I live out of town, but come here for meetings. Their dip with the wine is outstanding. their food menu is a waste of money. Just average. On several occasions did not feel well after eating. I will just stick to flights. Also the wine glasses need to be cleaned better or wiped with a towel. Not a pretty sight for the money. the restaurant though has a great atmosphere and we hope it does well as when we have meetings in the area it is a nice place to go.

If based solely on our last experience here, this would be a 1 – 2 start review, but because we have enjoyed quality food here before I will give it 3 stars. To start on a positive note, the atmosphere in the wine guy is always nice, Our server was great, and the wine was good. The food was awful. I don’t know what happened? We used to thoroughly enjoy the quality of food at the wine guy… I don’t know what changed in the kitchen or if it was just an off night but they were 0 for 4 in satisfaction from our table. Some of the worst parts… The sea bass special was an overpriced, small, and bland piece of fish… The lobster meat in the lobster tacos was good but it was drowning in a spicy mayo sauce that made it hard to even taste the lobster and it was served with completely tasteless rice, and the«red skinned potatoes» that were supposed to be served with the raspberry glazed salmon were literally the hash brown potato chunks you buy frozen in the bag and serve at breakfast… Not kidding. The food was totally overpriced for the quality of what we received. Very disappointed and hoping this was just an off night as wine guy used to be one of my go to places for a nice dinner out in pickerington.

I was very disappointed with my meal. I ordered the salmon and it was really dry. The menu said it would be served with red skinned potatoes, however it came with what looked and tasted like hash browns from the frozen food section. My husband ordered a pepperoni flatbread that tasted worse than a frozen pizza. It was New Years Eve, so maybe the regular chef and manager weren’t there, but still no excuse for how bad the food was. I won’t be coming back.

Wow! Not sure where to begin. I rarely leave reviews and never have left a bad review. That should tell how bad this was. There were 4 adults and 3 kids in our party. Our wives arrived 20 mins ahead of us and were seated when we arrived. They had already picked out a couple bottles of wine. Twenty minutes later the waiter arrived and filled our water glasses and took our order. I guess taking the menus away after that would have been a crazy idea as he didn’t bother. We were told the bartender would be over to open the wine for us. The waiter never asked if our kids wanted anything other than water. I finally went and stood at the bar for 7 minutes before the bartender asked if I needed anything. We finally got the red wine opened after that and it only too 35 minutes from the time we selected it. The white was put in the blast chiller for«10 or 12 minutes». 22 minutes later we asked about our white wine and«they were just about to get it». Our food came, it took 45 minutes to get it from the time we ordered. Our bills were not split right and the waiter was indifferent. No apologies were offered and no one really seemed to care. What really sucked is that they put the 18% gratuity in our bill. The entire meal took 2.5 hours and it should have taken half of that. I will never return.

The wine and cheese spread was amazing. I would tell you to do a wine flight and then pick the one you like best to get a bottle of. However, the food was lackluster. It was much to expensive for the low quality that is served. I would stick with the drinks and grab dinner elsewhere. The staff was very polite and professional.

Was yummy but the hubby was disappointed with the serving size of beer. Served a draft beer in a 10 oz glass.

It’s been years since I’ve been here, but it’s still a nice place to enjoy a good wine flight and some food. The patio area is perfect on a nice evening. I ordered the red pepper bruschetta and a salad with green apples and goat cheese. I’ve had better salads, but again it wasn’t bad. I would go here more for the wine and maybe a light appetizer versus a full dinner. Overall, a decent four star place.

Let me start by saying I don’t normally come here for dinner. I usually sit at the bar, have a glass(or three) of wine and an appetizer. I have always had a really good experience and the wine is always amazing. Tonight we decided to go for dinner, so we sat at a table in the dining area. Our server was very attentive and helpful. The wine we chose was also a hit, but the food was very disappointing. I had the salmon and my fiancé had the crab cakes. They both tasted like dinner you would throw together at home. I’m pretty sure my salmon was just thawed out that day. The bread appetizer we got; however, was really good. Other than the food, we ha a great time. The atmosphere is cozy and quiet. A perfect spot for intimate conversation. The wine selection is huge and the service is outstanding. Very attentive and very knowledgeable. If they could just get their food together this place would be perfect.

So if you are looking for wine or craft beers, this place is for you. The staff is very knowledgable and very friendly. The knock on this place is from a vegetarian perspective, because there is not a lot of options for the vegetarian crowd. The food is decent, but not mind blowing.

Made a reservation for New Year’s Eve in early December. Should have had a clue at that time that this would not be a great experience. I told the person(I think the manager) that we had 6 definite and possibly 8 for New Years. I was told that I should call back when I knew for sure and to do it soon as reservations would fill up. I insisted that I wanted the reservation for 6 now and if I needed to increase, I would call back and check if they had room for the increase. When asked what time, I asked for 8PM and was told the last reservation would be 7:30 as he wanted to close up by 9:30 and that if we were not done by 9:30…we would be asked to leave so his employees could get to their parties. I thought this odd, as you are either open for New Year’s Eve business or not… but I said 7:30 would be fine and 2 hours should be plenty of time to chat and enjoy dinner with our friends. Boy was I wrong! Service was HORRIBLE… One member ordered a drink from their«full bar» After 10 minutes he was told they did not have sour mix. So he ordered a glass of White Zinfandel. Another 10 minutes goes by and he is told«they do not have any opened bottles chilled» and he could not get any unless he ordered a bottle. He asked for the«drink list» mentioned on the menu… again 10 minutes later she brought the list and he orders a drink. It is now 8PM. We asked the server if we could order at this time… We then waited 20 minutes for appetizers(2 bread plates and an order of mussels)…8:20 Another 25 minutes and dinner was served to all but one of us…8:45 At 9:15 the missing meal was served and«comped»…we asked that it be boxed up as the rest of us were done eating. We left at 9:30 without the boxed meal as it never came back. The food was good, a little pricey but we will never go back to the Pickerington restaurant.

Gone way downhill. Not only was the food just ok, the service was terrible! We waited forever for any service while all of the staff were entertaining personal conversations. With all of the other options in Pickerington they need to at least try. Unfortunately sure we won’t be back.

While I was at a cabin with some girlfriends before our wedding this summer, my(now) husband claimed to have had the best steak of his life when he and his parents went to The Wine Guy together. They raved of exceptional service, great food, and an overall fun time. For months, we’ve been aiming to get back there since it was such a good experience for them. Last night, we finally made it in. As many other tables finished up their dinner, the ambiance changed as the sounds of the restaurant went from chit chat to The Game(OSU v. Penn State) which I’m assuming was playing in the bar area(totally didn’t expect sports bar vibes to trickle into the dining room). Drinks were good. The flights of wine seem like the best way to go; the chance to try four wines while not breaking the bank. The food, however, was less than impressive, especially after the raving reviews I’ve been hearing. Our expectations were high, and we were let down with the food. We shared a goat cheese, apple salad and a grilled beef filet. The salad needed some pepper, which we had to ask for. The steak came out overcooked, but they were very accommodating about bringing us a new one-much better, though still not hitting the target like the previous(last visit there) had. Our favorite item of the night turned out to be the asparagus that came with the steak. It was cooked perfectly. We split sides of: beer mac-n-cheese, which among our table had mixed reviews… but I liked it; and Brussels sprouts, which had tangy sour flavor(sauerkraut-ish) with bacon… my husband liked those. My father-in-law got the spicy shrimp dinner. While the shrimp itself was excellent, I found the pasta to be a bit bland(there was a very generous portion). Mother-in-law got the pepperoni flatbrad pizza, which was on an extremely soft crust; it was a nice size, but the pepperoni was a bit sparse. We really prefer to support local businesses, so we came here over the multitude of chain restaurants that are synonymous with the suburbs. But I’m not sure we’ll be back.

Wow! My third visit to the wine guy. My brother took me here For my 50th Birthday. I had a great time and the food was great. Then a friend and I came and had a flight of wine and appetizers had a very nice time. Well tonight’s visit 6÷18÷14 will be my last! I have never been treated so rudely in restaurant ever. A group of friends and colleagues meet tonight. The GM told us if we moved from our seats we would receive one bill. Then when I started to order a glass of wine. He told me that if I were to order more than one it would be less expensive to order a bottle. So I ordered a bottle. My dinner was not put in with the rest of our group said the GM. So he offered me a bowl of bisque. I said sure thank you. Another one of our group came in late and he tried to sell her an incorrect order that just came out. Well now is when the bad part started. One of the people in our party received her check. She told me that the same bottle of wine I had ordered was $ 33 on her check. So before I received my check I was asking the GM about it. This is when he became unglued. He started shaking the menu at me. Calling me Sweetheart saying it is on the menu in big letters. He was going to call the cops on me. He did not even listen to my question. He told me to never show my face in there again. And oh I will not! He then brought my check and I looked at it and it wss not $ 33 like the other person in our party stated but $ 23 as I had expected. I tried to speak to the GM. And he was rude mean and embarrassed me again. Screaming he was calling the cops and for me to never show my face in there again. He never listened to me at all turning his head and telling me to leave. This went on longer as he took the check from me up front and changed it. Not what I was asking him to do at all. He was not interested I what I was saying. Just yelling at me. I was there from 5:30 to 7:30 drank one and half glasses of wine and left the bottle there. HEIS correct I will never come back. These were friends and colleagues I have never been so humiliated! I hope something is done about this kind of treatment. I tried to find an email address online to contact the company. Just found a number for were I just left. Can not very well call it.

I wish i’d gone there year ago when they opened initially, what a fantastic experience, and an amazing unique local place. I’m so glad we went, we will be back. I can’t think of one thing i’d change or make any better than it was, just fantastic! Also had the pleasure or meeting Jeffro on this first visit. Jeffro’s vast knowledge of all items wine related was seemingly endless. He was able to help guide us to an ideal choice for our meals, wines, and had a blast in the process. Keep doing what you’re doing, because you’re doing it so right!

The food was good and I liked my wine though I’m no expert in wine tasting. I did not give 5 stars because it takes forever for the waiter to come though he looked nice. And a waiter who served thetable next to us was forever there and he was hitting on the women there(which is interesting to observe and we were thinking which woman he was most interested in…). Maybe he was their friends, but the service definitely needs some improvement. PS: LOVE the molten lava cake!!!

The quality of food ingredients was very good, actually, fish, shrimp, and veggies were so fresh! Also, the presentation was very nice. But, the way of cooking was questionable. Too much thick breaded on zucchini and fish, and they absorbed a lot of olive oil and became mushy and heavy… I hope they stop too much relying on breading.

Excellent place to eat. Took my wife for a nice evening out and had a great time. We were surrounded by wine while we ate, which I thought was awesome. We started with the meatball appetizer; you received 3 huge meatballs with sauce. They melted in your mouth. Then I had the hamburger and my wife had the bacon wrapped prawns. Excellent food and service. Great place for an intimate dinner or group gathering!
