Manager

My name is Maurice and I have been in Arizona for the last six years but am originally from Ohio. I’ve been in the auto repair field for 5 years and with Sun Devil Auto for about 4 years. Sun Devil Auto is a great fit for me because I enjoy problem solving and taking the time to resolve vehicle issues my customers have.

I really like muscle cars and it’s a toss-​up between a 1987 Buick Grand National and the Ford Mustang for my favorite. I haven’t always been in the auto repair industry, I used to be a trained chef but left once I moved to Arizona to start a new career. In my free time, I like to spend time with my two kids playing baseball and volleyball.

Customers can trust that they will receive the best possible service at our Thomas Road location because we are very proud of our outstanding Customer Service and our technicians really know how to respond to our customers’ needs.

I have gone to auto shops multiple times and I HATE IT. They always try to rip me off and assume I don“t know anything about my car and talk to me like I’m dumb.
I was dreading just having to get my oil changed but as soon as I arrived and dropped my car off Maurice was very kind!
Once I went to pick my car up Maurice said my car has a couple of other things wrong with it but wasn’t totally pressuring me to get it fixed right then and there. He did let me know how important it was to get those things fixed but wasn’t being nearly as pushy as every other auto shop I’ve been to.
To say the least, I will be back here for all my vehicles needs!

This place is a complete and utter joke… made an appointment for a simple oil change. I walked in 15 minutes early and literally sat there for 45 mins. no one even acknowledged me. mind you I had an APPOINTMENT. you would think someone would be at a counter calling me telling me Im late right? Nope. not this place… I should of robbed the damn register on my way out cause there is no one even around. that dude at the desk works like a chicken with his head cut off. horrible horrible service. now Im NEXT DOOR at Brake Masters and they already have my car being worked on… save yourself the complete nonsense going on at Sun Devil Auto and just go somewhere else. or do it yourself. I would pay some dude in front of the Home Depot before I ever thought about going back there

Loveeeee Sun Devil Auto! I got stranded one day and had my car towed to this location (before I had always gone to 7th st and Bethany), to make a long story short, my alternator failed and I also got new rotors and brake pads, Maurice had me in and out same day. Very friendly and overall make me feel comfortable. Thank you again Maurice! I will definitely be back to this location any time I need work on my car done.

If you want your car fixed correctly and as promised the first time around then DO NOT bring it here. I brought my car in at the beginning of May to get my a/​c fixed. They gave me the quote and I gave my ok for them to fix it. They told me to get it fixed it would be a little over $ 300.00. After it was «fixed» I drive maybe three miles and it starts to blow hot air, not the «Ice cold» air I was promised. I called and they told me to bring it back for them to take a look out. I brought my car back to them and now they are telling me that they over looked something the first time around and now to actually get my a/​c running properly it’ll cost me an additional $ 600.00,after I already payed the three hundred to get it fixed as promised. Believe me I told them no. If they had diagnosed my cars a/​c problem correctly the first time around and gave me the correct quote of almost a thousand dollars then I would have taken my car somewhere else for another opinion. Now I’m out the three hundred some dollars because they believe they didn’t do anything wrong and I am now driving around in the 114° phoenix heat without a/​c. Trust me when I say that they have lost my trust in their ability to diagnose and repair vehicles along with the way they are running their business. I for one will never be bring my car to sun devil auto again.

Overall the experience was poor to be nice about it. I dropped off my truck to have a window motor and oil change done. Which was completed, as far as I know. When picking up my truck my other suv overheated. I left it with them and they told me I needed to replace the upper/​lower rad hose, water pump, thermostat, housing, and various other hoses to the tune of $ 600. Having to work the next day I dropped my credit card on it.
When I went to pick it up, I did not even leave the parking lot and it started making a loud grinding noise. (like fan on metal). I left it with them again and they called me back saying my brakes were shot and needed new rotors and calipers and brakes. That this was the source of the sound and asked for another $ 600.
Smelling bullshit I took it to another shop, they found out the fan shroud was not put back on correctly. and the belt driven fan would grind on it under acceleration.
Sun Devil told me they removed the shroud and heard the same noise. Obviously they did not do the work at all. On top of having shitty workmanship in the first place. Now I doubt they even flushed my coolant system. Oh and to top it off, I did need ONLY new brakes so a $ 80 job not $ 600.
Save yourself the headache and call someone else.
P.S — They will respond to your complaint with a generic I’m sorry about your trouble contact us here: XXX. I have done that in the past and they don’t answer or don’t follow up. So don’t be persuaded by the reply.

We have had our oil changed here for years. Last time We marked our tires and found they had failed to rotate them. We complained and they gave us a coupon for a free oil change. This time we found all the info for all of our cars had been deleted from their system. They honored the free oil change but had cleaned all the marks off our tires so we can’t tell if they rotated. Suspect much? I think so

Made an appt for an oil change and had to call a few times to change the time. I spoke with Seth who I’m not sure if he was the manager or owner but he was incredibly nice and helpful.
When I went into the store he was there and just as professional and kind in person. I was in an out for the oil change in less than an hour and the store itself was clean and well kept. Will definitely be going back!

So, this is a long story, but I’ll do my best. Brought the girlfriend’s Passat in to have the service light checked, a/​c checked, and it was making a strange noise. Wheel bearings, ac leak fixed, oil changed and tires rotated. Pickup car, service light still on, and makes a different funny noise. Call up, they have us bring it back, apologizing for the light, and thinking they just need to balance the tires. I thought that was automatically done after a rotation, but hey, I’m no mechanic! Offered a free oil change on her truck as compensation, and since she had brought it in anyway for its own a/​c issue, she was happy with that.
This ordeal lasted over a week, dealing with multiple employees and manager. The first guy that worked on the Passat apparently quit that day, the next guy had to leave because his wife had a baby, etc.
Eduardo told her that all her hoses needed replaced and several other things, before he gave her a diagnosis of the problem we brought it in for in the first place. At this point, we just want to pick it up. So we do, and now the airbag light is blinking. Manager (Seth) refused to speak to us and then we were hung up on.
Pretty ridiculous. Not sure if this is because we are women or what, but us being female shouldn’t have anything to do with the fact they don’t seem capable of fixing a problem without causing a new one. Francisco was the only person there worth talking to. He was great, but sadly there were too many other things wrong.

This place is aweful! I got my brakes done and just 4 months later they were toast. Called to have them fix and they refuse. They took my 400 and now won’t honor fixing their crappy job.
My advice– avoid this place at all costs.

Avoid this corrupt company… terrible!
I sent my wife in for an oil change and to get the brakes looked at because they were squeeking.
They did the oil change and told her that the rotors would have to be ground down or replaced and the rear brakes needed to be cleaned, the bill would be about $ 400.00
I said no, bought $ 18.00 brake pads from another company, and did the repair myself in about an hour
When I looked at the rotors, they were LIKE GLASS, in immaculate condition, absolutely did not require any grinding/​replacement… (the vehicle is only a few years old, with low mileage)
They completely tried to take advantage of my wife, fabricated a completely false story about the vehicle to try to make a quick buck… they should be shut down…
You’ve been warned!
