Let me be clear. They could have charged me more for a repair. Yep. I trusted them to do a repair. They found a less expensive was to fix my car than by buying parts from the manufacturer and they saved me a lot of money. How often can you say that about a mechanic? That was my first repair done there but I often get oil changes done. Wow.

They were very friendly and efficient and offered to drive me home /​pick me up while my car was being worked on. Also, when a related issue surfaced several days later, they fixed it for free. Nice guys who know their stuff.

Mario at Sun Devil Auto picked up the ball for me where others fumbled. I had scheduled an oil change through All Tune and Lube in Tempe, who messed up my appointment and left me hanging without any attempt to accomodate. I called around for someone to help me out and Mario was the only one out of 4 shops I had called that said he could fit me in without an appointment. So professional, so calm and very gracious and service oriented, they had me in and out of their shop before I was even done downtown. My car is running so smoothly, and the service tech even told me about a tire defect he noticed! I found my new go-​to mechanic. Dependability and great customer service is something I value, and thank the whole crew over at Sun Devil Auto for going over the top and demonstrating what it means to be a good shop.

I’ve been going to this location since I’ve worked in downtown Phoenix, about 8 years. Each manager (formerly Steve and now Mario) have been so good to me! I’ve rotated 3 vehicles through them (VW, GMC, and Jeep). They’ve been able to service all of them — mostly oil changes and regular maintenance. But when I’ve been in a pinch they have graciously pointed out the immediate needs and provided honest advice. They’ve given me simple/​complimentary services such as tire pressure checks/​air and discounted complex issues such as water pump leaks. I trust my friends, family, and co-​workers in their hands.

I’ve always been able to get my truck serviced the same day when I’ve called in last minute. Service is as promised and friendly. Pricing is fair with bonus coupons available on their website. Location is downtown and convenient for locals or commuters. They’ll even shuttle you to home or nearby businesses while you wait for your vehicle. Total recommendation!

A few weeks ago I had Sun Devil Auto inspect my vehicle because two other auto shops stated that I needed to repair both the intake manifold gaskets and water pump because they were leaking. I had not seen any thing on the floor of my garage but I was unsure and was going to have the repair done at the lesser of two. On my way to work I always pass Sun Devil Auto and I called to see if they do free inspections. They do. Steve, the manager, was very helpful and had my car inspected to find that the only thing that I needed was the coolant elbows which were leaking. He had the car reinspected after the elbows were replaced and found that no other repairs were needed. Now he could have gone along with what the two ripoff shops had stated but he did not. Steve runs an honest shop. I feel comfortable recommending it to others. Added bonus, they have a shuttle service.

My car failed emissions and I was told it would cost $ 500 to fix with multiple repairs necessary. When I told them that was way too much, they immediately said they could fix it for $ 300. Not a good sign. They also told me I needed new brakes. I found that very suspicious since the brakes had been fine when I had the car checked out not too long before. Two years later, my brakes continue to work fine. To top it off, I wad kept waiting forever because the mechanic forgot to tell me my car was ready. Bad experience from start to finish.
