If fine food is part of your quest for art, entertainment and satisfaction, at a great price, you will love the macarons, chocolate and baked patries. Located by the AMC theatres, it is easy to find, has comfortable seating, and easy parking. When in Desert Ridge, we stop there to have our regular «experience». Authentic! French!

Just had to come check out this place with all the great reviews. The place is nice, clean, and smell delicious! We each got our own macaroons and scope of gelato. The macaroons are very good. Texture (crispy, soft, and chewy) plus can’t go wrong with coconut! Gelato (vanilla) was very good too. I could have eaten another macaroon, but someone will need to roll me back to the car. LOL! The owner was so sweet and let us try some of the gelato flavors.

3.5 stars! My first visit after bookmarking this forever and a day ago!
I’d rate my visit at least 3.75 and even 4 stars, since the two people inside let me come in to cool off while still setting up shop for the 10:30 am opening. I used the time to study the menu, while the man brought chair cushions outside and uprighted chairs and tables, and then return to set up those indoors. I’d say that their timing is good if they were opening at 11 am, which is their opening time every other day of the week except Sunday…
Laurence, the lovely woman who took my orders and helped the man (sorry, did not get his name this visit) prepare my brunch, was friendly and amenable, and even prepared a second espresso for me, when the second cup of caffeine I’d ordered, an Americano, ended up smelling and tasting very strongly of perfume (hers, I presumed). Perhaps her wrist/​fingers had brushed both cups, because even the second espresso ($ 1.95) tasted slightly of perfume (though a HUGE improvement over the Americano serving!). I don’t think she understood my complaint, but a replacement was made, and I was happy. FYI, PR uses a tiny espresso machine, and the menu lists four different choices (I remember a French roast and a Brazilian– I chose the latter).
I already knew, from a couple of previous calls made, that PR sells almond croissants,
so I knew I’d try a couple. (The delicious pics on Unilocal showed them to be free of powdered sugar– yes!) If you’re sensitive to cornstarch, like I am, you may ask that the powdered sugar be left off, as it is dusted on before serving. These were amazingly flaky, with caramelized sugar topping, and generous (but not too much), sweet and buttery filling. I also try pains au chocolat and raisin wherever I find them, so I ordered one of each, as well.
They were good, but I found the chocolate a tad too sweet– but not so sweet that I wouldn’t order it again; The raisin was very good! Love the flaky twists of pastry! Was that a photo of caneles I saw on Unilocal?Need to try one of those, too, and look! I may try them as part of a $ 12.90 combo that gives you:
1. An espresso ($ 1.95)
2. A lunch entrée ($ 7.50; choice of ham & cheese croissant, Ficelle Picarde– listed on their menu book as a «crêpe,» and Croque Monsieur)
2b. All lunches come with a side of mixed greens and choice of dressing)
3. Two choices from the following: canele (orig. $ 2.50), financier (out of stock), and a French chocolate** (~$ 2.33 per, if bought in a bag of 6).
I went with the canele and a Rocher (praline and hazelnut filling, topped with chopped hazelnuts, and then enrobed in milk chocolate). I wanted to bring the latter home for Mom, but did pinch off a tiny piece and found it too sweet for my liking, but then again, I’m a dark chocolate fan… The ham & cheese croissant was good, but the white sauce made the croissant soggy, and I like my croissants flaky.
The salad had a few browned leaves included, but the grape tomatoes were fresh, firm, and vibrant in color. The canele (only the second piece I’ve experienced in my life) was a bit disappointing, and perhaps the first one I tried years ago, made from a recipe that the chef admitted to be experimenting with, wasn’t a Canele De Bordeaux, but I didn’t enjoy this one as much as the first. It was a beauty to behold, though.
I almost ordered an affogato (espresso poured over gelato), but decided to wait till the next visit. Did try a sample of the cappuccino and the stracciatella and marveled at how similar in sweetness and stickiness these were to that of Mesa’s Dolce Vita’s gelato I’d experienced at Chandler’s Peixoto, and then I noticed a printout plastered on the display case stating that these gelato flavors WERE from DV!
Thanks to Laurence and her co-​employee (perhaps one of the owners?) and to Groupon for providing me with a lovely brunch this morning! I’m looking forward to my next visit!
**Originally considered ordering a six-​piece bag of chocolates for $ 14 (a comely gift box costs an extra $ 1.70), but I’m glad I didn’t. Not because I didn’t like the Rocher, but because the 108 degree heat made the beautiful ball melt! Thank goodness I decided to wait. I’ll be sure to bring a cooler to help keep those beautiful Master French chocolatier Jean Michel Carre pieces of art from melting!

The best macaroons ever and the gelato tastes heavenly, the place is very neat and clean and the owner is so polite and friendly

The only reason I ate here was because I had a GROUPON. First of all, the owner acted annoyed that I was i came into her store. Can not understand all the hype about these macaroons. REALLY?! They aren’t that great. Oh, and can anybody guess how much they cost? $ 3.29 for one! Worst $ 3.29 I ever spent. One bite and it was gone. They are so tiny. Was not happy whatsoever. Will not be returning.

I need to go back and try the macarons. This review is based off the gelato. The worst gelato I have ever had. It had the most bizarre consistency, it was almost like it was melted and stringy, I don’t know how else to say it. The way she served it was messy and it went all over the place. I honestly would have give this place two stars, but she was really sweet and ran after me after I left my phone on the counter.

This past Sunday, I threw a baby shower for a friend, and I looked high and low for the «best macarons in town» and this place far exceeded my expectations! For many of the ladies there (myself included), it was their first time having a macaron and they were in love — delicious flavor, perfect texture and beautiful display. I am no professional by any means, but I very much enjoy baking regularly, and I can see that they put an enormous amount of care and attention to detail in their work. Truly amazing. We’ll be back for our next party :) p. s. Also tried the almond croissants– so good!

I’m a sucker for pretty, neat and clean. They also happen to have numerous offerings that satisfy my sweet tooth.
I come hear often, it’s the Canele that is the draw for me. This small pastry is deceptive in appearance; one expects something like a muffin bready texture buts it’s so far from that. The outside is slightly crispy from the caramelized sugar and the inside is a soft like custard (like bread pudding).
My kids have their favorites too. One always gets the chocolate croissant and the other always goes for the gelato. Both are also delicious!
I have had the macarons, but they are not for me. I just taste sweet butter.
The owners are always there and welcoming. I love the interspersed French dialogue while they wait on you.
It is priced slightly high.
If you can exercise self control, you can get out of there spending only a few bucks.

Always stop by here for macaroons and espresso. Friendly service and real French cooking!

The macarons are out of this world. Spendy? Yes. Worth it? Definitely.

Umm if I could live here and eat macarons all day long I would. The cookies are light and fluffy and magical. There are so many flavors and colors! It’s beautiful to look at but even more beautiful to eat them.

I absolutely love this delightful little French bakery, nestled inside Desert Ridge next to movie theater it has the tastiest pastries outside of France! The owners are husband wife from France. The quality is Superb and so is their awesome service. From the authentic croissants to the delicious macaroons or their handmade chocolates. They offer excellent Gelato! All fresh and natural ingredients made in house no preservatives. I’m glad they opened a place that offers a piece of delicious Parisienne culinary excellence that I don’t have to take a plane to indulge on. Bön appetite!

For my birthday, we decided to go for a traditional french galette.
The very friendly staff took our order and delivered one of the finest delicacy french cuisine has to offer.
It cannot be understated how great the cake was.
It’s a feat as I tend to prefer the variant that looks like crown and taste more like brioche.
A must have if you want some of the best pastries french cuisine had to offer.

I love macaroons and when I found about this place I did the 45 min drive. And it was worth it!!! I got one of each flavor and I couldn’t be more happier with the taste and texture of the macaroons.

Service was prompt and food delicious! Gelato was amazing and I loved the pain au chocolat:)
Seems like a French couple owns and runs the place. It is small but beautiful, has both indoor and outdoor seating.

The earl grey mascaron– must get!!! Or not, so I can have them all for myself. All the macarons I’ve tried are really good!
Gelato Panini– must get!!! So warm and so good. Perfect sweet treat! I’ve gotten it with the Nutella flavor– heaven!
As a heads up for the next time you visit– there is a note by the register saying they do take all major form of payments but do appreciate cash payments. I felt really bad seeing it and not having any cash to pay. Sorry, next time!

Let me just say, I love macaroons, like I could serious power through twenty and want some more. Clearly I have self control issues but that’s not the point. I’m trying to paint a picture and get you to understand how high the bar is set for macaroons and why I was so disappointed with these. They were so small, over priced and not killing it in the flavor department. Don’t get me wrong, they weren’t bad they just weren’t very good. They were okay, the shop is super cute and the lady with the French accent is a nice touch, just not nice enough for me to go back and spend 15 to 20 dollars. They are located in a very nice shopping plaza, right outside of the movie theater, maybe if I’m in the area and I’m craving a salted Carmel macaroon, I’ll stop in and buy ONE. that’s all.

Bonjour! This place. You walk in and you feel like you are in Paris while being at Desert Ridge at the same time. The associate was so nice. And literally right outside the shop, two ladies and a guy set up and were speaking French to each other. I find that fascinating. I love anything French. :) well anyway, I have only tried one thing from there. So far! It was the gelato panini. It was the most delicious thing I have ever tasted. The gelato is really good. The company that it comes from was trained in Italy. I can’t wait to go back. Even though I live so far! :) I definitely recommend this place to every single person who reads this.

Came to this little shop in Desert Ridge with a girlfriend yesterday. Both of us had never tried macarons so we said «what the heck?»
The owner of the shop was there and she was DEFINITELY french. Her accent was beautiful. She took the time to give my friend a sample of the Nutella gelato the shop had (they have about 12 different flavors) and also patiently answered all of our questions regarding the French chocolates and macarons in the shop.
Besides the gelato, the macarons and chocolates can be purchased in multiples at a small discounted price. We each purchased 3 macarons… the purchase totaled approximately $ 7.85. Expensive for 3 cookies but good lord they were delicious. I had the Rose, coconut, and praline while my friend had a coconut, orange liquor, and a chocolate. We both agreed unanimously that our favorite was the coconut.
For those who have never had a macaron, the cookie has the tiniest bit of a crisp crust on the top but underneath is a billowy, soft center with the most delicious filling. You just have to try it. Seriously. Worth every penny (or dollar).

Flying into Scottsdale is so much easier than flying to Paris, the next time I want authentic French pasteries & macarons. Tres delicieux !!! Loved every melt-​in-​your-​mouth morsel. I hear this is the best place for macarons in all of Scottsdale. Made with love & care & perfection by the shop owners, a sweet French couple, who moved to beautiful Scottsdale just to open this wonderful shop. Wishing them much success. I can’t wait to return!

First time here and the three items we had were delicious. A perfect little snack prior to our movie. We had an apple pie and a chocolate macarons and a vanilla caramelized bread pudding.

Best macaroons and gelato in the Valley. Gelato is from Dolce Vita in Mesa, voted Top 18 ice cream shops in the NATION! They’ve just started serving lunch: salads, croissant sandwiches and more. The owners are from France, recent transplants who only serve authentic French fare.
We just purchased macaroons for a 14 year old girl’s birthday party. Such a hit!

This place is extremely delicious and reminds me of being back in Paris. I purchased the lemon gelato, the cotton candy gelato, three chocolates, three macaroons, and a croissant. I can tell you that all were on par with the brasserie’s in France for sure.
I almost got the candles, wish I saw the recommendation beforehand, but what a great reason to go back.

I finally found a place to get canelés in the valley! They were what brought me out to Paris Gourmet, and they were delicious. So rich, buttery, and delectable. It’s like someone tried to turn crème brûlée or vanilla custard into a muffin. Crispy burnt sugar (in a good way) crust with an almost cakey vanilla custard interior. Mmm… wish I had one right now.
My friend tried a gelato panini (gelato on a roll) and said it was great. They also offer illy brand espresso, have a wide macaron selection, and a croissant selection, but we didn’t get around to trying those. Also worth noting that the owners are actually French.
Located near the AMC theater. Worth a visit! Check them out and try some French goodies. I’ll be back for those canelés. 5 stars.

The closest I’ve had in Phoenix to pastries in Paris.
The pain au chocolat (chocolate croissant) was absolutely splendid.
They also have gelato and macaroons.
I look forward to returning frequently.

This is our new top pick for macaroons since our previous top choice being a bakery at Santa Monica Place changed their ownership and macaroons along with it.
The proprietors are a nice French speaking couple that makes you feel welcome.

These are the real deal! They easily compete with any macarons I tried in Paris ten years ago. The assortment is great with flavors earl grey tea to peanut butter and jelly. I got a box of 6 2 each of Red Velvet, Lemon, and Raspberry for about $ 14. The red velvet is amazing, love the lemon but haven’t tried Raspberry yet but I’m sure I will not be disappointed. My friend tried the green tea — her first macaron ever and she feel in love.
I read some of the other reviews that mentioned the price — yes, macarons are a little pricey for a cookie but they aren’t easy to make and it really is a craft. I’ll gladly pay the $ 14 for 6 macarons from Paris Gourmet any day! Can’t wait to go back and sample more flavors and the gelato which looked delicious.

My friend and I finished our sushi lunch and wanted gelato. I checked Unilocal and found this new place nearby. The map location was wrong but I called and got good directions (food court next to the AMC theater). It’s a cute place decorated French style. I ordered half choco mint and half chocolate. The latter was much better. Since I’m a classic chocolate fan, I ordered two macarons in that flavor and one salted caramel, which is one of the more popular flavors. Loved the chocolate, it tasted like a fudge brownie. The latter was fine. These were pricier than I’ve bought at other places, and the guy seemed to rush us (though no one else was there). Still, the quality of the items were high and it’s nice to have more macaron shops.

Glad to see a cute unique shop like this in Desert Ridge! There is a good variety of macarons, gelato, and chocolates. Paris gormet is very clean and I really liked the set up and how everything was displayed.
I only tried three macarons, and had mixed reviews for them, but they are good quality and very soft. My favorite was salted caramel. very smooth and tasty! Second was praline, pretty good but not like incredible. My least favorite was the peanut butter and jelly, something about the crushed peanuts on top of that cookie just tasted odd to me.
My sister likes macarons so I look forward to brining her here! Also would like to come back to try the chocolates.
