Fun time they charge for everything but worth it. Was seated by the window with the tv and it was a lot of fun. Didn’t win but would still come back

I haven’t been here in almost 30 years when I was a kid. I remember how fun it was coming here all the time and playing in the grass on the left side.
They haven’t made a change here since they first built this place, its so out dated its not funny. its falling apart.
The track looks great but the building itself is complete garbage.

This place is a little bit run down but is the only game in town for live horse races. Parking is free and the entry price, beer and food are cheap.
There really aren’t any lines to place a bet most days and you can bet on the live races as well as races simulcast from other tracks.

It’s a nice place for families and kids. Not an 18+ atmosphere. The food is ok, prices aren’t bad, but I am not sure I would ever come back. Suggestion: invest a little money in your property. The chairs are all busted up, faded and cracked. If you are lucky enough to get an arm rest it’s rotted and flaking particle board. I think this place could be a fun place to go from time to time if it had a major face lift.

First time to the track. It was fun, fun, fun. Learned a bit about how to read a form and place a bet… even won one race. I was surprised how reasonable this adventure was. A $ 5 entry fee to the Turf Club on weekends, free when open weekdays (seniors). Food is reasonable and better than average. Once in, you can wander around, go the the Finish Line, the paddock, watch the people. I sat at a window table, with a TV to watch the races as they occurred, if that is how you want to look at the races. Did that for awhile, then wandered. Eight races and if you want to bet you can for $ 2 and maybe win a few. The grounds are a bit worn but that is OK, they are clean, the services are good. Lots of interesting people to look at. An enjoyable afternoon, I will go back again.

This place is very dated. Needs some major renovations but I had a good time nonetheless. Horse racing isn’t the most exciting sport but the atmosphere of this place was neat. Ice cream sundae was delicious. With not so many options in Arizona, I’d probably be back but not in the summertime.

We used a living social discount to snag a nice deal. It was about 20 bucks for two clubhouse seats, a 10 dollar food credit, free popcorn, desert and program. Neither of us had been to this race track before, but it turned out to be a very enjoyable afternoon at the races. You get to keep your seats the whole day (9 races) and you can wander in and out. As for the food, it was a good lunch. My burger was good enough and the chips were house chips were crisp. The BLTA also received no complaints and those sweet potato fries were tasty and hot. Tough choice on the free desert, but the apple crisp and ice cream turned out just fine. Now, if I could only pick horses like coupon deals, I would be much better off.

I have been coming out to Turf a few times a season for the last couple years. As a fairly seasoned horse racing fan, I will give you the real.
Yes, its old, old as the people who are here on a everyday basis. The building needs an upgrade but the vintage/​classic look has more upside than you would think
The food is not the greatest, its a horse track. Even if your a baller spending about $ 9 for a fancy spot, the food is still avg, because its a horse track, in Arizona!
I would suggest having lunch before you come and maybe have some popcorn or a hotdog to help with the booze.
The Booze, oh yeah, should get to that.
Stay away from the draft beer inside, not sure the last time they cleaned the taps but I won’t make the mistake of a draft again. Mixed drinks are typical, outside you can get a pretty good bloody mary between $ 5-​$ 7.
Speaking of outside, if you are with a group that is just hanging for the afternoon, hang out at the bars outside for the awesome cost of $ 2 admission, can’t beat it.
Now when it comes to the betting, if you are looking to make a lot of money, would suggest looking at the tracks on the TV’s inside, your payout is based on how much is put on the type of bet within that race, and at Turf, its not a lot. Best way to make a lil money is group your bets with friends and double down, but watch your kitty, only bet 10% of your betting money total per race. Just a thought.
Also, Turf is so up and down you are prolly best just betting on a horse by its name, real talk.
So don’t get your hopes up and expect the worst and you will have blast.

So less a gripe about the establishment which is old and unsafe. The stairs of the restaurant don’t have any railings which make it tough on elderly. The beer was warm and the food was terrible. We ordered 3 meals and had to send 2 back. To top it off, the second race a horse got hurt. It got up, but they used 2 giant black barriers around it. I thought to calm the horse, but the waitress told me no, they were going to put it down and use the ambulance to carry it off. Hard to explain this to my son. Terrible… so sad! Quick search and apparently it happens all the time. 47 horses killed at Turf Paradise in 2014… crazy.

Place is ok, they only take cash. Crowded at times and lots of cigerettes smokers. Not the best time I’ve ever had and its about 5 $ for one beer. Probably wouldn’t go again.

As a Chicago native, I’ve been spoiled with the luxury of Arlington Park. That being said, our Phoenix track is pretty damn cool. Great for families, lots of room for kiddos to run.
Yes, it’s in desperate need of a facelift, but I kind of like being transported back in time. It’s not dirty, just well-​used, and the actual track is great. It’s dirt cheap to get in, $ 2 almost every day. Drinks and food are not unreasonable, especially when you compare it to other sporting venues. They have lots of special events and fun outings.
(Hey owners, if you’re reading this, you could totally up the entry to $ 5 or more and people wouldn’t complain. Would give ya some money to do some updates, as much as we love the vintage theme.)
I’m an equine photographer and love to take photos at this track. The private patios are my favorite spots for shooting and viewing, right near the walking ring and saddling stalls. A tip: for ‘off’ days, you can get into the Clubhouse and Turf Club for free. When it’s hot or rainy, you can sit, eat and cheer, all out of the elements.
«A bad day at the racetrack is better than a good day anywhere else.» I heartily agree. For $ 2, hard to beat a day Turf Paradise and you don’t even need to bet.

Took a trip to Glendale Arizona for a Cardinals game so my brother and I had a free Saturday. We decided to go bet on the ponies at Turf Paradise. We both had a real good time eating their food from their club house and making some money from a few bets we hit. Their chili dogs are awesome and huge. The track itself has seen better days as it needs a facelift as everything looks from another era. But in a strange way this added to the uniqueness of the experience. There was alot of people as it was a Saturday so atmosphere was electric. Definitely look forward to going again soon for their Kentucky Derby party May 2^nd. I heard it is really fun and definitely the place to be on the first Saturday in May. See you again soon Turf Paradise.

Visited here for a work outing. Pretty fun, definitely old and could use some work. Nothing like the «big» horse tracks but good fun, good prices and good racing. I’d visit again, maybe once a year type thing, kudos! Sounds like they have some discount days, those are probably the best if you aren’t really into the whole betting thing.

We really like to spend a few hours at Turf Paradise, do a little gambling, eat some lunch and look at all the beautiful horses.

Went on a weekday afternoon while visiting from out of town. Decent drinks, stadium food, and gorgeous views while being entertained in the sunshine! Love it, the track is stunning.

This place could definitely use an interior upgrade. Went on a weekday and parking and seating not so busy/​packed. The experience is fun which is why I gave it a 3. Food is so-​so but nothing special.

A great Derby Day event!!! We always have a huge group that goes and we’re VIP sat in our own private section. The drink service is good, but naturally slow bc the place is packed! 2 years in a row our group has won best dressed!!! Derby on!!! Or «Talk Derby to me»

I have been to turf many times before. I love going to the track, drinking a few beers and eating a cheap hotdog. Gambling on live action is always a blast and I always have a great time.
The drawback to turf is that the place is in desperate need of a complete overhaul. I just wish someone would come in and invest into the track to fix the place up. With the great weather we have here it would be nice to have a show piece race track like other tracks.
If you ever need something to do that doesn’t cost a ton of money this is it. Go enjoy a day at the track.

What a great little race track. The people are so friendly and we always like coming here when Del Mar isn’t open.
Though really quiet compared to other tracks, my only worry is that this track will succumb to the same fate as Hollywood Park :-(

I was not feeling the crowd (waaay out of my age range and I’m old *Yikes*) maybe it was the day we chose to come? Who knows…
Service sucked. The waitress forget our order and 45 min (YES, 45 min) went by and we had no food until we stopped her. Nothing was comped. We ordered Salad’s and Sandwiches. Wait, I think… Ugh, what does it matter won’t be going back.
This place needs a remodel.
