Suddenly Slimmer Day and Med Spa

Every year I am in Arizona for two months for spring training. I seem to always have very dry skin when I am there because of the air. I went here to get the Hydra Facial they were pushing online and was a pretty good deal. Seemed like a good idea. Wrong, I have acne prone skin; however, the facial literally said great for people who struggle with acne. After the facial I broke out everywhere. As a girlfriend to someone in the public eye this was humiliating and made me feel like I was 16 again in the worst time of my life. fighting breakouts. They did schedule me a consult to think of ways to fix it which was kind but what they came up with was me buying a $ 100 cream and if I wanted I could buy blue light treatments. I reluctantly bought the cream, and am still struggling 3 weeks later. It makes me sad to see the skin I worked so hard to make perfect ruined. Moral of the story do not be «pro-​active» with your skincare with this facial if u have ever had acne because your going to pay an arm and a leg to get what you worked so hard to diminish.

I don’t get the bad reviews. None of this was my experience either time I was here. I haven’t been in since 2008 only because I am from out of town. They were great then and they’re great now. I was greeted warmly and guided well. The staff was very friendly and professional. I did a fat burner wrap again because I was amazed by the results the first time. Not only did I lose several inches (can you say «loose clothes»!?) but my skin feels amazing. I also did the hydra facial and my face is GLOWING. I can’t wait to see the continuing results.

If there was a way to give no stars I would. I received an expensive high tech facial as a gift. Which I wasn’t able to have because of my allergies to gluten. No where in any of the literature did it say if you have a gluten allergy or an autoimmune disease please let the staff know. It wasn’t until I spoke with an esthetician that I was told this information. The worst part was the front desk. No formal greeting I was handed three sheets of questions one whole page relinquished them liable for any bad reactions. I had to ask where I can sit. I assumed the hot tea and water that was available was for everyone so I helped myself. I had to ask the front desk why no one had come to get me for my facial, 20 minutes past my appointment had gone by. It was only then that the receptionist went upstairs to ask how much longer it would be, I was told 10 minutes it was 15 making it 35 minutes from when my appointment was scheduled. Don’t waste your time or your money.

Don’t get me wrong the wax was done well… painful but flawless… reception asked me «how was it??» Which is inappropriate following a Brazilian. If you’ve ever had one you’d know that with that kind of question you just want to ask «how the hell do you think it was?» Then they over charged me $ 15 dollars. I canceled my appointment and they called me to ask why so I let them know and they gave me a credit to my acct. which was nice I might come back because the wax was so good. The front desk was awful hopefully they find new girls for that position.

Like others, I have a love hate relationship with this spa. Their customer service has gone downhill immeasurably. There is tons of red tape and caveats to every price and special they offer. Moreover, make sure you walk from the parking lot to the outdoor revolving marquee on the street before you enter and read through the specials!!! They don’t automatically honor those specials unless you do so and then tell them you saw it. Also note that these specials are different than their website, which are both different than the simultaneous specials that they send via text message. They have an attitude about clarifying these inconsistencies — I’ve never been to a spa that makes your experience so stressful. I’m kind of over it. The services are pretty hit or miss anyway. Timed services are also always cut short at your expense. I like the variety of their services. They are close to my house, so if I go back it will just be out of laziness. Actively looking for a new spa with better service.

The aesthetician’s were great, very friendly. However my experience with the front office and management was disastrous. Very unorganized and unprofessional. I would not recommend making an appointment.

This place has hype, but not worth the money. Other then the Lazer treatments. (That is the one thing I consistently have heard good things about). I went for Botox. I have had Botox at several spas, doctors offices & Botox parties. I had better Botox from a party then at this salon. The woman was nice, but I felt unsettled & she wanted to get it over with. So much so that the numbing cream didn’t have time to set. So I felt & HEARD EVERY thing. It wasn’t pleasant! It was my 1^st time hearing the injection & it made me dizzy. So much so that I didn’t feel comfortable driving. So I sat in the waiting room & drank water for about 20 minutes. Not one employee asked if I was ok. One customer was very kind & asked for ice, my forehead & around my eyes was extremely swollen. 3 days later I was not impressed with how my Botox had turned out. I should have called & complained because it wasn’t cheap! I waited until my follow up apt to explain that I wasn’t satisfied. When I told the Doctor Who did my Botox injections that I was not satisfied she had told me that during my previous apt I would most likely need more. That’s false! For the money I paid I expected to be more then satisfied. Even though I know she never said that. She proceeded to tell me I need more (which I knew) but it didn’t take the 1^st time. I followed the Botox directions. Like I said I’ve had it several times before. I feel so stupid for doing so, but I left her convince me to open my wallet again to fix it. Realistically out of courtesy I think they should have done the Botox complementary. I went on vacation and people didn’t even believe that I had had Botox… That is not a good sign for this company suddenly slimmer at all. my lines on my four head came back after a month, and the expressions that I could make shortly after my first and second appointment were baffling to me. I am so passionate about Botox being done correctly that I would like to go through my phone and find before and after photos to post. overall I feel I should have called and complained the first time as well as when I got talked into doing it the second time. The fact that people were saying it’s bad Botox directly to my face I should’ve picked up the phone and done something about it as opposed to being nonconfrontational. Note to self buyer beware. I wasted $ 500… Very disappointing

I’ve been going here for over 10 years and am always pleased with everything. From Botox to massages to facials they have it all in one place. For anything beauty related I always come here first.

I have visited this spa two too many times. Rewind to my husband helping me shop over Christmas, and he purchased a $ 500 gift card for my mom at Suddenly Slimmer. Afew weeks ago my mom decided to give the gift card back to me (yippee for me… what I thought as she gave it to me)
Fast forward to a few days ago… I called to ask if the spa had any specials on Botox. I was told that they were having a special. Without hesitation I booked an appointment to get my wrinkle free look back!
Cue in the Jaws themed music… I get to the spa at 5 minutes to five like I was asked. I was given paperwork to fill out that got me back in the room at 510pm. At 515pm, after discussing the amount of Botox that I wanted (AKA needed for my close ups) I was told I needed to pay prior to the administering of the Botox. FAIR. I gave the girl that walked in my gift card, and got excited. Then the girl that took my gift card found it a GREAT APPROACH to talk to the Dr on speaker phone and tell the Dr that I couldn’t use my gift card on specials that the spa runs. It would have been nice to have been told that when my husband purchased the gift card, I booked the appointment, in the two reminders text messages that I received reminding me of the cancellation policy, in the three emails I received reminding me of the cancellation policy or even in the five pages of paperwork I signed. But the reality is, NO ONE TOLD ME!
After 15 more minutes of waiting for one of the owners… Although I was told at one point they were gone for the day. A girl from the front came into the room and questioned if the card was mine and said they were needing to verify that I purchased the card. I am sorry … Are kidding me!!! You are questioning a GIFT CARD???
As I was being told that I don’t own the gift card, one of the daughters (aka owners) appeared. She explained that they were needing to determine if I purchased the card because earlier in the month, another gentleman had tried to use a stolen card. Ummm … You are kidding me right.
She then asked for the possible credit cards I may have used to purchase the gift card… (PS I FORGOT MY HUSBAND PURCHASED IT) but I am still trying to make sense of the experience I was having.
After ten more minutes «the owner» appeared and said she had solved it and now realizes my husband purchased the GIFT CARD! (my husband and I were texting while I was waiting in my holding cell … AKA the lobby. He reminded me that he bought the card) One hour after I had a scheduled appointment to be wrinkle free… I had wasted and hour of MY TIME with wrinkles still on my face! I insisted on my money back and now I am even wasting more time writing this, but hope some people will think twice before entering this spa.
NEEDLESS TO SAY … Kiss my toosh Suddenly Slimmer. Your customer service is definitely a disappearing act!

Not sure why my other review. I’m a regular at suddenly slimmer and have been for about 7 years. Hands dine to the service. Had waxing done today.

I had Botox done here. I was asked to get extra 4 unit to have my eyebrows lift a little. Most of my wrinkles were still there, but my eyebrows were super lifted. I looked super surprised or mad. When I returned for check up they offered to lower my brows for extra 4 more units! I am like what? It just to make extra money! I am 27 I usually get 40 unit Botox and it is enough. I got 50 unit done and I swear only 20% my wrinkles seemed disappear. It is either water down or bad quality Botox. And I had to cancel an appointment 23 hours in advance. I was told that they have right to charge 25 $ cancelation fee! Cuz I was suppose to cancel 24 hours advance! Super unprofessional!

Fancy place. Relaxing, welcoming atmosphere. Best massage I have ever had. Facial was wonderful, skin looks fresh and has a healthy glow.

I went for a brazillian wax and had a very pleasant experience. Dannielli was super friendly and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire experience. I’ll definitely go back!

Absolutely love this place! Reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Welcoming and friendly environment. The office is very clean. Dr Jeffers is great and always recommends the right amount of Botox and fillers :)

I’ve tried and I’ve tried to love this place, but I can’t. The staff is really nice but I have a major problem with how they measure time for their treatments. The first time, I bought an 80 minute massage for my husband and it only lasted 65 minutes — and he said that was being generous. The second time, I was given a 60 minute massage as an apology for the first experience, and my massage only lasted 40 minutes. Because of the first experience, I actually timed it and once again, it was not correct. I began undressing at 2:15 and by 2:55 I was dressed and out the door. I really don’t get it. At that point I didn’t even bother to say anything because it was a free massage and I don’t plan on returning. Ever.
I also have a major problem with the noise level in the hallways outside of the massage rooms. I mean, I was desperately trying to relax but it seemed next to impossible when I had to listen to every word of someone else’s conversation for about 20 minutes of my 40 minute massage. And there must have been a bathroom next to my room because I could hear someone in there using the sink and the walls were so thin that it felt like someone was washing their hands IN my room.
The facility is lovely, the staff is nice, and the menu of treatments is expansive, but I’ll stick to getting my massages over at Space.

This is my 2^nd visit. The first time was to have my eyelash extensions removed. That experience was good. Nice environment with spa décor, music and cushy seating. Even though the price of getting my extension removed wasn’t very expensive I was treated as if I was dropping 10k.
My 2^nd experience, which is today, was about the same except my RN Stephanie who gave me my Botox injections was amazing! Very personal and accommodating. I instantly liked her because of her friendly demeanor and charismatic personality. She had on leopard printed glasses which were great! So In contrast to her stark white attire you got a sense of her quirky personality. I recommend going to her for anything you need that she does. Front desk girls were polite but I wouldn’t say inviting. Stephanie provided that feel which was great :0)

The skin treatments I had were not effective. Plus, the staff person kept saying how great the outcome was and was going to prove this to me with follow up visits and photos which she promised over and over again. Guess what — the follow up never happened despite my reminders.
When I did see the doctor, she didn’t know how to work the equipment and clearly did not care about me at all.
Maybe the hair salon and other services are good but the laser services get a double thumbs down from me.

My experience with this facility only goes as far as their inability to schedule and cancel appointments.
First, I called to make an appointment to have a filler consultation and the girl that answers the phone ask your name as part of her greeting, why bother she didn’t remember it! I was also surprised they charge for a consultation with the doctor but the RN can see you for free. I scheduled my appointment for Wednesday and gave her my credit card information, as their standard practice is to charge a fee for short cancellation and no shows. After thinking about this practice, I decided to cancel since I had done some research and Dr. Jeffers did not have positive comments online and I really wanted to ask her about the procedure she would be performing and not the RN. When I called to cancel my appointment we discovered they scheduled me a week later than expected! Good thing I didn’t drive over an hour to find that out. Needless to say, I happily cancelled my appointment.
Next, I was sent another appointment reminder roughly 24 hours prior to my already cancelled appointment, really? I cancelled this appointment a week ago!!! I don’t know if they were hoping I would not call again so they could charge my card but I called them immediately to cancel yet again. Furthermore, I sent an email to validate my cancelation. I feel as though they would have tried to charge my card for their mistake.
My suggestions Suddenly Slimmer:
Write down the name of the person on the phone if your going to ask for it.
Don’t start our relationship asking for a credit card, it looks tacky.
Lastly, take your loses in stride.

I don’t really understand the negative reviews I’ve read. The service is decent and nice never run into any problems. I will say that my massage this time did not give me as much relief and I don’t feel like there is a good standard for their employees. They also suggested an anti aging facial, which is more expensive to me and I’m 25. I really just wanted a cleansing one but they convinced me I needed it. Looking back I don’t agree.

I sorta have a love-​hate relationship w/​this place now.
I’ve been here about 3 times in the last couple years, and it’s pretty much been the same.
Yes, I have gone for some med spa (anti-​aging) procedures which ARE pretty painful, but a lot can be gained by doing this. :)
The doctor seems pretty harsh (not very friendly) and clinical. This doesn’t jive well when there are needles being stuck in my head. At all. She seemed bothered and rolled her eyes when I asked for numbing shots.
Get this — her attitude did a complete 180 when she asked me my job title AND employer. Guess whose son works for my employer? Hers. She was then (I felt anyways) kissing my ass. I didn’t like this at all — those types of ppl disgust me. Especially in a customer service/​clinical setting. Not cool.
But, her work is pretty amazing — at least I’m satisfied w/​her results. It’s just dealing w/​her fake personality/​rough demeanor.
So, I’ll give them 2.5÷5 stars.

I’m not sure how this place gets such great ratings. Personally, I think they run an unethical business:
First of all, the building is old, not welcoming. The rooms are outdated and smell funny. Second, the bring you in to speak to a consultant who is trying to upsell you on all sorts of services.
I went in last week and dropped over $ 1000 bucks on botox and juvederm (my first visit). The doctor who consulted with me was brusque and rude — certainly not reassuring to someone who had never had botox and expressed discomfort with needles.
THis week I had to cancel an appointment for a body wrap. When I called (three hours prior to service), they informed me they were charging me ½ of the cost of the service as a cancellation fee (which would have been $ 150). I said absolutely not and that I did not sign anything to that effect. They informed me that is their cancellation policy and that I should have received an email or call informing so. I did not receive any text or emails. When I said, they could not charge anything to my credited card, they agreed to only charge a $ 25 cancellation fee. I agreed to that charge, but honestly, I would never go back to them.
