Repose Salon And Spa

Another rave for Davina. Had a 90 minute deep tissue massage. Easily the best massage of my life. My wife got hot stone/​deep tissue with Carolyn, which she said was very good. I think she preferred the hot stone massage at La Refuge in Sedona, but I easily preferred my experience at Repose. Davina has plenty of strength to really work the tight muscles, but also a lot of finesse and sensitivity, got spots that every other massage has missed. Very talented masseuse.

I had a bad experience with getting my hair colored. What makes the whole situation worse is that management couldn’t even take the time to entertain a complaint. I’ve requested to speak to the manager twice (!) and no one has bothered to even speak to me.
I wish I was one of the people who had a great experience. Apparently, if you have a bad one, they don’t care.

This was exactly the place I needed after a weekend of conference and recovering from a cold!
I called in on Friday asking if they had any availability for Saturday afternoon. They mentioned they were having IT problems and would call me back when they could book my appt. They did so and were able to accommodate my request for the last spot of the day.
I was greeted by Davina who gave me a great massage with a combination of relaxation and working out the knots. She was all about finding what needed to be worked on and not so «fluffy» which was what I needed. And when my sinuses started draining from being face down she graciously offered me a Kleenex and seemed genuinely pleased my body was already starting to detox! Water was waiting for me in the reception area to finish the treatment.
I wish she wasn’t all the way in Phoenix but I will visit her next time I am in town :)

I’ve been scouring AZ for a new hair place after moving to Tempe from CA, and I’m so bummed I didn’t find this place sooner!
I got my hair done on March 12^th by Cole & I am still in love with it. Cole is a rockstar – I showed her pictures of what I wanted and it turned out even better than I could have imagined. Cole is awesome! She’s extremely friendly & attentive to what you want. And she’s a hair painting genius!
Needless to say, I loved my experience & will definitely be coming back.

5 stars to Davina who welcomed me with a sweet demeanor and theeeee best massage. I was having chronic temple headaches and both my chiro and dr recommended having a massage done to work out the strains and tense upper back neck shoulders. I’m no massage snob which is why Davina made this even better. She was attentive and didn’t patronize me. I enjoyed my one hour of relaxation and serenity even during the working out of knots which left me a bit sore but I expected this. I will be including this in my monthly regimen — I’m sure there are places that are less expensive but I live downtown and it’s convenient plus I feel comfy with her. Which says a lot when you’re almost naked and feeling exposed :-) She finished with some reflexology in my feet and a calming head massage. Pure heaven!

I came here for the first time today and had made an appointment with Cole. She made the whole experience fun and entertaining with her bubbly personality! Not to forget my hair looked AWESOME! Go see Cole for any hair services and you won’t regret it!

I have been going here since before it became REPOSE. And John has been cutting/​coloring my hair since then. HE IS GREAT! I am the person who has no idea what I want and he is able to come up with something for me everytime. He is also great about knowing what I will be happy with. For example, he does not give me styles which will require a ton of upkeep because he knows that I’m not good at that. He always gives me cuts and colors which will grow out nicely. And now for DeAnna who has been doing my eyebrows. She’s wonderful, too! She really knows what she is doing and if anybody has had the experience of wax that’s too hot, too cold, all over the place, etc… You know how important it is to have somebody who knows what he/​she is doing. I’d totally recommend both John and DeAnna!

I saw Cole yesterday for a cut and color. I arrived and was immediately greeted by the receptionist. Cole was amazingly sweet and listened to what my vision was. I had been seeing the same hairdresser for years, and my coif needed some fresh love.
Cole was professional, sweet, and efficient. I was offered water, checked on when my color was processing. The customer service was outstanding.
I absolutely love, love my hair.
The salon was clean, has a relaxing vibe and a great view. All the staff were super friendly and welcoming.
I cannot wait for my next appointment!!!

Short and sweet. I am the most particular client, living between LA and Phoenix with a super high bar for a good cut and someone that knows highlights (no, not the outdated, chunky, skunk strips) really knows highlights so… I am a baatch to please. Well… I am SO happy to say that while Repose is a bit tricky to get to (give yourself an extra 15 just to park) it is well worth the effort. I have had more compliments on my cut (let go of 5 inches) that I have in years and I am booked for my highlights this week.
My stylist Johanna is witty, funny, super easy to talk to and she knows how to wield a pair of scissors — I am a big fan already and hope to have her as my stylist for a very long time.
So be OK with the fact that you have trek to get to this salon, it’s really worth it — promise.

Jonathan Lively is a hair wizard! I have never been happier with a haircut in my life. He is patient, meticulous, and above all listens to exactly what you want. If you are in the market for a new stylist, do your self a favor and book an appointment with him!

I was referred to salon repose. Don’t be turned off buy the location. It may be tricky to find the salon at park but once you do it once you’ll be straight. I got lucky and was set up with stylist Tristan. I am now a regular of Tristan’s as she listened to my concerns and what I was going for. She banged it out and has been for months now. Tristan can handle men’s hair. So if your a gentleman looking for a kind, patient and extremely talented hair stylist please give this young stylist a try. You will not be disappointed. She rocks my men’s cut, color and deep conditioning. Also I became a member here at repose and the perks have turned out to work in my favor. Awesome discounts!!!

Solid salon experience. We stayed at the Hotel Palomar so decided to get a mani pedi and massage while we were here.
I can’t speak for my colleague who got the massage but she seemed very well rested and relaxed after she was done. I had the classic mani pedi and was easily accommodated when I told them I had something right after to get to. My manicurist fit both treatments in in an hour rather than the hour and a half and did a great job!
My nails looks fantastic and super glossy. The treatment itself seemed to be on par with other treatments I’ve received for the price so there wasn’t anything too special, but it was a solid experience. The pedi chair was a bit awkward to get into and kind of uncomfortable but I wasn’t in it for too long. I chip my nails super quickly as I’m pretty rough on them, but I’ve been through two airports with them and a day later they still look great so brownie points for that!

I had a day there! Got a blonde ombré and cut by Johanna:) she’s amazing! I’m brunette so blonde isn’t an easy task! I look fresh and sunny. I couldn’t be more happier, I really needed a pick me up! She is also great conversation.

Over and over again I’ve heard from how much work my hair takes. I understand, it is long and thick with deep stubborn waves. I know that my hair comes with a high price tag & being uncomfortable for long hours in a stylist’s hair. But always ended up with something similar to what I wanted.
But not anymore, Adrian and Sheri are hair ninjas. They worked with my natural hair texture to get and gave me exactly what I wanted. Without my pockets and butt hurting afterwards.
Adrian was SO meticulous while cutting my hair. And Sheri was so patient and gentle while giving me a blowout. Their advice was so helpful and have made styling my hair so much easier. Best experience I’ve had getting my hair done!

Excellent place! I HIGHLY recommend Sherri. She is fabulous and has a gift for cutting hair! She made me feel comfortable which almost never happens when I get my hair cut and we talked the whole time. It is reasonably priced and not stuffy like some city salons. Great place to relax and pamper yourself! Again, Sherri is fabulous!

While staying at the (awesome) Hotel Palomar in Phoenix’s chic «urban» CItyScape, I was lucky enough to happen upon Repose during a business trip where I had several free hours to burn. I walked into Repose not looking for anything in particular — I would have accepted a manicure, hair cut, massage, or facial — so I threw caution to the wind when I asked the receptionist what was available that afternoon.
While all of their slots for hair, face, and nail treatments were booked that day, there was one available massage slot open, so I jumped on it. A 60-​minute custom massage for only $ 85? Yes, please! I was lucky enough to be placed in the care of the lovely Davina, who listened intently to my likes and dislikes about massage, and took great care to make sure she honored my requests for more or less pressure, and to focus more on arms, legs, and feet than lower back. I felt like I definitely had a customized experience with Davina, and that she didn’t simply go on auto-​pilot masseuse mode giving me the same massage as any other client.
Even though I was brand-​new to the salon and a total walk-​in, everyone from the receptionist to Davina treated me as though I were a long-​time client. They didn’t seem to care that I wouldn’t be a «regular» since I live out of state, but they gave me the highest level of customer service.
The spa area of the salon is completely separated from the hair/​nails area by a separate door, and it’s quite quiet and relaxing in a natural way. While you won’t be wooed by fountains, soaking tubs, or candles everywhere, the spa area has just what one needs in term of privacy, a nice changing area, a large private restroom, and massage therapists who respect your space and time.
When my massage (sadly) came to an end, Davina didn’t make me feel rushed whatsoever to leave the room, allowing me instead to revel in the post-​massage glow after she had exited the room. When I returned to reality, I was given plenty of space and time to change back into my clothes.
If you’re in the area, or staying at the Palomar, I would definitely recommend Davina at Repose for a full-​body massage!

It’s easy to rate this chic downtown salon 5 stars. It’s very clean and the welcoming staff are very warm and accommodating.
Guys: if you need an extra sharp haircut for a special occasion or if you’re someone who always likes to stay sharp, go see Adrian! I’ve seen him do a wide variety of styles and the product is worth every penny.
And the best part, besides the cut of course, was the beer he threw in while I was waiting!
I’ll continue to go to Adrian until his hands fall off or my hair fall out, whichever comes first!

Johanna is killer! Not only did she do a great job on my nails, I came back weeks later to get a blow out. She knocked it out of the park! I received multiple compliments on my nails and hair. Best of all she is a fun person to chat it up with!

This review is split in two parts.
Part 1: The part where an unsuspecting Unilocaler wins an 80 minute facial and a bunch of awesome products
Yes, I was the lucky winner! It was very exciting. I scheduled my appointment with Deanna for my free facial. She made it easy, allowing me to text her to figure out a good time and date. Fast forward to when I arrived… NOTE TO VISITORS– this place is not in the Palomar even though they are owned by them… it is next to Urban Outfitters on the second floor… Ok, anyway, the girl who was working the front desk was very friendly and helpful. I was shown back to the spa area for the facial. It was amazing! So relaxing. The product all smelled good and felt nice. Deanna was great, friendly, and explained each product and what it was doing, very professional. Before I left, Deanna showed me around their very cute and modern salon. I headed out… but, hold the phone! Outside the door was a sign with lunch time specials for the salon… kind of like a beauty happy hour. it’s Tues– Fri and there are discounts on men and women’s haircuts and waxing… well, that got my attention. I was in need of some waxing services… I ran back in to make an appointment.
Part 2: The part in which the Unilocaler seems a little crazy and comes to the salon two days in a row…
I made an appointment with Deanna for the very next day for *don’t read on family!* a brazilian and an eye brow wax. She was extremely professional and clean. She made me feel comfortable and did a great job. She really fixed my eyebrow that had been totally destroyed the last time I got waxed, so I appreciated that. Further, the special pricing was great (55 $ for both).
So why only 4 stars? I would like to try some of their other services and also their prices can be a bit high when they aren’t running specials. The parking is a little bit of a pain at Cityscape, but they do validate for the whole day, so that is nice. I will definitely be back!
PS The ladies at this salon said they may be coming out with a new menu of services soon due to the change in ownership, so I’m interested to see what those changes look like.
