You know when you just have a craving for a certain type of food? Well, I was having a hankering for Mexican Food for weeks and my cousin and I finally decided that we would get Mexican Food for NYE. It was my cousin, her boyfriend, myself, and my boyfriend, and we had an early reservation– around 6. It was super quiet in there which was AWESOME. On NYE, it’s hard to find restaurants that are a bit low key. Great atmosphere. Anyway, the point of this whole story is that the food was incredible! As soon as we were seated, we were given a generous helping of homemade tortilla chips and THEBESTHOMEMADESALSA. It was literally perfect. We went through two whole baskets of chips(to give you a sense of how delicious they were.) I ordered a frozen margarita which was perfect(it was the kind from a frozen drink machine.) I honestly don’t even remember what I ordered exactly… I think I got some variation of flautas and enchiladas which came with rice and beans and a spicy sauce on top. All I know is that this place totally hit the spot, and when I’m craving Mexican food again(which is actually right about now) I’ll definitely go back! PS The service was great, very quick, we had to wait barely anytime at all for our food.

Cute and tasty little Mexican restaurant and bar on the main drag in Piermont. The food is very good and the place has a nice laid-back atmosphere, especially when the weather is pleasant and you can sit outside on the porch. It’s not a big place, but that makes it even more quaint and there is a full traditional Mexican menu and the delicious food is modestly priced and the portions are generous. Also walking distance from the Pier and the equally delicious Flywheel Creamery for desert!

Great ambience! The food is great too. We really enjoy it here. Very reasonable prices.

Average Mexican restaurant in Piermont. The margaritas are nice but the food is uninspiring. The food was pre made and heated up. Nothing fancy but it does its purpose when you’re hungry.

So my boyfriends mother knows how much I fell in love with these camarones empanizado we had when we took a trip to mexico. She came home the other day all excited to tell me she had found a spot just like the«jungle»(a small shack off the side of the road in Isla Mexico that looked like you were entering the jungle that provided bug spray on the tables for your protection– they had the BEST shrimp ever!) and that we were going Friday night! Obviously I was super excited for this meal and it lived up to my expectations. We arrived around 7pm Friday night to a nearly empty restaurant. I was fine with that because we didn’t have to worry about getting loud which we tend to be. We grabbed a table inside, we had the option of sitting outside but it was getting a little chilly that night. We were seated rite away and our waiter came over to take our drink orders and he gave us fresh hot chips and amazing salsa. Their margaritas are pretty because they decorate the rim of the glass with red white and green salt! We toasted our friends engagement and looked over the menu. I asked the waiter for a suggestion on what to get as an appetizer to split for the table and he suggested the botana tequila which is a combination of nachos, chicken chimichangas, guacamole, and beef flatas topped with sour cream and pico de gallo. Everything was amazing, the nachos were crisp and had refried beans and cheese covering them, the chicken chimichangas were addictive and had a really nice flavor, the beef flatas were also really yummy and flavorful. The guacamole was probably the only thing on that plate that could of used a little help, the avocados were too chunky for me, I like a smoother guacamole. For my entrée I ordered the number 22 = camarones empanizado! 6 huge breaded and fried shrimp cooked to perfection and accompanied by rice, refried beans, a delicious green sauce for dipping in an edible tortilla chip cup and some sliced avocado. I felt like I was back in the jungle with the first bite. Pure bliss! My friend Joe ordered the enchiladas rojos and he really must of enjoyed it because there wasn’t a grain of rice left on his plate! I can’t wait to come back here and enjoy another amazing meal!

I love this place. I just want to start off by saying it is a little on the pricey side, but I think its worth it when you sit outside on a nice night. The inside is nothing great, pretty small. I definitely prefer the outdoor seating. I just went here over this past weekend with my Mom and I am going back in a few days with my girlfriends. My Mom and I both got beef tacos in the hard shell. SO good! The last one you eat gets a little soggy towards the end, but it is still great. We both don’t like re fried beans, so we got double rice. When I go with my girlfriends we get pitchers of margaritas and they’re very good. But, I got the red sangria once and really did not care for it. The guacamole is delicious and it usually gets served in this cool tortilla shell/bowl. The complimentary salsa is also delicious and has a very strong cilantro flavor, which I love. It is not spicy and that’s a plus because I can’t handle heat. Some Mexican places I can’t even enjoy the salsa and this is the best one I’ve had. I highly recommend this Mexican restaurant.

This place has a lot of potential. The ambiance is incredible sitting outside in Piermont in nice weather. However, the food is average — actually well below average at the price point. However, I’ll go everyday of the week because the truth is, it’s hard to find good Mexican in the Hudson Valley — this is as good as it gets! If I had a conversation with the owner, I’d say«the menu is too large, and none of the items are great. Shrink 4 pages down to 1 and knock it out of the park with every item on the list». Having lived in Texas, I’m a little picky with Mexican food. But what do I know.

Very pleased with service and food. Had a blackened T-Bone bistek. Great! Salsa well played! Definitely coming back.

My experience was colored by the fact that just as we walked up, the lights all over Piermont went out due to a thunderstorm. We sat on the deep covered porch and watched the rain come down. The staff brought drinks and gave us a choice of about twelve things they could still make without power. Pretty sure everybody enjoyed their food but we were also glad to be fed at all.

I have ordered take out from here 2 times so far. Both meals were delicious. The salsa is fresh and very flavorful. The enchiladas were very filling and the beans were perfect. I’m not a huge fan of the veggies in the rice, but it still tasted fine. If order take out, I recommend NOT getting something crunchy like tacos or flautas. The condensation from the takeout box makes it soggy. I recommend dining at the restaurant for the crunchy meals.

The only good thing about this place is the outside seating. Went here last night because the weather was fantastic and I was craving Mexican. The menu looked impressive. We were able to get w nice spot on the balcony. Gaspacho tasted like cold salsa out of a jar. Ordered ceviche Vallarta, they must have poured the whole can of cocktail sauce, it was so fishy I was afraid of food poisoning and stopped eating it after 2 bites. Now here comes enchiladas in molle sauce. Can’t mess that up right? Wrong! Zero flavor, it was so bland. The chicken and my husb’s pork in mole sauce was so hard. Bill came to 200 $ w drinks. The worst dinner I’ve ever spent my hard earned money on. I’ve been to playa del carmen, and other places in Mexico. This was a very poor imitation and greatly overpriced and flavorless. Would only recommend it if u want to get w few margaritas and sit outside.

I’ve been here for both dinner and a private party, and both times I was beyond impressed! Both the indoor and outdoor spaces are everything you would want from a quaint Mexican restaurant! The low-key atmosphere is perfected by the dim lighting & the décor. The open-air porch is gorgeous — one I would want in my own home and overlooks beautiful Piermont. The owner, Stefan, and his entire staff are attentive and fun. My water glass was never empty, and the Coronas & Margs are endless! Now THEFOOD. The cold shrimp salad is perfectly seasoned, the quesadillas are super cheesy, yet crunchy, and the chimichangas(I had the beef) are served on a bed of perfected nachos. I would absolutely recommend a dinner for 2, a dinner with friends and a private party here! Oh! And not sure who the musician was last night, the cute one with the beard and hat, but find out who THATGUY is and make sure he’s there when you book your party! ENJOY!

Tried to have an early dinner here on Saturday 10÷4÷2014 with friends. We sat outside on the deck and everything was very nice, quick service, appetizer(guac with crab meat) was good. Never got to taste my meal as the place quickly turned insane. One of the kitchen staff began attacking a member of the wait staff, slamming him against the wall in the dining room and threatening to kill him. This was done in full view of the patrons, which caused all of us to leave. Nobody else from the restaurant staff wanted to get involved, so they just stood there and watched. While walking down the block to the police station, the target of the attacks followed the patrons and attempted to get one of us to stand between him and his attacker. This caused the attacker to start to threaten not only his original target, but the patrons standing in the street. Thankfully the police came and diffused the situation. I would have preferred that the remaining restaurant staff had called the police earlier instead of a fellow patron calling as we walked away. In summary, who knows about the food, didn’t stick around as one employee assaulted and threatened to murder another.

I was very disappointed. Friday night 8÷15÷14 around 8PM. 1. This restaurant reminded me of a restaurant in Asia in the worst way. In Asia, they smoke like maniacs right on top of you while you’re eating! This place has a café downstairs where people are smoking outside and it makes it’s way throughout the whole porch. I am surprised my wife and I didn’t just leave, we should have! 2. The black bean soup was over blended and watery, completely lacking flavor. I asked for hot sauce, a very common thing to ask for in Mexican cuisine or so I thought. They brought me a Tobasco sauce with a broken cap & caked on crud(I wouldn’t touch it). They also brought me Chalula which is a nice mild sauce with a light kick, normally would’ve been fine. There was about one tablespoon left in the jar. By the time I tracked a bus boy down he brought me a brand new jar of another hot sauce(I forget the name) that was hotter(which I liked) & would have been ok if they just started with that one. 3. My wife had enchiladas in Mole(accent on the e). Which is a very typical cocoa based sauce that tasted chalky and flavorless . 4. I had burritos and they were ok, just ok. The chicken in both entrees was odd and I have no idea what parts they were at all. I hope this helps. Stay away!

Cute place. Has indoor and outdoor seating area with nice décor. Price — it is probably one of the more affordable places in this little town. The food is ok. I have been to many Mexican places and cannot say that this one had the best taste. It was slightly below average. The menu was big with repeating ingredients in different combinations. The margarita was good, well done and strong. I would come back for drinks. Service was average. The servers go in and out very fast. Need to be very sure of what you want because once the order is taken, it is sprinted to the kitchen. There was a bit of a language barrier with waiter which caused confusion but they were very accommodating of our requests once clarified.

I really wanted to like this place since it’s at the heart of beautiful Piermont NY and has an outdoor patio. However the food was mediocre at best. The best part of my meal was the ceviche appetizer everything else we had was pretty bland. The service was not so great either, our waiter seemed very rushed to take our order and didn’t really care to answer questions. I would not come back here

Had lunch here on a Sunday. Great service accommodating to our twin stroller sitting outside. Good margaritas, chips and salsa. Tamales were pretty good. Flautus not bad, chimichangas were smaller than expected but pretty good. I come from eating authentic Mexican food growing up. It’s not the absolute best I’ve ever had but definitely a place to go relax, sit outside and have some decent food and good drinks.

Deserving of its solid rating, the shrimp dishes are some of the better and more creative Mexican meals I’ve had. First the shrimp are huge. Second, the sauces and various veggie combinations are delicious — like a Mexican stir fry of sorts. I’ve tried several of the combinations and you can’t go wrong. The patio overlooks downtown Piermont and is a great setting for a drink.

The pluses: — Awwwwwwwwesome guacamole — Really good margaritas — Free chips and salsa — Big menu — Plenty of outdoor seating — Best Mexican food in the area The minuses: — Expensive — The interior doesn’t have the best ambiance Camarones Tapatios(shrimp in a green chili sauce) is delicious, but it’ll run you $ 20. Plenty of food to share, but sharing will run you an extra $ 3.50. I’ve also tried the chicken fajitas which are also delicious. They will also run you $ 20. There is also plenty of food to share, but sharing will also run you an extra $ 3.50. I recommend a half pitcher of margaritas, some guacamole, and perhaps a shared dish out on the deck if you visit. It’s pretty much worth it.

Solid, very solid indeed. There is a shortage of good Mexican food in the Bergen/Rockland area, so I am always on the lookout. This place is quite good. It’s more«Americanized Mexican Restaurant» than«authentic Mexican food», but that’s ok. They do a very good job with it. The food is excellent. They had tamales on the menu(not sure if that’s always, or just at Christmastime, but it was nice to have tamales at Christmastime in any case). Pleasant little space in an old house with wood floors and a fireplace. You can eat on the front porch in warm weather. Full bar. Private parking lot across the street(which is a nice thing, in Piermont, where parking can be in short supply).
