Stopped in to have breakfast and a beer. Log cabin type décor wooden tables, stained glass windows, dim lighting, nice looking bar. Breakfast was good,(a bit small on potato portions) service was good and a nice selection of music.

I didn’t actually visit the«Inn.» I was brought back lunch from some friends who went there for lunch. My friend texted me a picture of the menu and I saw it had«texas brisket» and I immediately said, «that, that, that.» since brisket is one of my favorite things. The sandwich was on a grilled and fully flavorful, thick sliced sour dough or maybe it was a French, bread. Whatever it was it made the sandwich that much more delicious. The first bite was amazing. It was hot, flavorful, tender and delicious. The meat was not covered or smothered in sauce or juice, it was just perfect, not to make the bread soggy or break apart. I can’t speak for the rest of the restaurant or their menu, but this sandwich was one of the best things I’ve eaten working down in the Montebello/Pico Rivera area for the last 6 months. Keep up the good work Tamarack. Marc D.

I came upon the Tamarak looking for new place had never been there before enjoyed the menu & watching football games so I went back a few times I was a new patron went to watch the S. C game very very disappointing their was hair in my friends plate patrons in restaurant were loud & swearing profusely not to mention the foul and filthy language from the women patrons as well I was shocked that a restaurant would allot that kind of volgarty I will never set foot in that place with its foul mouth patrons again actually felt bad for the bartender who had to put up with that filth it probably doesn’t matter but u lost a new customer & I will tell my friends to stay away from the foul mouth place…

My friend introduced me to this spot… Went a few times cause the music was cool and food was pretty good as well. I went back a couple of nights ago and ordered ribs with a side salad. Once I finished my salad, I brought my dish in front of me and I noticed a long hair in the sour cream of my baked potato. I called the waitress over and told her. She took my plate and went and told the cook. Much to my surprise, he sent her back to tell me it was MY hair but that he would make me another baked potato. How classless of him to have her tell me that all the while he is back and forth from the kitchen eating with his hands and going behind the bar etc. I wonder if he even washes them??? In addition to this happening. There were people in there so drunk and swearing up a storm but specifically one woman in the group right by us who was as vulgar as one could ever imagine!!! She talked about every body part and sexual experience as if she was preaching a sermon… Shame on this place(waitress and management) for allowing this type of behavior and continuing to serve people who are so intoxicated… Sorry but you just lost another customer…

If you are coming to have hard alcohol, go elsewhere, unless your rich. $ 9.00 for Jameson and Coke, well the Coke was free. Just Unilocal for Dive Bars and you we’ll find a place that was $ 4.00, embers. I like the vibe and music here but can not afford multiple rounds and I am rich.

Awesome owner and great service. I was there recently with a group of girl friends for dinner and karaōke. I’m a diabetic and I asked the bartender if they had low sugar cranberry juice for my cape code. The owner understanding my need immediately sent someone across the street to Ralph’s to get me some low in sugar cranberry juice so that I can be comfortable and have a drink with my friends. Now that’s customer service.

This is yet another great bar I’ve driven pass for years and finally stopped in for some beers with friends. Like many others I’ve reviewed, I wish I would have stopped in sooner. Upon entering, I was welcomed to the tune of oldies as well as the smell of BBQ. The décor of the Tamarack was that of an old cabin giving the feel of a cabin somewhere out in the snowy woods, or at least that’s what comes to the imagination. I was pretty hungry and I’d be lying if I said I only came for beers as I knew this place served BBQ prior to visiting as it is plastered all around the building. With that being said, plates were ordered along with brews. Our server who was also our bartender was great! She provided excellent service as well as gave great suggestions for plates to order. We had a few rounds of beers and a sampler platter before the main plates arrived. All I can say is the sausages are amazing!!! It was chow down time once the main plates arrived. The pulled pork was great, the brisket was soft and flavorful, but it was the ribeye that took the prize. This is was one of the best steaks I’ve had served up at a bar and was very reasonable in cost. After eating, we decided to stay and have more drinks. The Tamarack Inn is a great bar for food, drinks and just having a great time in general. Dinner 8÷15÷2015

Was looking for a place for a happy hour drink and a light snack while visiting my family and went to this local watering hole. Not many people here on this Monday around 5:30 pm. Probably still working or stuck in traffic or waiting for $ 2 Tuesdays here. The décor looked like a log cabin somewhere in the cold woods, but it was warm outside so I had a cold beer and ordered the brisket sandwich, which I shared with my lady. That would have been enough for us, but we decided to also have potato skins. That filled us up. The brisket sandwich was tasty and juicy. The potato skins were good but a little over cooked with too much cheese and bacon. Probably better for a group of four and not two. My lady had a michelada and she said it was perfectly spicy, like me. Overall a good choice. Will return.

I had a meeting in Pico Rivera that ended right at lunch time. I thought about traveling back to the office because along the way I could eat at any number of my go-to lunch spots. I was unfamiliar with PR and concerned about encountering a food desert where my only options are chain restaurants. I’m glad I used my Unilocal ap to find this spot. Allow me to provide a quick recap. The CONs: the bathroom is dated, and the dining area had a hint of Pine-Sol /grease(I got flashbacks of my oldest auntie’s house). The PROs, The staff is very friendly, and the food was great. I settled on the Brisket sandwich and it was almost slap-yo-momma good. After I took my first bite, everything else fell to the wayside. If you are an above average high maintenance type of person, then you may be happier at a starbucks. But if you are i) not too high maintenance, ii) like local spots(i.e. non-chain restaurants, iii) like bbq, then this is a good spot. There was a lunch menu, which I appreciated, but let’s face it, I’m a grown man and ½ sandwich & salad would not cut it. I’m glad I ordered the full brisket sandwich. The prices are fair, and the sandwich was pretty stacked with meat, similar to a deli style. Based on the number of TV’s I figure this is a good spot to catch a game. I wonder if the have TWC? Go Dodgers! I’ll let the locals weigh in on the after hours vibe, I only feel comfortable talking about the lunch scene. Next time I’m in PR I’ll definitely hit up the Tamarack!

More bar than BBQ. Food was«ok». Not the cute great BBQ place you might think it is driving by the place. If you were looking for a dive bar, this could be your place. That all said, I was expecting to find a good BBQ place and it is NOT that!
