Econo Lodge Riverside

Very nice stay! I have a friend that recommended we stay here because they always stay at this location. I’m so glad we did! Very courteous and friendly staff. Clean and quiet room (air conditioner a little noisy) on 3^rd floor with view of ferris wheel on The Island. Bed and pillows were comfy. My 12yr old son enjoyed the indoor pool, feeding ducks and playing on the rocks in the water. Free hot breakfast was good. Nice variety to choose from. Once again very friendly staff working hard to keep the tables clean between guests. Wifi didn’t work in the pool area, not a big deal for me. Will definitely stay here again next time we visit!

1^st time here with the family and will definitely be back. Room was clean, beds were very comfy, full hot breakfast every day and great coffee. Kids and I enjoyed the indoor pool, kiddy pool and hot tub all open till 11pm.
Some parts of the hotel could use some fresh paint, but it’s an older place. Loved the path along the Pigeon River where you can feed the geese. Will stay here again.

Had a great stay! Accommodating staff. Comfy beds and clean, quiet room. Enjoyed the indoor pool as well as breakfast in the morning.

We were put up in the hotel thru a timeshare company that wanted us to view their product. The staff was accommodating upon our arrival. They gave me an adjoining room with my family who arrived before me. The room was kind of small but it worked for us. The room was clean but compact. We were able to open the doors in between our rooms to make it seem larger and keep us from being on top of each other. Nice indoor pool and hot tub also. The breakfast was good but very crowded. The staff kept it up very well. Overall a good stay.

Taking money off of the bill isn’t enough to endure kids screaming their heads off in a echoing enclosed pool from 8pm-​11pm every night.

Nice place to stay. My cousin and I went the first week of november so the prices where good. The wifi was fine. We hooked my laptop to the tv and streamed Hulu on it. Worked fine. Probably because there wasn’t a crowd at the time. Ladies at the front desk where nice to us. Thanked us as we were leaving. Cleaning crew was good as well. Nice place for the price we paid. Pool was really good. Small game room. Had a few games I played in the 90’s. Which was fun.

Great breakfast provided. Right by the river was awesome there is a fire pit and a pavilion with grills provided for cook outs as well. WiFi signal wasn’t the best and mold in our bathroom was a downer. For the price and location it was worth it.

Have stayed here multiple times. Kids love the indoor pool and hot tub. Rooms are available right beside the indoor pool, but it can be loud. Continental breakfast is always great, though dining room gets crowded easily. Easy to access ice machines and vending machines. Arcade, laundry room available. The Little Pigeon River runs right behind the hotel and you can feed the ducks. Parking is okay, but difficult to find a place if returning to the hotel late at night. The Christmas Store is next door and other restaurants and stores are within walking distance. One complaint, our room once was beside the maintenance/​maids room and it was very noisy very early.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating !! Rooms were clean my only complaint is the breakfast… this is not deluxe breakfast it’s the same as most smaller hotels otherwise and nice place to stay!

Fyi— if there are a lot of people and kids in the pool and if your room is in the pool area— IT IS VERY LOUD AND ANNOYING. I am just amazed at how someone can let their child yell for over an hour straight!!!

Don’t pay more than around $ 100 a night for a hot tub room and it’s a good value! The free hot breakfast is decent but the eating area is tiny so get there early to get a table. Room service can mean self service so be aware of that when booking. Overall a great value for a stay in a great place :-)

Pros: Nice pool, and jacuzzi. Decent size room with free wifi.
Con: Someone smoked in the room, and it smelled. Breakfast had nothing fresh, eggs from a liquid carton, watered down juice, weak coffee.
Request a room away from the front-​street is very busy.

This was an amazing motel for the location and the price. We used Unilocal and Travelocity to help us find it and the reviews were dead on with how hospitable and nice the motel and their employees were. We had a large party staying there and checked out two rooms. One on the riverside and the other right next to the pool. Both were quiet, very clean, had microwaves, and mini fridges. The breakfast was very good and had a large variety of cereals, hot foods, and drinks. Only word of advice I have is plan on getting there 10 minutes early even though they kept the breakfast bar open a little after the 10:00 am closing time it does get crowed because it is such a good breakfast for the price. Also they are close to what we think is a free trolley service if you worry about the traffic and parking. Overall it is a great place stay and close to everything.

We were looking for a rather inexpensive hotel that had good reviews in the Gatlinburg area. Most hotels online were around $ 130 – 150. Fortunately, we came along the Econo Lodge Riverside.
Prior to walking into the lobby, I had checked in on Unilocal and to my surprise, there was coupon! So I was able to save even more off my reservation.
We checked in around 7pm and there was no line or wait. The gentleman at the reception desk was very friendly and helpful. Checkin was a breeze and we were off to our room.
The room was nice and clean, we didn’t care for a view or anything as we were just spending the night after a long 12 hour drive. The bed was a king size firm, very comfortable. There was also a mini fridge, microwave and few other items that come standard with rooms.
The hotel grounds are nice, theres a large indoor pool and two hot tubs. Behind the hotel lies the river where you can go and feed ducks (they have corn for sale, $.25 in machines). Just watch out for the duck poop.
Unfortunately, we didn’t make it to breakfast but from what I was told, it’s a full hot breakfast.
Two things that I noticed that I wouldn’t like, one is that there are a lot of children there (which is fine), but the pool is open until 11pm, so if you have one of the rooms facing the pool, it could get annoying as they were all screaming and jumping around.
The other problem is the wifi, which we couldn’t even pick up in our room (no problem for us as we tethered my phone). The staff did mention they have new equipment on the way to fix that issue.
There are plenty of food options around the hotel, though most delivery options are just pizza.

It’s the cheaper hotel in town but for the price it’s great. There is a large creek that runs in the back and that’s where we stay when we come here and we come here pretty often! There are picnic tables next to it and a machine for food to feed the birds, which my kids LOVE to do. The indoor pool is small and high in chlorine but it’s perfect for the kids. It’s next to the Christmas Village Shops so I can walk there but the down side is because it’s the cheaper one in town it is usually pretty crowded and can get noisy especially if you have a room in the interior looking over the pool. The rooms I stay in always have fridge/​freezer combos, a microwave and decent size sink area. It’s not a bad place but if you aren’t worried about price I would spring for something a little more on the luxurious side. If you’re counting pennies like I do this is the place to be!

–everywhere around the pool area is wet and very slick!
–the pics make the pool appear bigger. The spa only fits 5 – 6 adults.

If I could give them more than five stars, I would! We were looking for a room for Sunday and Monday nights of Memorial Day weekend in Gatlinburg/​PF and just as you could imagine, rates were fairly inflated over a holiday weekend. I stumbled upon the Econo Lodge on Kayak and according to Trip Advisor, it had fabulous reviews! I used a discount code for a group I’m a part of, plus we are getting a $ 50 visa gc back for a promotion they were doing, so when you factor both of those in, our room cost us $ 35/​nt.
Our room was poolside, which annoyed me a bit the first night because noise carried upward, but within a minute or two of 11pm (pool closing time), it was silent. The room was fairly tiny, but had enough room for our king size bed, my son’s little toddler cot, the table and chairs, and it had a kitchen area with a fridge and microwave. The flat screen tv was nice as well, something you wouldn’t think you would find an an Econo Lodge. Our room was very close to the lobby, which as long as we could utilize the parking in the front of the hotel (not much there) we were VERY close to our room. We went out back and fed the ducks, there were picnic tables there and little vending machines for duck food. The pool area was nice, clean and the toddler pool was a nice touch.
We will definitely stay here again!
