SAS Fabric Superstore

This place is awesome can’t beat the prices. The only thing that turned me off was the cashier I think his name tag said Daniel he was pretty rude.

BEST place ever they have so many fabrics they really are a Super store. Being there makes me wish I could sew better. I will never go any where else for fabric.

Visited for the first time today. Great selection, but awful customer service. I’m actually a bit sorry I spent my money there because places that don’t understand how important the customer is shouldn’t be in business. I’ll be looking for another place to shop.

Went here yesterday. The place definitely had a ton of fabric, of course they didn’t have a simply black and white striped fabric I wanted so I’m not totally satisfied. Also wish someone would’ve offered their help but they all seemed too occupied with putting back things. A-​ok.

This place is the best! I’ve been coming here since I could sew which is essentially forever. Cheap fabrics, so many amazing notions, weird patches from the 70s, leather scraps and everything you didn’t know you wanted. Bring a slurpie and your patience because it’s going to be a long, hot occasion.

Large warehouse type shop, easy enough to navigate and I’m glad I found some really pretty drapery fabric on sale as there were a few remnants (café curtains for mom) so I know I got a great deal. Lighting could be helped and it’s a bit chilly inside so be prepared :)

Gone down in customer service. Would not let me look at the various cuts of fabric without folding them right there with me still looking at them and telling me I can not unfold them.

Also got frustrated they changed their policy on the fabric only on the ticket. They want all the crap you have in your basket on the ticket now. Well that’s not how it used to be and so I was getting yapped at for not letting the fabric lady know. Make up your mind on how you do things. :|

Ahhhh mazing! The prices are dirt cheap. You have to search for some time, and the place is huge. It’s like a Ross for fabrics. Seriously, who else in the city has this much gorgeous fabric in one place?
There are tons of clearance items. If you want to cosplay for Phoenix Comicon, you can find all fabrics for your creative needs. If you need fabric for your classroom, (felt for dry erase markers, curtains, bulletin board fabric) it’s here.
Right now there is a 50% off all upholstery fabrics SALE. Thousands of large bolts at $ 3.49 a yard and up. Come on! Yes, there are no returns, not the most helpful staff, and only swamp coolers; but you are paying for the incredible selection of threads, fabrics, elastics, buttons and lace at rock bottom prices. If you want to be catered to, go to Joann’s and pay higher prices. You gotta know what you want, big deal. I’ve been going to SAS since I was a little girl. Love it!

They had a good selection for fabric! good price. but the service is very bad! Hope they can have better service to customer!

Just had a successful trip to find some notions to make a bridal veil and fabric for new drapes. Selection is good, prices are fantastic. Check out is slow. I certainly will go back!

My 9 yr old daughter is wanting to start sewing pillows for shelter animals and someone recommended SAS to us to get cheap fabric by the pound. We went there today and, after over an hour of searching through the fabric per pound boxes and finding pieces that would fit the pillows, we went to weigh the fabric and check out. The store clerk rudely stated that they would not honor the per lb. price on more than half of our remnants (even though the pieces came from the price per pound boxes.) The lady said she would sell the remnants to us by the yard price because she thought the pieces were too good to be sold by the lb. My daughter left saying what a disappointment the store was and that the people were mean! Needless to say, we will not be back.

Visited this place for the first time today and love it! The only negative I would point out is that their selection of quilting fabric was really small — a little disappointing since that’s what I was shopping for. That said, I still left here more than happy!
They had Tons of fabrics in all kinds of materials and patterns. The other reviewers are right — it takes a little digging, but you will leave with what you need! They also have a giant selection of other crafty things like ribbon, lace, buttons, little things like flowers to attach to your project, tassels, etc…
The prices seemed decent, with a lot of clearance items and pretty good discounts on remnants if you don’t need a gigantic or perfectly shaped piece of fabric. They also had pretty cheap scrap fabric (good for quilting or any kind of patch-​y patterned project maybe?)
One random tip I feel is important maybe: I used my navigator when finding this place (I have an android phone so I guess it would be via Google maps) after just clicking on the address on Unilocal,and it kept telling me that the store was on the west side of the road when it’s actually on the east side. Seems silly but I kept searching the roadside for a fabric store tucked behind a gas station and couldn’t find it. Just a heads up!
I left with big aspirations for my next quilt, and I’m sure you’ll leave happy too!

Great prices and a huge selection that changes almost every time I go in.

The reviews are pretty spot on. SAS does not have AC it has old school swap coolers. It’s not AS hot as everyone says it is though.
I have gone into SAS lots of times and have never come out empty handed. Some of the quality does suck. There is lots of stuff to look at. Some of it is really vintage and horribly ugly but some stuff is great!
I have found Alexander Henry fabric here and Nightmare Before Christmas too!
Lace trims, normal trim, elastic, and zippers are all GREAT prices and they have a large selection.
I do recommend shopping here but only if you have the time to dig and walk around. Also You can’t be looking for a specific thing because good luck!
The staff has good days and bad days. Sometimes they help you but most of then don;t even sew so they have no idea what you are asking about!

I love this store. Everytime I have went in here I have found what I need and more. They have a little bit of everything and even things I have never seen before. Some of the stuff is a little bit cheap quality but they also have some very nice fabrics
Yes, you do have to dig through racks and bins to find some of the things you want but that is half of the fun. I am from LA so this place reminds me of the Fabric District. The prices are great!
Yes, The service is slow but I think the money you save is worth it.
Yes, It is super hot in the summer. I have been in here in mid day in the dead of summer and I thought I was going to die! Wear comfy breathable fabric if you plan on shopping here in the summer cause this building is HOT HOT HOT!
I have bought hair accessories here too! They were like 1.00, If I would have bought them at Claire’s or something they probably would have been 20.00 or above.
Last time I was in here I noticed that they have a clearance section in the back. I never knew it was there and will have to check it out next time im in there.
This place is not Joann’s or your high end fabric store so dont expect anything fancy and you wont be let down.

Ok so the store is not the cleanest place in the world, it actually looks like an old warehouse. The staff is ambivalent at best though the woman at the cutting counter was very nice. But the fabric selection is great and super cheap. I came for some fabric for a Halloween costume and ended up with this beautiful iridescent green fabric that i got for a dollar a yard. I wouldn’t suggest going if you are in a hurry but if you are looking for something unique this is definitely the place. They also have rolls of chain and bins of buttons at great prices.

I go to SAS Fabric about once every 3 months, all but 1 time I have found exactly what I am looking for. The 1^st time I went was to purchase material to make reusable lunch totes as a party gift for my daughters b-​day party. They had exactly the fabric that I was looking for and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of fabric that was there.
The other reviews are correct, this store is not a quick shop. You need to come in here with lots of time on your hands. Searching through material can be daunting, but if you keep an eye out you’ll find what you need.
I have noticed that everything is sectioned off pretty well. Girls pink material is in one spot, team logo material is together, etc. It is also sectioned by types of fabrics.
I have not seen any great quality fabric that I would really make any clothes for myself out of, it all seems to be fairly cheap. But, it is the perfect place to come if you are into quilting or making baby blankets.
I am going this weekend to look for Disney fabric to make my daughter a summer dress and matching bandanna for when we go to Disneyland in May. I’m sure I’ll find a selection of material that will suite that purpose.
All in all, this is a great store. But, you have to be able to look past the warehouse feel. I haven’t found the service to be necessarily rude, but I have noticed a bit of a communication barrier, as I believe that many of the workers haven’t grasped the American language.

SAS is CHEAP, BUT you have to RUMMAGE through the piles and piles of remnants and bolts of fabrics… and ONLY, if you have the time. The foreign women that work there are NOT friendly at all, plus they are SUPER SLOW. It’s even worse when there are one or two customers in front of you in line with PILES of fabric that need to be cut… better bring a book to read while you wait!
If you are in a hurry, you’ll be better off going to JoAnn’s with a 40% off coupon.
If you have time to search for something unique, then count on spending a few hours here (cups of buttons are cheap too)…I don’t remember if they accept credit cards.

You really have to dig to find stuff, and sometimes even then you can’t get what you’re looking for. They have SO MUCH. And they recently expanded their store — only ²⁄₃ of the building was used for selling fabric and the back third was for storing their shipments, etc. but now they knocked down part of that back area and are in the process of putting even more fabric in there. Much of it includes huge bolts of felt. And not just the ‘normal’ colors — they’ve got a pretty good selection there.
The trim selection is great. You’ll notice that you can spend a fortune on home décor when you shop at JoAnn and other such places. But here you save a great deal.
The only reason SAS loses a star from me is because the ladies here are not always friendly and you have to wait a long time sometimes to get your stuff cut.
At the Indian School location, that set of ladies are fun and friendly.
