Was a great place to try! Other than the weird comment regarding my choice in water I found the Barista wonderful. The decaf cappuccino was great, not bitter, frothy, and worth sipping.

I love this cozy little coffee shop at the Biltmore. It has both indoor and outdoor seating, perfect for getting work done! I always get their Iced Black Tea or Cold Brew and both are amazing! The ambiance is modern rustic and quaint. I wouldn’t suggest coming here with more than 4 people because it is pretty tiny! I look forward to my next productive afternoon at Royal.

While wandering the Union, my husband and I decided to grab some much needed caffeine. While there is no official menu, they make the normal variety of hot and cold coffee drinks — espresso, lattes, cold brew, etc. I ordered two iced vanilla lattes in the 16oz size. The barista, I wish I remembered her name, was extremely friendly, helpful, and kind. While she made the drinks, she chatted with me and was a lot more interactive than some baristas. The shop is rather small — barely enough room for two people behind the bar. This a huge positive in my book. Not only can you see everything — from the fridge to the espresso machine, but you can watch your drink being crafted right in front of you. Plus, with a smaller space, things can be kept simple and efficient. To top things off, my order was under $ 8. My husband was super impressed because normally I’m shelling out $ 10 or more for two drinks. When our drinks were ready, it was love at first sip. They were really good! They were sweet but not too sweet. The espresso flavor was there and it was smooth. My husband said it was the best latte he has had in a while. I’d have to agree; I really liked my latte and would definitely come back.

Great little spot to grab a quick cup of coffee, got a small latte and sat around a bit. It’s in the small lobby area which can make it a bit of an awkward space, but may be good for those looking for light traffic background noise and a place to sip coffee and read. Small latte was indeed small, smooth and I didn’t feel my coffee was hot enough. It didn’t blow me away, so I had my latte and went on with the rest of my day. Perhaps I came on an off day, because I typically enjoy Royal beans.

Loved the bottled cold brew. Very cool décor. I would have liked for the barista to be a bit more engaging. As someone visiting from FL, it would have been nice to be told about the shop, some of their specials etc. Overall very cool place a good coffee.

The Royal kiosk in Union is a splendidly civilized touch. Go up to the window in a relaxed resort frame of mind, as this spot is tiny, so there’s only so much they can do at once. But the setting is one of the prettiest parts of Biltmore, the staff is nice, the coffee is srs bsns coffee… so you owe it to the coffee to savor the moment.

It was a little tricky getting here, or maybe it was because I needed the extra caffeine and had a tough time finding the place. It’s kind of tucked in between, but it was worth the find. I’m not sure if it was the roasting or the barista, but I love the complex and rich flavor of the coffee especially when it’s not overwhelmed by the milk. It was the perfect pick me up.

In search for the perfect cup of espresso, I decided to give this place a try for my afternoon coffee. I didn’t realize that I could have ordered and drunk my Royal coffee on the inside of the mall(Union shops?) until I walked around to the other side and saw the other option. Instead, I had my coffee by the red door. As for the actual coffee, I ordered a medium in a ceramic cup, but apparently the cups were only in two sizes: small and large, which presented a dilemma. The barista stated that she usually makes a medium in the small cup and charges the small price. I was fine with that, as she also said that all the drinks are made with two shots. I do like my espresso to start out hot rather than lukewarm, so it was hard to gauge the taste but think it might have been a tad weak for my taste even with the smaller size and the double shot.

Coffee just okay. Actually, it was a vanilla latte that needed more heat. I like my coffee not too hot but this coffee was just too cool! Flavor was okay but nothing to die for. The beans are smooth but I maybe should have ordered an extra shot. The barista was only marginally interested in helping the customers as she had a laptop open and ready to go when no one needed coffee. I am sure there are times during the day when there is no one around and so this place may be rather boring to work in. The décor was clean and functional. Nice artistic touches on the wall. If I need coffee and I’m in the mall then this place would work for me.

This place is a coffee purists dream! I absolutely loved the décor and vibe here. As a first timer, I didn’t know what to order. After talking to the barista she assured me that she knew what to make. A few minutes later I had an amazing drink that was perfect for a hot afternoon Monday. It was the perfect pick me up! Can you tell? I am a total fan… Definitely will be back.

A fantastic little café in the bustling Biltmore complex. There’s also a pop up window version of Royal within the mall closer to the Allen Edmonds shop. The parking lot is always empty in the morning so it’s really easy to find a spot right in front. The baristas give a friendly smile and the coffee is a bit on the bolder side. The hot lattes are not quite as foamy or milky, but it is good when you need a kick to start your morning. I wish the chairs here were a bit more comfortable though. They are rather low and have an odd back shape. My go to drink here is an iced latte with crushed ice!

Wonderful little coffee window in the Union at Biltmore Fashion Plaza. The barista was friendly, and knowledgeable. I ordered a macchiato and he rightly checked to make sure I did not want a sugary monstrosity from Starbucks. The coffee was fresh ground well packed, and the dollop of foam was nice. Would perhaps have wanted a bit more of a «peak» on the froth but that is just being picky. The macchiato tasted smooth… clearly the coffee was high quality(they roast their own), well packed and the water was hot enough. I did not notice what type of machine they had, but definitely top notch.

I have to say that this is by far my favorite coffee spot in the Valley. Granted, I haven’t tried them all, but of all the ones I have tried, this place is soooooo good. I live in Scottsdale, and yes, I do drive past at least a half dozen ‘bux, a DD, and a few other small coffee shops just to go to the Biltmore to get Royal. The baristas and broistas are always friendly, even on a Sunday morning, which also adds to the reason I keep coming back. I can’t recommend this spot enough.

Similar to the other locations it’s a good place to get your fix to go. It’s hidden and there’s a 2nd location/kiosk near the sushi place as well.

Deeeelicious latte. I stopped by for a quick afternoon jolt while holiday shopping with the mister. It’s refreshing to get a latte and a bottled beverage for under $ 7. Two thumbs up! I will likely be hitting up Royal on future visits to the Biltmore. Fyi, they are located next to the Queen Creek Olive Mill café.

Huge fan of Royal! I have been to both the Royal bar at Union and storefront in the Biltmore. Love their lattes either hot or cold. I prefer the Union location just because of the seating outside is nicer than the other location at the Biltmore. Either location will give you great customer service and excellent coffee creations.

I think Royal is my favorite coffee place in Phoenix. I REALLY like the coffee at Lux but it is always so damned crowded and the attitude of a lot of the clientele is so stifling sometimes that I find it difficult to even spend the time to wait in line to get my coffee to go. Royal on the other hand is very quiet and serene(it shares the entrance to Red Door Spa so I guess it kind of has to be serene-who wants to me shoved out of the way by an overzealous scenester while waiting for a coffee before their massage?) Anyway, the décor is open and airy, modern minimalist-it reminds me of a coffee joint you’d hit up in Zurich(or maybe somewhere in Germany). And it’s QUIET… you kind of want to whisper or keep your voice down like you’re in the library. So I love to come here and relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere with a good cup of joe. Their Espresso is nice and smooth so I can always count on a full bodied Americano to get me where I need to be. They also have some yummy treats available too. Love you, Royal!!!
