Rock Star Boot Camp

Rock Star Boot Camp will exceed expectations for all fitness levels. Whether you haven’t worked out a day in your life and are looking to start, or you’ve been active and training most of your life, you’ll be challenged every day. Curtis is an excellent motivator and he’s willing to give you personal instruction on form at any point during the workout. If you are nursing an injury, he’ll have a modification for you so you don’t have to sit out of any exercise. I’ve had a lingering wrist issue for the past year and even if I don’t ask for it, he’ll suggest a way to take strain off my wrist and still get the same results. The other trainers are all more than capable and great motivators as well. If you’re looking to change your life, give this place a shot. A $ 20 Groupon almost three years ago has transformed me into a lean, mean, fighting machine (sorry for the cliché). This same Groupon is almost always available and a month will give you enough insight into what the program is all about. Don’t take my word for it… just read all the other positive reviews. Ignore the negative comments though. If you want a personal trainer who does the work for you, this isn’t your place. Curtis knows almost everyone by name even with hundreds of regular campers. However, he’s there to push you first and be your friend when you’re lying on the ground in a flop sweat at the end of a session. Put in the time, bust your tail, and make the most of the training and you’ll be much better for it.

I have been a member of this boot camp for almost 2 years now and I will probably be a lifetime member. This camp has changed my life. I have never felt stronger or more energetic in my life. Curtis is so motivating and he makes sure we never have a boring workout. Everyone here is so supportive and friendly. Its like having a second family.

This is a great program. I was horrified to try this and almost didn’t go. I’m so happy I did. This is the best workout I have ever done. There is something new everyday and the trainers make it so that you can do it at your level. Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t easy! However, you can do it! You feel like you accomplished something every time you go. I had a bad injury years ago and this is helping me to strengthen everything i need too. The trainers are so motivating. I highly recommend this camp to anyone looking for a great fitness program.

I signed up for a three week challenge, and have enjoyed it so much I’m adding more time! I’m unfortunately moving in a few months so can’t commit any longer than that. The best part of RSBC is that all the «campers» are on completely different levels. So it doesn’t matter if you’ve just completed a marathon or haven’t worked out in 10 years, the program is adjustable for all levels. They make you feel really welcome as well. The workouts are pretty short, I think about 45 minutes, and actually go really quick. Every day is totally different so you don’t get bored. Plus, the music is usually pretty good!
I highly recommend trying it out if you’re curious!

Love this place. Workouts are different every time you come. Curtis is so motivating and also hilarious. A great workout for people at all levels — modifications galore. Even though it is busy and there are lots of other campers they still watch for proper form and help you improve.

This review is long over due, but needed none the less. I purchased a groupon or living social deal a long time ago and decided to go here.
I was incredibly scared and nervous but everyone there was extremely supportive of me. They kept saying hang in there, you can do it, call 911, I think she stopped breathing. Just kidding! But they were supportive and and kept telling me I could do it.
I was incredibly sore and hurt in places I didn’t know my body had. But oddly enough I liked it, and I’m thinking about returning even though it’s been a long time.
And I’m pretty sure the instructors read minds. I would tell myself, hang in there, then you can go home and eat such and such, and they’d shout out, «DO NOT GO HOME AND EAT SUCH AND SUCH!» I had to question if they could read minds or if I was just chanting donut donut donut as I worked out without realizing it.
It’s not an easy work out, that’s for sure but you will see results. And I can’t wait to sign up again.

I had seen so many posts from my fb friends about this boot camp that I’m glad I’m finally here to experience it personally. This place is cool. It’s very structured and starts right on time. I’ve been there various times and all the instructors are good. There seems to be a loyal and active community.
Curtis is very knowledgable and will keep you on your toes.
What separates this boot camp from the other ones that I’ve attended seems to be this one is like a crossfit boot camp. Lots of sequences to get your heart rate elevated quickly with rests in between.
Great for burning calories.
The only reason I’m not giving Rock Star Boot Camp a 5 star is simply because with this type of group boot camp, there are so many people attending class at the same time, even with the best intentions of the instructors, it’s impossible to make sure everyone is doing the task with the right form.
Regardless, if you attend and watch what you eat, you can still good results from coming here!

Purchased a groupon and was very excited to start this seeing all the 5 star reviews, after purchasing you have to sign up online and wait for response (about 4 days I think) saying to choose your start time (on a day they choose) about 1and ½ months out. So finally get to THE DAY and can’t find the place cause there’s ABSOLUTELY NO SIGNAGE ! Yes, in the email they warn you but I still find it weird for a business to have no sign, not even a cardboard sign directing u where to go. I drove around back like the email said and see no people, no instruction, all doors closed. So it’s not like in gonna go opening random doors. All that’s around is a dirt parking lot, construction stuff going on, piles of rocks, cars… Doesn’t seem like a boot camp set up. Tried calling and the voice mailbox is FULL ! Frustrated and irritated I drive around again and then there’s a class starting, by that time I did not want to interrupt so left. I emailed them (since I couldn’t get through via phone) and a whole week goes by and they email me back late Sunday night letting me know I could start the next day. Thanks for the «advance» notice ! So, very irritated and disappointed I called Groupon and got my money back.
Tip to business — BUY A SIGN !!

This camp and its culture has completely changed my attitude towards fitness. Each day is different to develop core strength and define muscles. Campers are very supportive of each other and there is a great social aspect outside of camp. I love starting my day with RSBC!

This bootcamp is awesome. It has every aspect a successful, friendly, caring local business should have. The founder, Curtis, is there everyday at 3:30am getting ready for the day of camp. He creates, and performs every work out before he instructs the rest of us and it shows. He knows the exact way you should be moving, and can pick you out from a crowd if the movement is even slightly off to help us correct it.
He makes a point to learn everyone’s names, which is truly mind blowing. He may not realize it, but hearing your name called out is really motivating, it shows he doesn’t see us as a mob, he sees us as individuals who have a place in his heart and he wants us to be the best we can each be. The other trainers he works with are also amazing in their own ways.
The teamwork and «group spirit» here is unmatched. We are all connected and are there for each other at all times. Everyone feels welcome, there is no one who would feel left out or left behind, which is a typical feeling at a lot of other bootcamp/​group type classes.
Curtis has left a huge impression in my family’s lives, and its a common topic in the household. He has brought my dad and I even closer as we attend almost every class together everyday.
Also, not only is this an amazing bootcamp workout, this company gives back to the community in more ways than I can describe. Not only are we all getting sexy at camp, but we are making a difference in Phoenix :)

I have been a camper for the last 2 and half years and have to say that this is one of the best ways to get exercise. No where else can you go somewhere for 40 minutes and get the workout that is provided here. Who does 100 pushups before 7 am not to mention 400 burpees?
Both Curtis and Rachelle are amazing motivators and have multiple ways of doing exercises for all levels of fitness. The variety is fantastic. I don’t think I’ve done the same workout twice yet! Also you can come as many times as you want over the 6 days they have sessions. So if you miss one in the morning you can come in the afternoon. I’ve never heard of another place that gives you those options.
I took a break for about 4 months and tried to do some stuff on my own but it is never as motivating as going to camp. So if you are looking for the most efficient and fun way to exercise in less than an hour this is the place to do it. Come check it out and get hooked.

I have been attending Rock Star since November 2013. I give 120% and always get 150% back from the campers to the staff. The support system does not stop or start at camp it continues into our every day life. This is a family I would never had expected to have. I am stronger and leaner than I have ever been in my life. And at 40 years old I couldn’t be happier. I would recommend RSBC to anyone and sand behind it! I have a 17 year old daughter who trains daily here as well. Great for TEENS!

Like many people said below, this RSBC is the most positive things I have done for myself. I am going to be celebrating a 1-​yr anniversary in July, and over this past year, I have accomplished so much that I would not have ever thought possible, if it weren’t for the best trainers and nutrition coaches in the entire city. Looking to lose weight, gain muscle/​endurance, train for an obstacle race, make new friends? This is the place to be.
If you are debating whether to «give it a shot» someday, what are you waiting for? Get on it, we RSBC veterans would love to see you achieve your dreams also!

Joining RSBC is one of the best things I have ever done for myself. I’ve been attending off and on for just over two years now I believe. I originally found it through a Groupon type deal that some friends and I purchased. I’ve lost about 60 pounds and much more importantly, I’ve lost inches, gained so much strength and turned my nutrition and food habits around to a healthier lifestyle all because of RSBC.
That being said, this is NOT for everyone. I remember very well on my first session how nervous I was about it. Yes, the trainers are tough and demanding, but they are also supportive and provide specific instruction and guidance so that your workout is safe and effective. Just listen to what they have to tell you. Have a question? Ask. If you’re nervous about it, just remember that the hardest part is getting your a$$ off the couch and going to camp. This is, however, a «bootcamp» style workout. No frills, it’s not pretentious, yes you may be outside, there’s concrete and dirt and you’re gonna sweat and work your tail off. It’s Arizona, so it’s hot. Drink LOTS of water. Think you’re drinking enough? Drink some more. Bring the items the instructors tell you to when you start. Read the email instructions you receive and you’ll be in good shape! If you prefer treadmills and air conditioning and being surrounded by T.V.s, please keep spending hours at the local big box gym in your comfort zone — this may not be for you.
Although based in a warehouse, RSBC still has so much to offer to campers. They do a variety of class times, the workouts are well planned and highly effective. They care passionately about form and preserving the health of your body. They will provide modifications for EVERY level of fitness, and also assist you in modifying for existing injuries. Sometimes the classes can be rather busy, just be courteous to each other. We are all there for similar reasons, and all suffering through the same killer workout. :)
One of the biggest influences for me has been the RSBC Fit & Healthy group on Facebook. During the times when I was not able to actually attend the workouts, I still followed the group on Facebook and took in so much useful information about nutrition and how to change my poor habits. Nutrition is SO important, you truly can’t out-​workout poor food choices. The RSBC is extremely supportive of one another, also.
If you’re thinking about joining and you’re ready to commit to a healthier way of living, do it. Nothing will be handed to you, you’ll have to put in the hard work, but all the resources will be made available and you’ll be supported on your journey. If you’re not ready for some hard work and positive life changes, this isn’t for you.

Rock Star Boot Camp has kept me focused on exercising. As a busy business owner, I work from early AM to late PM 7 days a week. I find the group accountability very motivating, and show up over 98% of the time (which is a better record than I had at the gym).
The types of workouts are always changing, thus keep me challenged. RSBC trains you to be agile, fast, strong and flexible. It is, hands down, the best training experience I have ever had.

I wrote a review for Rock Star Boot Camp already :) (see the other one) But I am still enjoying it each and every day. My year anniversary is coming up and I am fitter, stronger, and healthier than I have ever been. The trainers Curtis, Rachelle, and the newest trainer Michelle all kick our butts each and every day! Definitely come and join us sometime to see what I am talking about. I promise you won’t regret it!

I really loved going to Rock Star Boot Camp. It’s a great way to exercise in a short period of time. I’ve gotten TONS of compliments in the 7 months that I’ve been going. My cholesterol went from 292 in July 2012 to 207 in March 2013. I lost about 12lbs or so, but people cannot stop talking about my arms and how tone they look.

I became a Rock Star camper & could not imagine my life without it. Now I’m completely addicted. Not only does it make you feel better physically, but my mentality is so much more positive than it was 7 weeks ago.
Curtis and Rachelle bring the workouts that will transform you! I can’t say anything negative about them or their workouts!
Not only are the points I’ve mentioned a huge motivator, but the whole entire Rock Star community is above amazing! The support at camp is unbelievable and the Facebook interaction is just as awesome. They compliment each other beautifully. If you want to change your life, physically AND mentally… give Rock Star a shot. You will not be disappointed!

I’m one month away from marking my 1yr anniversary at RSBC! I get my sweet behind up every day (even if that means 4.30am) and do my workout. And couldn’t be more happy about it. Rock Star is so much more than just a workout. It is a great community of people that are looking forward to your success. There is always someone to lift you up, give advice or just listen to your rants.
But for people interested only in working out, I give all props to Curtis. He is dedicated to give you the beat down in 40 min. There is method behind the madness, every move and every exercise is there for a reason. It is a little bit pricey maybe, but I truly believe it is totally worth it. Everyone should try, it is the greatest addiction imaginable!

Rockstar bootcamp is awesome. I recently purchased a groupon for here and am in my 3^rd week of training. Seriously Curtis knows how to isolate each muscle group on your body and push you to the brink. He does a really good job of working on specific muscle groups throughout the week, not over working one. You get enough time to recover for that muscle group. Each week has sort of a theme, so you know you will walk away feeling good and amped.
Curtis obviously puts a lot of thought into each workout he assembles for us. It is not some whimsical do some curls go jog and you’re done type deal. It is intense (if you do it correctly) heart pumping, cardio working, weight training workouts. I would recommend coming to Rock Star bootcamp (more than just 1 week), because each week is totally unique in ALL it’s workouts throughout the day and doesn’t give you time to get comfortable with a routine and find the ways to slack.
If you go and push yourselves you will see results. In my 3^rd week now and down 4% body fat. LOVE IT!
