Hyatt Regency Phoenix

Nice Lobby when entering and glass elevator. Rotating restaurant on top looks nice, but I did not eat there.
Rooms need to be renovated. Shower had mold stains around tub. Also, in our room, there was some kind of film on the window which kept the room dark during the day, requiring us to turn on the lamps. Not having enough natural light in the room during the day was depressing.
We put the Do Not Disturb sign on the door, but housekeeping came in anyway at 9:30am while I was in the bathroom.
In talking to others staying at this hotel, I was told that there are rooms that do not have film on the windows and face in the right direction for a beautiful sunrise.
Overall, we had a yucky room and I would not stay here again.

Stayed here for meetings many when I first came to Phoenix more than 10 years ago and was impressed with the cleanliness and service of this hotel. It is close to all kinds of shopping and dining choices as well. I came back here as my daughter stayed here with her friends and was once again impressed with the service. My daughter had left her favorite pillow in the room and she called the front desk right away when she realized it was missing. Security was sent to the room and her pillow found and it was held for her to pick up. We came back, requested the bell hop if we can park in the front, just need to pick up something really quick and he obliged right away! Then my daughter ran in, signed for her pillow and she was ecstatic to be able to retrieve her favorite pillow!!! Now that is great customer service!!!

Great location if you want to be near the convention center downtown. Out the front door and across the street is the center
Hotel room was clean and very large. View was of downtown which is not exciting at all. Pool area is small but well kept. The gym was a good size and open all the time

Extremely convenient location in the heart of downtown Phoenix. Couple blocks away from various restaurants, bars, and pharmacy/​stores.
Stayed here 1 night for an nfl football game. Just so happened an opposing NFL team was staying here and ended up in the elevator with a couple NFL players.
The rooms are not overly large but just big enough. Rooms are not overly spectacular but were clean, had enough amenities, and comfortable beds.
Service was excellent. There is a pool/​spa and fitness center conveniently located. I enjoyed using these facilities.
They also have an Einstein Bagel restaurant that serves delicious breakfast/​snacks.
Valet is easy to use but somewhat pricey. Would return.

Located downtown Phoenix, great parking convenient to get to restaurants and entertainment. The hotel itself is modern and very comfertable. There are also several amenities, pool and spa with skyline veiw, gym, bar coffee bar, restaurant all night delivery service on call so on.
Now let me say this review would of received one star if it wasn’t for the excellent staff facilitation correcting an issue we encountered with our room. However they did so efficiently and they were quite attentive to our immediate needs. The issue was resolved in less than 15 minutes and I am now relaxing in my beautiful room. A special thanks to Derek the Front Desk manager who spoke with me respectfully and is truly professional at his job. Kristen whom also works at the front desk, who delicately handled the situation gracefully and last but certainly not least Richie the lovely Bell Man who works at the Concierge Desk who’s kindness and attention to detail and impeccable guest satisfaction, changed my day. Thank you. You were all wonderful and we are grateful.

Where to start? It seemed nice when first arriving and then wow, how things turned quick.
The registration girl was so mean and rude I wanted to just leave right there.
The rooms are boring, small and not nice. The sheets on the bed were smoky smelling, so I took them off. The pillow are terrible.
There was no hot water for a shower in the morning.
The food is miserable and really bad in the restaurant. The service again lacking very much.
Should have stayed at the Sheraton… never again.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel but some features specifically the parking situation I could not ignore. This hotel is a solid 3 ½ stars but reduced to 3 stars due to the fact that parking costs 19.00 per day with a pass or 12.00 whenever you leave the parking structure. I HAVE NEVER PAID FOR PARKING AT A HOTEL AND NO GUEST SHOULD HAVE TO. I know it’s a metropolitan area but I think they should take the hit for the guest or provide deeper discounts for parking. The room was clean with an awesome view of the skyline. They provide a service to borrow household/​toiletries type of items like humidifiers, curling irons and even yoga mats for free. A very nice experience overall and would definitely consider staying here again especially if they get the parking situation under control.

I booked this hotel through Priceline for an interview trip and got an amazing deal! Very convenient location – just a block or so from the metro line, which takes you straight to the airport for $ 2 each way. The hotel itself is very nice, great amenities, clean, and great staff. There are a lot of restaurants in the area as well.

I stayed here for a convention/​show. That means I did not pick it. It worked out well though. It is conveniently located adjacent to the convention center. There are also several dining options within a short walk. You can get your morning coffee fix at the Einstein Bros located on the first floor.
The staff was friendly and helpful the few times I interacted with them.
My room was good sized and in good shape. The bed was fairly comfortable too. The bathroom was in good working order. Everything appeared to be clean.
I did order room service a couple times late. They brought the orders quickly enough both times. The food was solid for room service. The value was ok.

This hotel is everything you need. Comfortable beds, easy access to restaurants, and a breakfast restaurant in the hotel this hotel gives you everything you need.
The customer service was good and they helped answer any questions I may have had with no issue. I would not mind staying here again the next time I visit Phoenix.

Wasn’t wowed by our one night stay here. It is a pretty hotel at first glance, centrally located, and within walking distance of Chase Field, which is why we chose it when attending a Diamondbacks game. The lobby and architecture are both aesthetically pleasing, but the rest of the hotel is in need of updating and a deep cleaning. They have kiosks where you can self check in, and the ubiquitous coffee shop in lobby.
Our ‘grand’ king room was super small, but had a comfy bed and good linens; we did have a nice city view. Bathroom was borderline claustrophobic, towels were a little scratchy; parking is expensive, to be expected in the city.
Would stay again to see a game or attend an event, especially enjoying Hyatt Rewards member benefits, but not a top choice for DT PHX lodging. AOk is exactly my rating.

This Hyatt was one of the best I’ve been to in any major city. The views through the glass elevator were high and nice. The staff were always very attentive and the service was quick. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms did not feel cramped. Despite some people talking loudly where I could hear in the hallway, this never once bothered me since I couldn’t hear it in my room. The location was convenient to local restaurants and shops.

. $ 101 was a steal and it was for my daughter’s birthday. Well, the staff couldn’t have been nicer, especially to the birthday girl! They put us on the 20^th floor (great view of Phoenix and Chase Field) and as a birthday gift to Emma, they gave her a free in-​room movie (they chose Inside Out – big surprise!). On top of that, they paid for Dinner at the Compass Arizona Grill (a $ 150 credit!) — the revolving restaurant atop the Hyatt. I was blown away! The fun didn’t end there. The staff had arranged for seven (she was turning 7) cupcakes with Happy Birthday written in chocolate on a large plate to be delivered to the room. She was SO excited! The room was very nice, comfortable beds. Could not have been more pleased with our stay.

I truly believe a fish rots from the head. It’s no wonder the customer service is as bad as it is here. The director of operations doesn’t know how to lead a staff. The MOD is clueless and in over her head. The worst of the worst is the head of security. 3 fights broke out the night we stayed here. The bar over served everyone, police presence was needed and head of security decided to name call and assault a registered quest. He then proceeded to kick out everyone in the lobby including my brother and I, 2 of our friends and some other completely sober, innocent registered guests! We all had to find another hotel and were told that we’d be arrested for trespassing if we returned! It was like a bad movie or something and completely nonsensical. Talk about a power trip. This staff is in desperate need of training.

It was my birthday weekend and waned to a staycation and stay downtown Phoenix, so I picked the Hyatt Regency checked on Friday night and left on Monday afternoon.
I actually wound up booking a few rooms because I had family coming in from out of state. When I checked in I let the hotel know that only one room was mine that the others will be checking in later, I was asked why I was staying here, I told them to celebrate my birthday, the man who checked me in was very nice, told me happy birthday, upgraded my room and moved me to the 20^th floor, which was great for me because I was not on the same floor as the rest. haha
My staycation was great, staff was very friendly and offered any type of help if needed. In the main lobby every morning was freshly made infused water, that was a nice touch!
The room was perfect, the view was amazing. I even loved that the shower head was way taller than me. The beds were soft, and in the closet was extra pillows and blankets if needed.
This was a great staycation and wouldn’t mind doing that again.

I came here for a company conference and the hotel is located downtown, however I wouldn’t call it a true down town as there weren’t that many «shopping» areas, just a few small shops.
The day when I arrived, they had the Comica convention, the Hyatt staff was dressed down with T-​shirt for the Comica convention and I thought it was unprofessional. I couldn’t tell if they were the Hyatt staff or all the wierdos that was walking around the hotel.
The front desk was just ok, nothing special. It is just too casual for a Hyatt Regency.
The hotel rooms were decent and clean — no complaint there.
The catering portion was amazing! I had opted for Gluten Free option, and the Catering manager — Suzie Wood went out of her way to accommodate my dietary needs. The last day of our conference, it was boxed lunch, she came up to me and asked what kind of salad I would prefer, later she brought over a flourless chocolate cake as a dessert for me — WOW!!! The reason I have to mention «WOW» is because I also came back from Hyatt Regency in Denver and requested Gluten Free option, 3 days — 7 meals, not one meal they had accommodated me with Gluten Free option even after I have requested multiple times — thus my meal was delayed every time.

Par for a Hotel Stay and Conference Visit
The Hyatt Regency definitely shows its age. I was with a colleague there who said he remembers having his prom at the hotel in the 1970s!
The streetscape is dull and the entrance somewhat cramped. Conference areas and ballrooms are split– main ballroom (s) are on the first floor, in the center of the hotel, while the boardrooms are scattered on the second floor. Workable and there are some convenient work/​lounge areas. First floor is very dark whereas the second floor has a good amount of light.
Staff is nice and the food is pretty good. It’s one of those places where you can see a lot of potential with a good renovation and updated design eye to solve the bland architecture and interior spaces.

Great Location. Light rail just a few blocks away, Chase Field (Diamondbacks Baseball) only 3 blocks away (walking). Also the PHX pedi-​cab service is AWESOME!
About a 15 minute taxi ride from PHX Airport.
Nice Pool & workout room. (clean)
Horseback riding facility close by (20 minute taxi ride)
Concerge Staff very helpful with dining, shopping & local area.
Bell Service very friendly.

This is NOW my go-​to-​spot next time I’m in Phoenix!

We stayed here because it was walking distance to the US Airways arena, which is where the Phoenix Suns play. There are tons of eateries, bars, and clubs nearby, so it’s great to be able to walk everywhere an not worry about parking or DUIs. I’ve stayed here in the past so obviously these issues don’t prevent me from coming back:
Parking $ 19 self park.
Parking Garage is across the street, not connected to the hotel.
No rollaway allowed in our room per «fire marshall» so daughter had to sleep on floor
Our room had a connecting door to the people next to us. This door was not soundproof and we could hear the tv blasting until after midnight and heard their alarm go off at 4am.
I don’t know how reception/​guest services is because they now have a self check in kiosk where you swipe your credit card in and it prints out your room instructions and keys.

I was impressed by the lobby as it looked more modern and chic than what I think of for a Hyatt, but once I entered the room, it was a let down. Awkward layout, small TV and popcorn ceilings, BUT the bed was comfortable. The toiletries also included toothpaste and makeup wipes which were nice additions. The atrium layout also makes for a long walk from the elevator.
Valet parking is $ 28/​night or $ 19/​night for self, however the Chase garage next door has 24 hour parking for $ 14.
There’s an Einsteins in the lobby which is nice for breakfast, but the only other food option is their revolving Compass Room restaurant.
The gym was nice and spacious, with a large selection of machines. For a hotel, they had a better than average gym.
Overall, this hotel is not a bad choice for the area, but I would never pay full price for it. I also didn’t like that they’re not pet friendly. We got a great deal through Priceline, otherwise for comparable price I prefer the Kimpton Palomar.
