OMG! This vacation was AMAZING!!! Thank you so much Colonial Properties! We stayed in the Elk Lodge and it was gorgeous, we didn’t want to leave! Fully equipped kitchen, hot tub worked great, pool table and game table was a blast! Only gripe was the A/​C wasn’t working the best but it wasn’t that hot and it didn’t really matter to us. Hands down best vacation so far! Looking forward to making another reservation soon, I highly recommend this place. They also do military discounts! Oh and go see The Tomb while your in town, excellent site!!!

16^th wedding anniversary getaway I decided to use Colonial Properties to rent the «Wonder Lodge». I was very
hesitant about staying due to the Unilocal reviews and also on other websites. I tried to cancel my reservation because of it and the young man was very nice and reassuring that the cabin I rented was nice and they do value their customers.
They sent me the rental agreement and explained in detail how I would be getting another email advising the cabin keycode the day of check-​in at four. I received my keycode email the day of check in promptly at four.
We had been on the road for ten hours when we arrived at 4:30. The cabin was ready for us right off the parkway close to all of the attractions the smoky mountains have to offer!!! The cabin was clean and beautiful! They even had the hot tub ready for us!
WOW!!! I was totally taken by surprise, we had wifi, and direct TV on flatscreen tv’s. There was cute loft with another bathroom, bed and TV.
If you want great customer service, reasonable prices for beautiful cabins, then contact Colonial Properties. It made my 16^th wedding anniversary special! I am now looking at going back for Thanksgiving!

Cabin was great! Nice and clean and as advertised. 4 stars for the cabin.
3 stars for the terms and conditions.
T&C (departure time, security deposit, etc.) seemed very stringent as compared with numerous other cabins we have stayed at in the smokies.

We came here for our honeymoon April 26^th-​April 30^th of this year in the «View for Two» cabin. While the cabin was nice, we ran into several issues during our stay that made us never want to do business with this company again. I’ll just list them:
*The directions they provide you are horrible. They look like they were drawn by a child. Not good for non-​locals. It took us forever to find the cabin after checking in. At one point, we had to stop at a gas station to ask for directions (by the time we checked in it was past midnight, so we couldn’t call the check-​in place).
*The kitchen was INFESTED with large black ants. I know its the mountains, but c’mon. When we called to complain to the check-​in place, my hubby got the snide response, «Well you are in the mountains, honey.» and then laughter. RUDE.
*The hot water did not work in the hot tub outside, making it useless.
*The jacuzzi tub inside only filled halfway with hot water, so we had to turn it off halfway, let the water heat up, then fill the rest.
*The shower was tiny and had no light above it, so we took showers in the dark.
*The power went out TWICE. The first time was only a few minutes, the second time was a few hours. We had to call THREE times to get someone to come fix it. Each time we spoke to a different person who said they would follow up with us. Only the last person did, and she also laughed at us.
*There were two tv’s, one above the bed and one next to the kitchen. The one next to the kitchen was oddly placed and we never used it. It would have been much better above the fireplace across from the jacuzzi tub.
*The jukebox did not work.
That being said, we did still enjoy our stay in Pigeon Forge. There are lots of places to go and see. If you want a low-​key and quiet stay, go when we did. The place was a ghost town, and we seemed to be the only ones there from out of town. We asked a waitress at Corky’s where all the people were. She smiled and said, «Y’all came before the busy season. By the time summer starts, this place will be hoppin’!»

My cousin always talked about renting a chalet/​cabin in the Smokey Mountain area near Gatlinburg, TN. He did this with a few of his buddies many years ago and talked about doing it again mainly because it’s such a great deal. Why would anyone stay at a hotel?
Now the time has come and we checked out the available houses for rent on the website. The pictures looked just like the cabin.
We stayed at the Happy Heart that was suppose to house 6 people. On the listing, it showed 2 king beds and a sleeper sofa, but they didn’t mention the upstairs loft area was a full size sleeping mat. The cabin was much bigger than I envisioned, namely as a enthusiast photographer, pictures can be manipulated to make things look bigger. It’s the same theory that celebrites look larger than life, but when you meet them in person, they look small. Fortunately, the photos look just like real life, if not better.
Being that it was the holiday season, the entire cabin was decked out with 2 Christmas trees, holiday knicknacks spread all around. The hot tub outside was already hot when we got there. Check in, check out was simple. We barely arrived before closing time, but it didn’t really matter as the house is keypad code entry. Everything was clean, the cabin was lit up and heated when we showed up, all in working order. Separate thermostat controls for upstairs and the main floor. The only thing I would say is that the kitchen is not stocked with cooking spices, salt or oil. Towels, soap, shampoo, dish detergent, pots and pans, plates, utensils, a packet of coffee, coffee maker, single serve laundry detergent were provided.
Techwise, we had the Verizon 4GLTE wifi hotspot. CRT TV’s with DirecTV, VHS, DVD player, there was not much to watch, so if you wanna sit in front of the boobtube, bring some DVDs.
There are lots of cabins on the hillside and pretty close to town of Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Seiverville.
