AC is constantly going out. No communication from the staff to the residents. Excited for my lease to end

This is my first time renting an apartment EVER and the AC sucks. My small studio that I’m paying way to much for is over 90 degrees for sure inside! I have my two year old with me and it sucks that he has to sit in this hot apartment. I’ve asked the facilities to come and fix it for about a week and still no cold air!!! Can you imagine coming home from a 114 hot day into your hot apartment as well? No. I’m Looking forward to getting out of here as soon as possible!

I’m not usually one to complain, but something has got to give. They keep raising prices, and no improvement. Ok, so they’ve resurfaced the pool, renovated the main office, and threw on a fresh coat of paint on the building. That’s about the only positives I can report.
Negatives: Security guards text on their phone all night. Completely false sense of security. Things break and are left this way for several days or weeks, and each time you inquire it’s some vague answer. Laundry room smells like mold all the time. Gates and doors are left broken open or with locks torn out, so no security there. They keep increasing prices, but I see no improvements. Parking is a nightmare. There is a bees nest outside my unit that I reported days ago, still no response and now they’re getting between my screen and window. Every time the price is raised, quality goes down another notch.
I really hate to be «that guy» that blasts a business on a public forum, but sometimes if you’re being ignored, you have to shout to get someone’s attention.

Don’t live here if you can help it. They have 8 spots of visitor parking for the entire compound. So over 400 people and only 8 are allowed visitors. Talked to the office and he was aware that the visitor spots are always taken no matter what time of day it is, don’t even think about having anyone visit you period while living here. Their car will get towed. I said so how am I supposed to have guests over? He replied it was outlined in the lease visitors can’t park in the normal spots, ok and the visitors spots are taken ²⁴⁄₇ so what do you expect residents to do, hope and pray their friends don’t get towed. Funny part is they towed when the parking lot was nearly completely empty, so it’s not like your taking a spot away from anyone, wow can’t wait till lease is up.

Moved to the property in February when Mark Taylor was managing. Since then a new management company has taken over and it’s awful. None of the staff knows what is going on. Work orders are not being completed. I’ve had one in for my toilet for 3 weeks now. The path and pool lights have been out for months which has been dangerous when coming home at night. The treadmills in the fitness center have been broken for weeks. The office likes to randomly close in the middle of the day or early. Definitely not happy here. Regret my decision. I would not recommend living here.

Something is always needing repair here. The A/​C is only flowing into the living room and the guest bedroom, it’s always hot in the master bedroom! They have made it difficult for residents in the magenta section to do laundry, due to the fact there is no way to add money to the laundry cards because the machine was taken out of the leasing office. The only way residents in this magenta section can do laundry is be walking or driving to the other sections of the complex to use their debit cards to do laundry in the newly installed machines that don’t need the old laundry cards. I’ve tried using the active building app to pay rent and it’s only allowing me to pay 2 weeks out from the due date which make me way past the due date. Originally I lived in the orange section and wanted to have more space, I relocated to the magenta apartments. My partner and I cleaned the apt and had spoken to the staff about any charges we may have if we move. The staff we spoke with said there would be no charge for relocating, there would only be charges when we move out of the magenta apartments when we decide to leave this apartment complex. After all that we were still charged a cleaning fee. Sometimes our rent fluctuates, when we ask a the staff about what the increase in rent is, they have no answers! I’ve never lived somewhere with so much inconsistency! There’s been many amendments to our lease since Mark Taylor has taken over managing this complex. The plumbing sucks! As a resident I don’t like checking my mail and seeing or smelling over flowed sewage, and stepping in it for that matter. Currently the side walk lamps are out in my section, as well as the porch light in front of my door. There’s a shortage of parking spaces and visitor parking!!! Cars are being hit and towed due to the lack of parking.

This has been by far the shadiest property I’ve ever lived in there were so many constant issues while living here I dealt with everything from roaches to the Ac not working to my water always not working, and to top it off after my lease was about to end I go in to speak to the original manager Dominique to give her notice of my leaving the property after the end of my lease well before my lease ended I go to pay which is already ridiculous in itself the 187.00 they want to charge me for 7 days of living there they now tell me that I never gave her notice and now want to charge me for another full month of rent. I am now being punished for their managements fault as I was told she should have provided me with documentation to sign and have an inspection done. I was never given anything from her and after that I repeatedly reached out to a Matt Rodgers who is their property manager who repeatedly ignored all of my calls and emails and voicemails until I reached out to the corporate office of which he then lied and said he had been in communication with me which he never once did, there is some shady business practices going on there DO NOT LIVE HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF AND WANT TO LIVE WITH ROACHES NO HEAT NO COLD AIR NO RUNNING WATER AND TINY SPACES! I was a perfect resident paying my rent EARLY and in full and in the end treated like a liar and disrespected by their management. I will continue to share my story with the mass media and social media outlets so this doesn’t happen to anyone else.

The location is good. The climate control is a disaster. They only either have heating or a/​c available before switching between the two. It’s February. My window is open, and I have a fan blowing. At 10:45 PM it’s over 80 degrees in my apartment, and there’s nothing I can do about it. People constantly have their doors open trying to get air, and some people have installed makeshift air conditioning units in their windows because apparently the complex thinks it’s appropriate to only provide heating when the highs are in the 80s. Damn shame.

I have been a resident for over a year and this last team working in the office has been amazing.
Olga and Mayra, specially. Both of them are very attentive and always help out.
It is true that the parking situation is very inconvenient– but even then Mayra (manager) went above and beyond to help out with an issue that I was having.

I love the changes that are going on in this complex! The ladies in the front office are always helpful and ready to answer questions. I have been here almost 2 years and just signed up for another year of course no one likes when rent increases but that is anywhere you go and it’s actually pretty reasonable for the area. I feel any negative review I have read are people venting the negatives this place is great don’t let that stop you from checking this great place out!

Well, I had written one review and it didn’t post… Long story short, I moved in about a month ago thinking the new management would change things. We’ve all been a little too optimistic, right?
The complaints about the AC in previous reviews are dead on. They turn off the AC for the entire complex in November. At this very moment, December 7^th 2015 at 4:45, my apartment is 82 degrees. Yes, it’s hotter inside my place than outside. There’s no such thing as a «luxury» apartment that doesn’t allow you to control your AC/​Heat. (They say it’s based off what residents want, but there’s no way that’s true with as many windows and doors I see open.)
FYI: They said it won’t be back on until MAY. No, that’s not a typo. MAY.
I was not told about the AC being turned off, otherwise there’s no way I would have signed. Find a newer place that’s not on a somewhat sketchy road.
Last bit: This is literally the first review I’ve ever made on this site (probably the last, to be honest). That should tell you something about how I feel about this complex.

These are by far the worst apartment complex I’ve ever lived at, the AC is always out when in Az is ridiculously hot, they take ages to fix things. There’s always some plumbing work they have to do therefore you can’t use your water for a whole day. If you have friends or family don’t move in here because they’ll never be able to visit you. There’s only 12 visitor parking spots which by the way are all taken by residents here but can’t get a pass from the office because it’s only a car per person. When you have a question regarding updates the management is making, the staff always responds with «To be honest I don’t know» their responses are always negative «I can’t, no, there’s nothing I can do» instead of giving you some options. If you work after office hours and you forgot to put money in the prepaid card to wash your clothes forget it there’s no way you can wash your clothes because the machine is inside the office. In the mornings there’s always noise by either the plumbers or people who are blowing the leafs at like 6am they’re not considerate at all, but we have to be «understanding» but when the residents are having an issue the staff cannot be understanding. Thye thought that by changing the names from Cabana on Thomas from Prescott on Thomas the bad reviews would go away, but it’s still as bad as if not worse! Everytime someone writes a bad review the manager replies back with an «I’m sorry if there’s anything I can do come down to the office» but still there’s nothing they will do for you. When you first come here they want you to move in so bad, everyone is so nice, but once they have you they don’t care at all about the residents, all they care about is your money.

Changing the name from cabanas to the Prescott does not change how bad this complex is. Unless mark Taylor is planning to gut the property and redo everything it’s still the same horrible complex with a new paint job. Fire, flood, broken Ac, no screens, bugs, threats of towing for having an old car. Worst place I’ve ever lived.
