Social Dancing is done on small, crowded dance floors in situations where the main purpose for getting together is a social event or celebration such as a wedding, party or a fun night out at a local hot spot.
Men will learn to lead, the ladies will learn to follow and as a team they will be able to dance to ANY song of ANY genre of music in just a few hours.
History
Established in 1980.
Mary Lou and Ed Kaye, two time national dance champions, began training to teach and share their love of dancing instead of competing about 1980.
This led to teaching around the country at many different dance festivals and events as well as teaching teachers at a convention in New York City.
In addition to teaching they also developed a unique form of dance contest with age categories that allowed people of all ages to take part on an equal basis.
They had a dance studio in the Chicago, Illinois area and then, after a move to the warmer climate and sunshine of Arizona, Mary Lou began offering classes in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
After all of the years of study, teaching and observing thousands and thousands of people of all ages on dance floors around the country, Mary Lou developed an extremely simple format of learning how to dance well in a really short period of time.

Business Owner
Mary Lou began dancing at the age of 3 and continues to enjoy the activity to today. While it has changed form over the years it’s all dancing which provides a fun social outlet, great exercise (without sweaty machines) and great health.
Before beginning her formal training as a ballroom instructor (which covered about 20 years) she was a «street dancer» during all her high school years and beyond. Polka dancing was a great draw because of its high energy and wonderful aerobic benefits.
In developing her uniquely simple style of teaching Social Dance, she used all the experience, training and observation that was available for her during her dancing lifetime.
Besides dancing, she enjoys hiking, tennis, reading and family life.
