Considering the voluminous account of information that needed to be covered in the few short days of this course, I have to say that Mike did a great job! Even though I felt like I was trying to drink from a firehouse of Mike’s knowledge and over 20 years of experience, Mike took the time to explain various concepts that were important, to the whole group. 15 was a great size to feel involved but not overwhelmed with the size of the class. Thanks for a great job Mike!

I took the class from PMA on May 11 and passed my PMP exam on June 26. Not only did I pass, but I passed with flying colors. The PMP exam gives you 3 ratings when you pass: Below Proficient, Moderately Proficient and Proficient (ranked from low to high). I got proficient on 2 domains and moderately proficient on the other 3. I wasn’t even close to failing!
This is partly due to PMA’s in-​person course and online materials. I had Mike Bergman as my instructor. Mike was great at helping us focus on what was truly important for the exam. For example, one of the formulas is way too long to memorize and rarely shows up on the exam. Mike’s advice was to skip it and focus on the 199 other questions. The reason being that it wasn’t worth the effort to memorize that one super long formula when you could be spending your time on the other formulas and concepts. This advice, along with all of Mike’s other advice served me well. After the 4 day class, I got a 74% on my practice exam. That was from coming in cold on the material and 7 years of PM experience. Mike recommends getting an 85% on a practice exam before taking the test. I was almost there after just taking the in person course!
Along with the great in-​person course, PMA also features a ton of awesome material on their online course. They have a full online course available for brushing up on the material. They also have targeted quizzes, practice exams, flash cards, and tutoring available. The tutoring was great! The instructor would answer any and all questions that people would have and would usually use up the full hour. He went over the time limit every time to make sure all questions were answered and answered follow-​up e-​mails.
TLDR: Take the course! You won’t regret it.

This class was fantastic for all aspects of wanting to take the PMP Certification Exam. Mike Bergman is the instructor and has over 20+ years of PMP experience and teaching PMP. The class is a fast paced boot camp and covers a lot of information. However, Mike really does a great job of tailoring it the way it needs to be tailored for absorbing the information and preparing for the practice exam on the last day of class…
This class is a win-​win! Location is fair for everyone in the valley and the materials you get in class are all you need…

I took the PMP Exam Prep Course this week from Project Management Academy. I went into it expecting to get a painful week of drudgery which would help me pass the test but not necessarily teach me anything I would use in my job. What I got instead was a class by instructor Michael Bergman which was perfectly paced and really helped me gain an understanding of the subject matter. The course material is a great supplement to the PMBOK manual from
. I have not yet taken the PMP test, but my practice tests are showing that this course did its job in preparing me to pass it.
Without hesitation, I would recommend Michael and PMA for anyone looking to prepare for a project management certification.
