Shaggy’s Carpet Cleaning

In the interest of fairness, I will list the good things about my experience Shaggy’s Carpet Cleaning. They responded to my request quickly and managed to fit me in on short notice. The person who performed our service, Shaun, was very professional and courteous. We knew the carpets in our apartment were a lost cause, and honestly we were just after the receipt, so we truly appreciate all of Shaun’s efforts.
However, I am disappointed to say that I felt the price paid was exorbitant. My understanding when I initially booked this job was that I would pay $ 125 for a basic steam clean in a third floor apartment, with the option of adding on VLM cleaning for an additional fee. The day of the appointment, we found out that there was not enough hose to support the steam clean, and that VLM was the only option, which ended up costing a lot more ($ 210). I am happy with the job done, but it was significantly over my budget.
After the job, I received a call from David, the person with whom I initially booked the appointment. My husband had left a negative review that I was not aware of, and David called to confront me about this review, and request that it be changed/​removed. I find this practice extremely unprofessional and upsetting. David was immediately defensive throughout this conversation, and offered no solutions to perhaps change our minds. David came off as rude, and to be quite honest, I found this phone call to be completely inappropriate and bordering on harassment.
I won’t hire Shaggy’s again simply due to this inappropriate phone call.

Quoted price of $ 125 on the phone for a third-​floor cleaning. Upon arrival the cleaner changed that quote to over 200 dollars because he did not have a long enough hose for a third-​floor cleaning and so had to do a more expensive cleaning method.
Would have chosen a different cleaner if I had known that they could not perform the steam cleaning I needed.

We’ve used Shaggys twice. They are professional, courteous, and go above and beyond. Not to mention they have a lot of integeity; they’ve never tried to sell us what we don’t need and even recommended lower priced services when they were better for us. Highly recommended them!!!

Definitely, not impressed. Had them in my house last Friday ⁵⁄₂₉. Too expensive for the mediocre job they did. The guy was lazy, not helpful at all and didn’t really communicate with us the proper way. I wouldn’t recommend them to my friends.

Really great service. I had an emergency situation with a rug that my foster dog used as a toilet and they managed to squeeze me in the next morning. Really nice guys, fast and very honest. The rug was unsalvageable and they were honest about not thinking it could be saved and didn’t attempt to take my money knowing it couldn’t be cleaned. They even tossed the rug for me! Definitely use shaggy carpet cleaning.

Shaggy’s is an excellent business and I will refer them to anyone looking to have their carpets cleaned, water damage fixed up or air ducts filtered out. David came to our rescue with an emergency water issue and stuck through it with us until it was all cleaned up.
We had just bought our home and hadn’t even moved in. We called on an emergency and he was there within a couple hours. Considering how late it was and how long he stayed to set up his blowers and dehumidifier, he was worth every penny. And his prices were even reasonable. He checked in every day and made sure even after the issue was fixed that we weren’t having any more trouble.
It’s rare that you find people that actually care and work with integrity these days. David is one of those people and I will definitely call on him again if we need him. Thanks again!

Shaggy’s carpet cleaning came out to clean my 2 bedroom apartment to be move out ready. I have two dogs who left many pee stains. David arrived on time and set up his equipment very quickly. He cleaned the carpets very quickly and thoroughly. I chose to upgrade my cleaning to the pet stain removal option. They use a special enzyme to get the pee stains out. The carpets ended up being cleaner than when I moved in originally. Thanks to David at Shaggy’s carpet cleaning, I got my entire deposit returned to me from my landlord. I wish I hired him before I moved in so I could have had the clean carpets from the beginning.

David contacted me to meet and go over the review below, explained thoroughly and I now have a good understanding of what and how they clean carpets. I would Definately recomment Davind to clean your carpet ONLY if you want it done right, if you care about your home and family’s health, then call David and have him clean it the right way. As with life, there is a science behind the cleaning, ask David to explain it to you and then you will see this guy knows what he is doing and does a good job at it. As a Structural Engineer, I’m always looking for faults in everything, couldn’t find any in Daves work! GREAT WORK SHAGGY“S !! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!

When I moved out of Phoenix, Shaggy’s got us our deposit back. They were straightforward about how much it would cost, and took out pet stains that I was sure would require new carpeting, and the loss of our deposit. David was a nice guy, and made me feel okay about the fact that being an adult sometimes requires you to spend money on cleaning carpets. But still, better to spend a little bit on cleaning carpets versus spending a lot on new carpeting, even if it’s super soft shag carpeting and you can sleep on the floor and listen to Pink Floyd records.
Bottom line: Shaggy’s was great!

Love Shaggy’s and the Owner David! They care about doing a good job! Have used this company several times and never had any problems.
Would recommend them to anyone!

David cleaned my carpets today for a small area on the Groupon.
For the price paid. I am happy with the service. Although He did offer upgrades for additional services, He was not rude or pushy when I told him that I didn’t want them currently. In addition, My important request for an early morning appointment was met and accommodated.

We were extremely disappointed with this company. And, with Groupon for having gotten us involved with this outfit. Our carpets have been cleaned by others, and we know what they are capable of looking like when they are cleaned properly. Shaggy’s left our place with a huge dirty area that they never came back to take care of. Also, be very careful about the «up sell» nature of this company. They had a coupon which included a multi-​head cleaning machine and yet they tried to charge me extra to use that device. They wanted to add things right and left — it was almost impossible to get the cleaning we were promised by the Groupon. They had trouble with their equipment while there were here, and walked out with the carpets not completely clean. I would not recommend this company at all.

We’ve used Shaggy’s several times and always been really happy with the owner David’s work. In fact, the last time we called up Shaggy’s was when we needed some SERIOUS help with some drama left by some of our renters and what appeared to be a zoo of animals. Talk about a hot mess…
Anyway, David came in and worked really incredibly hard to get the stank out of the house, and the end result was nothing shy of a miracle. The carpets looked amazing. David was very easy to work with and a super nice guy. It’s obvious he really cares about his customers, because he went the extra mile to help me with this hot mess I had on my hands. :) Yay!
He really saved us a lot of money by cleaning up this situation. He was on time and very impressive.
We will always call on Shaggy’s when we need our carpets cleaned. David is GREAT! Five stars all the way.

Up-​sell, up-​sell, up-​sell… and carpet is definitely not much cleaner then before. How do we know this for sure? You can tell they were using a circular motion when cleaning and ‘skipped’ the corners… you can see where the machine left marks but the carpet color is still the same… and feels ‘crunchy’.
Note to owner: Probably a good idea to do a follow up call.
Would like to note that the owner has contacted me… We will see what happens.

Less than impressed, would not use them again. Also, not a very good value and they switch and bait pricing.
Bought the Groupon since we just needed a few small areas touched up.
They showed up with a trailer which seemed cheesy, in addition to the $ 37(½ off $ 75) deal they added an automatic $ 20 which I assumed incorrectly was in the fine print (found later that it was not) and $ 70 for stain resistance.
Their equipment broke and it took them over an hour to fix it,(an hour to figure out it was a clogged nozzle?) all while the front door was wide open on a 90 degree day, wanted to tell them to leave but at this point they had already sprayed stain remover etc. so just prayed we would get through it.
Cleaning turned out ok but wetter and «rougher» than any other professional cleaning have had done. They also tracked through the house about 50 times and had filthy hands, left puddles of water so cleaning was offset Guthrie messes.
Next time prefer to pay full price and get it professionally done for the same $ at the end of the day.

David came out to clean my carpets today and not only did a great job, but was friendly and cheerful, even though I only had a small job for him. I’m definitely going to share this with all of my friends. I can’t imagine referring another carpet cleaning company. David really knew his stuff, and got my carpets looking great, too.

Initial experience with Shaggy’s Carpet Cleaning was negative, but owner David Rose did his best to make the issue right.
He was on time and our carpets look clean now.

I have to second the good review here for Shaggy’s Carpet Cleaning. We had our terribly (pet) stained carpets restored and good as when we moved in by David from Shaggy’s Carpet Cleaning. He was on time, the price was reasonable and the work was excellent. Definitely highly recommended.

David from Shaggy’s showed up at the time he stated he would be to our home and quickly began his work. He was friendly, professional, and demonstrated experience in his work. His prices are great and service excellent. You should check Shaggy’s out if you are in need of quality carpet cleaning.
