give us some kind of a discount for our troubles. The only tip we got was to stay in town next time from someone purported to be the manager. Lunch on Fireside would have given them at least two stars for making an effort.
We found the staff at the rental office to be snide, rude and unprofessional.
I will never recommend this management company to anyone. We all wish the owner of the cabin could see what a terrible job their mgmt company is doing.

Cabin was as described. Pictures accurate. Drive a little more treacherous than expected but worth it. Good value. Quite an experience staying on the side of a mountain.

We recently recently rented a two bedroom, two bath chalet through Fireside Chalet in Pigeon Forge, TN for a weekend. Although the site had photos of each room, I still did not have high expectations of what we would be walking into. You just never know nowadays. I just knew that I could not fathom paying almost $ 130 a night at a Holiday Inn so we found this company through a family friend.
However, all of my uncertainty vanished the moment we arrived in the quaint residential neighborhood were our chalet was located. Our «little house,» as I called it was absolutely gorgeous! There were beautifully shined hard wood floors, a fully equipped kitchen, washer/​dryer and two spacious bedrooms with sinfully comfortable beds! There was also a cute back porch complete with rocking chairs and a hot tub. I can’t tell you how nice it was to have space to spread out. We had the convenience of being minutes away from the activities, dining, entertainment and shopping of Pigeon Forge without being in the hustle and bustle, there was even a major grocery store chain down the hill from our house. I loved this place and while it might not be for everyone, I though it was the perfect way to get away but still be close to the action.
The only drawback and the reason for fours stars and not five, was that we did not have control over the thermostat. However, each room had a ceiling fan and the weather was very nice for this time of year so it wasn’t that much of an issue.

We stayed at Dances With Wolves for the Valentine’s Day weekend 2009. It was a lovely cabin, very comfortable and had everything you would need. The place was clean and cozy. The reception during check in at Fireside Chalet’s office was so professional, patient and sweet, real southern hospitality. We would stay here again as soon as we can.
