Uptown Cheapskate of North Phoenix

This was my first time in the store and they get five stars. The customer service was great, they were quick and friendly (I was selling). The store looks very up scale and clean, you would never guess that they were selling used items. I will definitely do business there again!

I just went here this evening and I had been really excited to check it out as I live right next door to it and I love thrifting. I was so shocked by how large it was when I walked in and how professional it all looked. There were multiple high value brands, most pieces (I was looking mainly in the dress range) for no more than $ 14, and although there were so many options, I ended up finding my homecoming dress for $ 12! And when I went up to the register, the girls working were so friendly and I got so many discounts. I will for sure be coming back! :)

CHEAPSKATE is the perfect name for this place! They have never once taken any items and are always rude!!! I have brought several high end items in and they never take them!

I love this place! Punch cards, 15% off during your birthday month, original finds, good quality stuff, name brands for cheap??? SOLD! I always find something here that I like and the gals that work there are all so nice and helpful! It’s refreshing walking into a retail store and not having to deal with snooty girls. lol. I’ll definitely be back :)

Took in a FULL trash bag of stuff I was tired of taking up space that I wasn’t wearing. I had never sold to Uptown Cheapskate before, but a friend suggested I take my stuff there. Walked in and both girls working said hello (with smiles!) and helped me with the selling process. I wandered the store while they looked through my stuff– they have a pretty good selection of clothes! They bought 95% of the things I brought in, and gave me more than I expected! I’ve had experience with a different consignment shop where they hardly buy anything and want to give you nothing… So I had low expectations. But this shop surpassed my expectations and I will definitely be back to shop and sell!
I know one girls name was Mystic– so thank you! I will definitely keep you guys in mind when it’s time to swap out the wardrobe, and suggest you to other friends!

The prices are amazing. I got a bunch of miss me jeans and other items for only 20 bucks. I even found a betsey bag for under 10 bucks. What a steal. Super nice environment. Love this store.

Let me start by saying that I am fashionably challenged. I’m not into the current trends or what’s «in style». I’m a comfort and functionality girl, if it happens to be in style, that’s just a bonus for me. I generally know WHAT looks good… I just don’t know HOW to make things look good. Because of this, I never go shopping without taking a friend with me, because I don’t know how to piece outfits/​accessories together.
Having said that, I got bored one day and decided to try shopping on my own. I’m also a cheapskate (no pun on the name of the store intended). Because fashion isn’t a huge deal to me, I don’t like spending a lot of money to look good. I’d sold a few things at Uptown before they opened to the public (that was a great experience too!) and I loved the stuff I saw. So I went shopping all by myself. Mind you, I’m 30 and have had maybe one or two other successful solo shopping trips, ever.
The girls in the store were a HUGE help. Leah first approached me to see if I needed any help, I did! She helped me pick out a few things and told me how a few shirts «worked» that didn’t make sense to me. I tried everything on and came out to show Leah every time. By the third or fourth outfit, Mystic was also helping out. Both girls were super patient with me and my many, many stupid questions. They would both run and grab things for me that they thought may go better. They also told me how to accessorize outfits. But above all, they were honest with me! If something didn’t look good on me, they told me (in a very sweet way) that that piece probably wasn’t the best option for me. This was the most appreciated help I could have ever received. Generally sales associates tell you everything looks good. Then you go home or show a friend and they make a funny face and tell you to return it. Having Mystic and Leah’s help was like shopping with a good friend!
I left that day with a $ 96 bill. I bought: a super nice, warm coat…4 shirts… a maxi skirt… and the cutest scarf I’d ever seen. I wished the owner of the store had been there that day so I could tell them how great Leah and Mystic were. But, since she wasn’t…here I am. :) You’ve got some great employees who really know what it means to help a customer! Thanks to Leah and Mystic for the great service and sorry it’s taken me a couple of weeks to post this!

Super excited to have this store open up in my neighborhood! Very clean store, friendly staff.

This place opened near my neighborhood and I had some clothes not being worn, waiting to be sold so I thought I’d give it a try. At this point, they are not open yet but are buying clothes. I had two pairs of Citizens of Humanity jeans, a pair of Sevens (all three in really great shape) and an unworn, with tags Brixton fedora. The ladies behind the counter took my clothes and told me to look around while they decided on ‘what they’d take’. I began to peruse the
clothing racks with items waiting to be sold to the public. I was very shocked at their idea of designer clothing. Merona for one. Really, a Target brand? They also had mounds of the athletic brand from Target in their workout clothing section. I love my Target. Love it. But I don’t go into a ‘designer’ consignment store and look to find brands from Target and Kohls. Don’t let me forget to mention they have knockoff, lookalike designer bags available. Icing on the cake — for clothing that added up to over $ 500 retail, they gave me $ 25 store credit and $ 20 cash.
Don’t waste your time selling your clothes here. My Sister’s Closet and Poor Little Rich Girl offer a much larger selection of upscale clothing at great prices PLUS you get more value for your sell.
