Suitcase Recordings was established in 2005, with the hope of bringing professional experience and equipment into the real world, to capture music at its most honest.

We have added gear and experience in the years since, improving our sounds and our skills are central to our mission: Helping artists to capture their vision every time.

Meet the Business Owner

John M.

Business Owner

John McKay has been recording bands for over 20 years in various capacities, and has owned Suitcase Recordings since it opened in 2005.

John has also toured the US as a musician, worked promoting concerts, booking tours, reviewing records, teaching guitar and all the usual things musicians do to get by!

He is passionate about great sounds, and posts regularly on various forums under the name JohnSuitcase. He has also published several articles about recording, which have appeared on many studio websites.
