ToFixIt!

I used a Tofixit appliance repair company and was not satisfied. Why doesn’t Tofixit have any place on their website where a user can advise them of dissatisfaction with one of the recommended companies and why dissatisfied? I will never use their recommendations again. Tofixit evidently doesn’t want feedback which makes one wonder if there is some kind of payoff here to get your name on the list.
I think Terri O needs to consider who she is going to stump for on TV.

I do my research before I hire anyone. To fixit lists George Brazil right on the top of the page with their logo. You would be led to believe they were reputable. Check George Brazil’s rating on Unilocal.Not only is Tofixit a total scam but George Brazil is as well. I have a purpose, to expose this company as a total fraud.

This referral service is pretty much worthless. It appears to be a site for advertisers who are not researched or vetted. So, I received an email from ToFixIt along with 4 ads/​listings with coupons on 2÷27÷2015. One of the companies was for glass and mirror replacement. I called the company (True View Windows in Phoenix) and asked for a quote to remove a vanity mirror in a bathroom — 4′ x 8′ from the wall. This is a job which takes between 30 — 60 minutes by a professional. The telephone quote I receive was $ 395.00. I told the receptionist I thought that was very high and that I would like to speak with the owner. I was told the owner was out of town and couldn’t be reached. Then I asked to speak with a Supervisor – of course none was available and I asked for a return phone call – one week later – still no response. Of course, any company can charge what they want but every company should at the very least return phone calls they commit to make and this includes the folks at ToFixIt.
Then I called the Phoenix Office of ToFixIt and spoke with Debbie. I asked to speak to the person in charge of complaints about people who they list on ToFixIt. I was told the person had left for the day. I never heard back from ToFixIt so I called Debbie again this morning – one week later – and pretty much got nowhere.
In comparison to AngiesList, ToFixIt has a long way to go. The local ads for this referral service now make me laugh as they have no credibility. I’ll stick with Angie’s List in the future. Like «Steve B» on 1÷19÷2014 I gave them one star because there is nothing lower.

I called the Handy Men service in Gilbert to replace slats in an RV gate and walk through gate, a total of 42. They told me they need a full 8 hours to do the job at a cost of almost $ 1000! This is twice the cost of other estimates. Outrageous !

I went to the To Fix It website looking for a company to repair our fireplace. Their website said that their companies respond within one to two days. Well, two weeks later we finally received an email from a fireplace repair/​service business stating that they had no information as to what type of service we required. All this was included in our initial request so I guess it wasn’t passed along to them. After giving them details about the fireplace they responded with an email saying we should contact a chimney sweep. It seems this fireplace service could only help if we wanted to convert to gas. I would question their vetting process after this experience. I would say «trust certified» is nothing more than a made up term with very little to back it up.

They were super helpful in helping me find several contractors when i was doing a remodel. Everyone they sent did really high quality work and were reasonable priced (i got several bids for most jobs). If you need a contractor, tofixit is definitely a good starting place.

the star I have to give is meant to be a negative one. I called them up to get a referral for an electrician and they gave me two numbers. One of them was for «Tap and Sons». I made an appointment with them and they gave me a 3 hour window. So I drove to the property, waited for about 4 hours and nobody showed up. They didn’t even call to explain why or to apologize.
When I called «To Fix It» they were not interested at all in my feedback.

To Fix It needs to look closer when promoting companies. For instance, they are promoting ALCOA LANDSCAPE SPECIALISTS — this company is a complete scam.
They hire sub-​contractors (not a problem with that) — however they do not pay their sub-​contractors. — this has been a problem for a long time — in fact, they have already lost one ROC license because of all the complaints from both sub-​contractors and customers — now they have a new license in his wife’s name. His name is Alvin Ross — BEWARE of him and his company — ALCOA LANDSCAPE SPECIALISTS.
Anyone who hire him, runs the risk of having a mechanics lien placed on their home because the sub-​contractors need to be paid.
All of this can be verified — information is public at the ROC and just look at the complaints already posted online.

«To Fix It» has LOST ALL CREDIBILITY! What a bunch of scam artists. Can someone say, HUGE CONFLICT OF INTEREST?! So, they own Parker and Sons? Check out their ratings on Google Maps. ABYSMAL!
Also, they list their «preferred providers» only to those that have paid the most to advertise? Give me a break. Sure, that Terri O. is a cute older lady, but I don’t know how she sleeps at night promoting such a corrupt practice. Total money $$ monger. Enjoy your diamonds Terri O. from all the poor working folks getting ripped off by Parker and Sons and companies like them on your «To Fix It» (or shall I say «To Get Ripped Off») list.

I like how Parker and Sons and ToFixIt! are owned by the same people yet they pretend like they’re a referral service. I didn’t think Parker and Sons did bad work or anything, its just a little seedy to pretend you’re recommended by an unrelated referral service. It makes me refuse to use Parker and Sons or anyone in the ToFixIt! service.

What a joke! Where do I begin? They advertise that they chose the best in the area for you… HA! It goes to the highest bidder. They contact businesses and ask them to pay to be added to their list. The best part is this not only does it go to whomever wants to pay but they buy zip codes?! So if your business is in 85 015 and you are targeting 85 015 and 85 013 you pay to be the preferred business for both zip codes or as many as you are willing to pay for! I wouldn’t use this service ever after finding out this little tidbit.
