The Dailey Method® is a unique combination of ballet barre work, core conditioning, stretching, and orthopedic exercises. This challenging one-hour class effectively strengthens, tones, and lengthens the entire body. Light weights are utilized to define the upper body while mat and ballet barre work target the thighs, seat, and abdominals. After each muscle group is worked through high repetition using a small range of motion, it is alternately stretched to lengthen the muscles. Check our website for our current schedule.
History
Established in 2012.
Over 12 years ago The Dailey Method® was created and this is our story. Shortly after graduating from College in 1991 with a degree in Kinesiology, Jill Dailey McIntosh moved to San Francisco in her search for where to begin her career. Many different people helped direct her towards Pilates, which, at that time, was in the early stages of being publicly recognized. She completed the certified training for Pilates with The Pilates Guild and Physical Mind Institute, loved it, and practiced it both privately and semi-privately for the next 9 years. During this time she was able to train other teachers and also incorporate more traditional fitness training and rehabilitation work into her format.
The original studio opened during the summer of 2000 in San Francisco Marina’s District. This was the first barre class of it’s kind on the West Coast and we have been open longer than any current barre studio.

Tarra found The Dailey Method when it first came to Arizona through the instructor R&D program with Lululemon. She was drawn immediately to the balance of deep muscle work, alignment and flexibility that The Dailey Method offered. As a yoga instructor since 2006 and a student and teacher with The Dailey Method since 2009, Tarra is a trained observer and educator in body alignment, posture and fitness. She is passionate about all aspects of the mind, body and soul and joyfully shares her insights and wisdom on total mind and body health «The Dailey Method allows me the time and space to strengthen my body while being super attentive to my alignment. The practice gives me permission to accept that each day is unique and to honor that unique-ness by modifying when I need to, and giving myself more challenging options at other times.
