The Fit Alterations 2

You may be wondering: Who is that stylish man walking downtown in a suit that looks like wrapping paper.
Or: That dude be trippin’ in that guns and dino suit.
The Fit Alterations 2 didn’t have anything to do with the creation of two of my newest suits, but they did tailor them to ensure I made a splash.
After purchasing a couple of suits online the past December, and anticipating they would run small at the website indicated, I was grief-​stricken when I was practically swimming in the slacks. Following the Unilocal reviews, I brought them here for a quick alteration. Since I was having them hemmed and tapered, the turn-​around was about a week (which is fine by me). If I was only having them shortened, I could have picked them up the following day. So, one week later I picked up my super-​fly slacks and I just knew this was the best clothing decision I’ve made since finding the proper fitting speedo.

The fit alterations 2 was amazing, my clothing was hemmed quickly and the price was reasonable! I had a great experience and would definitely go back!

I normally come here if I just need a simple alteration done, and I want to avoid the crowd or I’m too lazy to trek up north at the other location on 7^th Ave. this location is perfect for me because it is along the way when I do my grocery run to trader joes on the weekends; however, the only problem sometimes is parking lol.
Anyway, Nancy the seamstress is always very pleasant and patient! And she also has a candy bowl (mmm treats)!
So if you need simple touch ups, give this location a visit. The quality is just as good as the 7^th Ave location. However, for more complex alterations (read: beadwork, etc), I suggest going straight to the master tailor Dennis on 7^th Ave!

This is the best place to get alterations done. The lady that does the alterations is so kind and is an expert at what she does. She can trust her with whatever you need done and everything comes out perfect. 5 stars!

I got my bridesmaid dress taken in, and couldn’t be happier! Nancy is such a sweetheart, and it’s clear she knows what she’s doing. Love her!

I had a great experience with The Fit 2! I had found The Fit on Unilocal but they wouldn’t answer after I called about 10 times so I called The Fit 2. I had procrastinated on getting my bridesmaid dress altered for my sisters wedding and Leslie made me feel at ease when I called and asked if she could alter it in a week. She said no problem so I came in right away. Of course I was in a time crunch so when I came in I hopped in my dress and shoes. She pinned the extra fabric at the bottom and said she would just match it all the way around since I was in a hurry. She had me in and out in less than 10 minutes! I picked up my dress in a week and it only costed $ 30! Not bad since there were a few layers of different fabrics in the dress. Overall she was extremely considerate of my haste and delivered a great service! Thank you!

I wish my grandma had been around a little longer to teach me more sewing… I was just too young and interested in other things. Thank goodness for alteration shops that don’t mind my minor tears that need fixing, and in an expensive pair of pants that I just bought. It seems they do alterations on anything from wedding dresses, gowns, pants, and everything in between.
This location of Fit Alterations is on Camelback, on the south side of the road, just east of Central. Parking is a bit tough. The people I met were very nice. I popped in on a Saturday and my pants were ready on Monday. You can pay in advance or pay when you pick up.
I recommend this business for the location, quick service, and pleasant demeanor.

I bought black evening dress that was too long and found The Fit on google after I got out of my real estate class. I went to scope it out first and the seamstress was very friendly and told me to bring the dress in. The following day, I took the dress in and Leslie, who is the seamstress asked me to try the dress on and she pinned the hem. We scheduled a fitting for 2 days later because she had lots of prom dresses to alter. She called me the same day to have me come in the following day. When I went in for fitting the hem was perfect. The dress is 2 layers and the fabric is very fine… she did a beautiful job. Her expertise was worth every dollar I spent.
I bought another dress that was too big from the same company. I have taken it to Leslie for alteration. I know it will be perfect. She is also doing some additional alterations to the previous dress that I took in for hemming. I would recommend her for any altering that you need… no matter what kind of fabric, especially if you paid a lot of money for the outfit. You will not be able to tell that it did not come to you the exact same way you bought it. She has the skill and equipment for a professional job!

If you just need a hem or a seam repaired go to your mother’s house or a run-​of-​the-​mill drycleaners. But if you need clothing beautifully tailored so it looks like Chanel made it just for you then come to see Leslie at the Fit 2!
She’s not cheap — but that’s because the work is impeccable. I literally can’t see where the ‘factory’ seam began and where Leslie’s seam ends. And I sew — I can hem and repair simple seams — but Leslie is a sewing surgeon!
So to a point another reviewer made below: I had an Ann Taylor sheath dress taken in, 3 bathsuits altered (yes, Leslie can do that!) and 2 pairs of shorts altered. It was about $ 90.
What you’re paying for is Leslie’s experience, skill and knowledge with fabric, and her TIME.
Expect the same open-​heart bill if you see a cardiologist for a cold…

I was trying to sew my own curtains and my sewing machine was not heavy duty enough to get the job done. I took the fabric over to Leslie and she said no problem, she understood exactly what I wanted. said it would be done within 3 days at 2:00PM The next afternoon she called me up said they were ready. Every seam was perfectly straight and they hang beautifully.

Giving 2 stars because the employees in the store were nice enough and my dress was done when promised. However… this was my first time going to the Fit as I had been looking for a decent tailor in central Phoenix for a while. I saw the good Unilocal reviews and decided to give them a try. I took my dress in to be repaired as the original blind hem had fallen out after several wears. I dropped it off and was asked if I wanted the whole hem redone because the original was partially out so I agreed. Things looked good enough when I picked up the dress, but when I wore it out last Saturday night, the hem came out before I even made it home for the night. I had part of my skirt hanging lower than the rest. I tried taking it back to have it repaired but since I had it fixed it took me too long to wear it and return with it (all in all a total of only 11 days since I picked it up in the first place!) — they refuse to back their work past 7 days, no exceptions, per the employee’s phone call to the owner. I was told that if I wanted it fixed I would have to pay another $ 10 for this simple repair. I will not be returning to this business, which is too bad because they’re close to my house and I had several more complicated items to have alterations done on had this experience gone well. If you go here, make sure you wear your clothing within a day or two so you have time to return it if the stitching falls out before your 7 day limit is up.
