Dr. Chris M.

Business Owner

Dr. Murphy is a native to Arizona and loves practicing in his hometown. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a Biomedical specialization, graduating Cum Laude from Southern Methodist University. Dr. Murphy then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with Honors at the University of the Pacific Dental School and his Master’s degree in Orthodontics at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.

Dr. Murphy is a Board Certified Orthodontist who has been voted by his peers as one of Phoenix’s top orthodontists in Phoenix Magazine. Dr. Murphy is a member of several professional organizations including the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists and the Arizona Orthodontic Study Group. He is also a Delegate to the Arizona Dental Association House of Delegates.

Love this Orthodontists office! We recently moved to AZ, and we were referred from our Dr. in California. The staff is super nice, helpful and professional. The office is pretty impressive and clean. Everyone is just GREAT! My 15 year old daughter felt so comfortable and immediately loved her new Orthodontists. The experience has been AWESOME!

Now that it has been three years since I’ve had my braces off, I think it’s time for a review! ;) Dr. Murphy’s office may be rad, but what makes he and his loyal team awesome is the personal and efficient service they’ve been providing since even before they moved in to their swanky new digs. We started out with my bottom front teeth so crooked that they were starting to overlap. With Dr. Murphy’s recommendation of going for metal braces, my teeth actually moved into place in about three months, and then the braces were on to «maintain/​enforce» that straightness for six months after that. How awesome is that? Dr. Murphy’s undergrad degree is in Engineering, and you can easily sense the technical perfectionist that he is. You are in good hands here.
I recall braces being painful when I wore them in middle school, but I never felt any pain this (late 30s) go around. The team gave me a «braces orientation»; including reviewing each item in a package of supplies they gave me. This really contributed positively to my overall experience, and I don’t know what I would have done without the ever-​important «wax»!! What I recall is a completely professional and totally put-​together team; especially Rhonda, who seems like the superhero of braces. Now, three years later, my (crowded) teeth are still straight. I wear a retainer when I sleep only, and my teeth have stayed perfectly in place. At one point, maybe 1.5 years ago, my retainer «chipped», and Dr. Murphy fixed and fitted it back and said «it will still work perfectly». He was right. Thank you, Dr. Murphy and team!

What a professional but SUPER nice and fun team!
Everyone from the front office to the Orthodontic Assistants to Dr. Murphy are wonderful! They are all so sweet and helped my 10 year old daughter feel comfortable and calm during every visit. We would highly recommend Dr. Murphy to anyone considering Orthodontic services.

I love this place, everyone is really caring and Dr. Murphy is so wonderful and great with kids. They have awesome perks to help kids want to take care of their teeth. I love that they have yummy coffee for me too :)
They have helpful financial programs to help make the braces affordable. I recommend they to all who are looking to an orthodontist. I will be getting braces as soon as my son is finished with his treatments.

Without question, Dr. Chris Murphy and his wonderful staff at Murphy Orthodontics provides the finest care and service in the Valley of the Sun. Both my son and daughter needed extensive orthodontic work and Dr. Murphy did a magnificent job on their teeth. Best Ortho in AZ! I had the same orthodontist back in California from the time I was 8 years old until I graduated high school who I thought was great at the time. When I moved to Arizona my teeth needed some correcting from not wearing my retainer, so I sought out a local orthodontist that did Invisilign. I was not that happy with the results. About 4 years after that I met Dr. Murphy, and he convinced me to try it again. I am ecstatic about the results, and I get compliments on my teeth & smile weekly. He provides a great service, got me the results I desired, his staff was wonderful to work with, he provides a fun environment, and the whole experience was excellent from beginning to end.

I have been blessed in the teeth department I guess. I have never had an Orthodontist before. My dear daughter however has not been so lucky. I blame her father and it’s possible my family for skipping a generation w my siblings and I but my child will be needing a little help to get that perfect smile.
The staff was very friendly and put the child at ease from the start. Warning to new patients though they use a digital fingerprint for signing in. While some kids might get excited about it and pretend they are Agent Cody Banks or a Spy Kid of some sort this doesn’t bode well with all parents I’m sure. I mean is it really necessary? I’ll answer this for you and the answer is a big fat NO. I’d deduct half a star if I could so 4.5 stars more like.
They have special programs for the kids where they earn coins and can buy things w the money. They also have other perks for the kids which I think is really nice. It looks like my little one will be going here for quite some time we’ll see if things will stay the same or if the newness of it all will wear out it’s welcome.
P. S. They take adult patients as well. Now if I could only mess up my teeth enough to get in a chair and have the hunky doc take a look at my chops.

I have just completed my orthodontic work at Murphy Orthodontics. Dr. Murphy and his staff are awesome. They are highly professional and competent, yet the office has an air of ease. It wasn’t always fun to go to those appointments, but everyone there always made me feel great about being there.
