History

Established in 2008.

ONE Community was founded in 2008 to connect diverse LGBT and allied Arizonans to businesses and organizations who are Open for Business to Everyone.

Over 1500 companies and non-​profit organizations representing more than a half a million employees have signed ONE Community’s UNITY Pledge including member-​based organizations such as: Local First Arizona, the Arizona Small Business Association, the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Arizona Technology Council and the Arizona Lodging and Travel Association. Collectively, these member-​based organizations represent over 20,000 businesses throughout Arizona.

Meet the Business Owner

Angela H.

Business Owner

Angela’s rich background in media has helped her succeed in uniting the LGBTQ com-​munity through events designed to engage our diverse LGBTQ and allied communities on a business and consumer level.

Ms. Hughey is a 2012 graduate of Valley leadership. She has won awards for her work as an independent filmmaker and was honored with the YWCA 2013 Tribute to Leader-​ship Award for Public Service. Ms. Hughey has received the HRC Individual Equality Award and was inducted into Echo Magazine’s Hall of Fame. Angela is a 2012 Business Journal Diversity Champion and sits on the President’s Advisory Council for Phoenix Col-​lege. ONE Community is the recipient of the 2012 Phoenix Pride Howard and Patricia Fleischmann Community Spirit Award. Ms. Hughey is a 2013 inductee into the Phoenix College Alumni Hall of Fame. Angela and ONE Community led the OPEN for BUSINESS to Everyone coalition in the first quarter of 2014 in response to SB1062, which led to an educational campaign of the same name
