Fairytale Brownies

Wow! Aside from having some of the best brownies I have ever tasted, their customer service ranks among the best. We decided to give brownies to our top 200 customers this year. I selected Fairytale Brownies because they are a local company and they had a great product. I called on this company in my former logistics career and was always impressed and intrigued by them, although we never did business. We did our best to provide a nice clean customer list but as hard we tried, there were inevitably those addresses that were incorrect or had moved. They were on top of the process by providing daily updates for addresses where there was trouble as well as delivery notifications, attempts, etc.
I also had several addresses that I need to add after submitting my original lists. I always received prompt responses to requests and I always dealt with the same person (Mari is AWESOME)! In summary, a great product as well as excellent execution on the distribution! Thank you Fairytale Brownies!

Fairytale Brownies is a local Arizona company that makes brownies that are a perfect treat to send or serve to friends and relatives who live elsewhere. Or to just enjoy yourself. While it might be easier to just order your brownies online, there’s something to be said for wandering down to the factory to fulfill your cravings.
Don’t expect warm brownies fresh out of the oven if you visit. They’re the same brownies you would receive if you ordered online, served from a refrigerated case. Not a problem. They are packaged and sealed individually to maintain freshness. Do, however, expect samples for your trouble. Yum.
No big discounts for going to the source either. Prices are comparable to those posted online. The staff is helpful, however, and will let you know if promotions are available. Just ask. It’s also nice to see the different brownie sizes and packaging in person.
There is a window from which to view the «bakery». I’ve visited several times and have yet to see very much going on, but it can be fun for young kids. A little planning can increase your chances of seeing some activity. The glass is a bit hazy to look through because it’s fireproof.
Did I mention the samples? Oh yes. There’s also a Unilocal deal for a free brownie at check in.

These are the best brownies of all time. My husband had been getting them as holiday gifts for a few years and they are definitely the highlight of what I get to «borrow» for myself. Not a dud flavor in the bunch. Great gifts and variety of flavors. Toffee is my personal favorite. I recommend this place all the time!

Great gifts for any occasion, but a dangerous think to keep around if you are on a diet. These decadent goodies are amazing, rich, deadly, and worth it. I am normally a salt snacker instead of sugar, but I love these treats.
Coming up on Christmas I plan to keep these around for the grab and go gifts you always need when you go to a party or whatever.
Give them a test but don’t blame me if you end up with a new favorite addiction.

Uh, brownies FTW! We’ve been coming to this place since it was in a little shopping center on Thomas Road in Scottsdale. We have ordered online and sent the brownies as gifts. My brother has even used them for corporate branded gifts.
I am not one to gush about brownies — I mean, we’ll make them once in a while and eat the whole pan over a few days, but these really are top-​notch baked goods, worth the hype. I am amazed each time at how they manage to keep the brownies fresh; there must be some kind of magic in use. Either that or they turn over their inventory so quickly that they don’t have a chance to dry out and go stale! That is not entirely unbelievable based on the (totally justified!) outpouring of love from their extremely large and diverse fan base.
I am sad to see that the peanut butter flavor got retired, but I love the pecan, caramel and walnut varieties. I do have a request for a pecan AND caramel variety… you heard it here first :)

I’ve been a fan of Fairytale Brownies for a long time, 20+ years. So when K said she wanted to get a gift of brownies for a co-​worker, picking Fairytale was a no brainer. K thought they were available at Whole Foods. They’re not. My next stop was AJ’s. The AJ’s located on Ray Rd. did not have sufficient quantity of the types I needed so I bought what they had and headed over to THE SOURCE.
Now the Fairytale store is really nice and of course the selection is killer. Gift tins, boxes, plain and holiday related, everything you need to put together a great gift. The whole mail order thing right in plain sight. The employees working the counter were awesome. I told them what I was looking for and they did a great job of helping me choose the right brownies for K’s gift. They were super nice.
The goodies: Brownies, cookies and caramels. Winner winner brownie time after dinner. There are a lot of choices, swirls, nuts, no nuts, blondies. Wow. They sell the brownies in 3 different sizes. Brownies, Sprites and morsels. Plus there are sugar free options available. Nice.
Are they the best brownies in the world? Probably not. Are they better than brownies you make out of a box? I think so. But, EVEN if they were the same, the gift tins and boxes, special customizations they can do, the wrappers, it all ads up to a great product and presentation. And that’s something that makes it worth visiting Fairytale Brownies.
What I did find interesting was that the prices here at the SOURCE, were higher than the price at AJ’s. Seriously? Why would AJ’s, of all the places, charge LESS than the source?
AJ’s, $ 2.99 for the 3×3 brownie. The source, $ 3.25 for the same brownie. Strange, and not cool. Lose a star for that.
Good Brownies, cookies and caramels. Great employees at the store. Great selection. Great gift packaging. Higher prices than local retailer selling same product. 4 Stars.

This review is for the brownies only because I haven’t had their other products yet. THESE ARE THE BEST THINGS I’VE EVER EATEN !!! I pick them up at AJ’s Fine Foods for myself occasionally and have shipped them to family and friends as gifts. They are always a huge hit. I recently won a tin full of brownies with my dog’s picture on it for a contest they held. I can’t wait to try all of the different flavors.
When I sent the gifts out, the recipients went nuts over the blondies. It’s only a matter of time until i order some of those for myself too :)

Hands down, the best brownies!!! I like the chocolate chip, raspberry swirls, & walnut. They ship well and stay fresh for weeks, but after some time they do need to be refrigerated. The individual packaging looks kinda cheap, but don’t be fooled. It’s that good.

We returned from a 2 ½ week vacation to find an unexpected USPS box at the door. When I opened it I found FTB and a card that stated ‘best when…’. I did not know who the brownies were from and of course they had been inside the door longer than the week suggested. I tried one and wondered if I would get sick. :}
A quick call to FTB customer service and everything was resolved. (not their fault the giver sent the box not identifying it as perishable or that it sat so long). I am thrilled at the customer service from a company I had never heard of, and to top it off, the fresh goodies are really yummy! Hubby is enjoying the sugar free ones as well.

I have loved Fairytale Brownies for over 4 years of placing regular gift orders with them. But I’ll never order from them again.
Last December, when I placed two separate orders I used a gift card. I didn’t realize when I placed the order that they wouldn’t charge it until the shipment went out a few weeks later. When I did, at least a week before the second shipment was to go out, I called them back and said don’t charge that credit card as there wouldn’t be enough funds on it; I gave them another credit card to use.
As it turned out, they charged the gift card anyway. A few weeks later I got a call from FB saying that the charges had been declined so I gave them a new credit card # for the second, larger charge. I also checked with the gift card provider (ATT Uverse) and the lady I spoke to (I could no longer access the card info online as it had been used up) told me that the smaller charge had definitely gone through; certainly there were no more funds on the card.
When I just tried to place another order with Fairytale Brownies for Mother’s Day, their Customer Service Rep wanted me to pay the charge from December EVEN THOUGH THE FUNDS HAD BEEN DEDUCTED FROM MY GIFT CARD. The customer service rep had done NOTHING to determine which of their employees had not followed my instructions when I gave them the second cc number nor had she bothered to contact the credit card company to straighten things out.
Whatever happened to «The customer is always right» (especially when he’s already paid once for your products)? I’m sure I can find another brownie company.

I have a history with fairytales and with brownies. Fairytale Brownies and myself? We go way back as well. When I was still living in STL, the company for which I worked would give us these Fairytale Brownies on certain occasions and I fell instantly in love. I would order tins of them for Christmas and gift them to my family (and myself). This was back around 2000, pre-​vegan days.
Now that I’m vegan, I can no longer eat them, so I had forgotten all about them until my aunt came to visit me last month. She typically doesn’t eat sweets but she reminded me of her love for brownies. Then I remembered Fairytale Brownies and that they are based out of Phoenix. I took her by their store, which is really close to the Tempe area (not too far from the AZ Mills mall), and she was like a kid in a candy store! She got a bunch for the road and I picked up some to take back to my family.
They still had the popular flavors that I recall, like Toffee Crunch, Caramel, Cheesecake Brownie, Raspberry Swirl, Walnut, Pecan, etc. I also like that they offer the whole brownie square and the brownie halves, for portion control. Based on the way my aunt smashed that brownie, I’m guessing that they are still as delicious today as they were 15 years ago.
Now if only they’d make a vegan’s wish come true and whip up a magical vegan batch.

I’m not happy about writing this review because I have loved fairytale brownies for a very long time and to give them 2 stars is sad. I got a box of their brownies for Christmas and all the brownies were very dense, dry, and difficult to eat. This surprised me. One of the brownies was mint chocolate chip and it was like eating a piece of chalk. I tried another brownie again a week ago to see if the ones I got at Christmas was just a bad batch, but it tasted exactly the same: dense, dry, and super sugary.
I started eating their brownies back in 2000 and I loved them immediately. I even got my family hooked on them as well. The brownies use to have a light texture, were very moist, and they didn’t taste super sugary. I don’t know what happened but they are not the same brownies I used to love.
They are a great company. I don’t know if they read these reviews but I hope they can fix this because I miss how their brownies use to taste.

Delicious products! Both the brownies and blondies are yummy! Great gifts for the holidays to send something local. They taste delicious even after they ship them across country. The sprites are a good option to try many kinds. I have even froze some to eat later and they taste just as good when defrosted.

THE BEST BROWNIES EVER. You would expect pre-​made-​who-​knows-​how-​long-​ago-​and-​sealed-​in-​plastic brownies would be dry and crumbly. I didn’t have high expectations, especially since I ate my first one a good two weeks after receiving it. These brownies are the best I’ve ever had! They are so moist and soft and dense. My favorite is the toffee (giant pieces of soft toffee) but the just plain chocolate is mighty fine too. The caramel and white chocolate are great too. It’s impossible to go wrong.

Very pricey brownies for the portion. But, the brownies are delicious and are of good quality.
If you are willing to pay, then try it out.

I love to bake and I especially love to bake brownies. However, Fairytale Brownies does something to their brownies that a basic baker just can’t do. I don’t know what it is, I don’t know how they do it, but the brownies always taste like they just came out of the oven. They are that fresh. The chocolate is rich and creamy and every bite is better than the next. They have several different flavors to choose from, including chocolate caramel and chocolate peanut butter which are to of my favorites. I always open the package and say, «oh I will just have a bite.» Well, I quickly learned that once I have just a bite, I will be eating the rest. It’s worth the calories.
If you’re looking for a local gift to send to out of town relatives, this is your company. I send Fairytale Brownies as holiday gifts and they always arrive in a timely manner and perfectly packaged. I always get compliments from the recipient and they rave about how delicious the brownies are. The brownies come individually wrapped and are perfect for sharing. You can also get a full size or a mini bar.
If you haven’t had a Fairytale Brownie, now’s your time to do it. They sell them at locations all around the Valley, including all the AJs.

Every now and then, our business partners would send us a bunch of boxes of these Fairytale Brownies. First time I tried them, I got hooked. Every flavor is amazing: Caramel, Chocolate Chip, Original, Walnut, Cream Cheese, Toffee Crunch… etc… THEY ARE ALL GOOD. I’m scared to look at the nutritional facts haha. Boxes are really nice for gift packaging too! Thunder thighs here I come!

Ok, so after I wrote my previous review I saw a sale going on for a couple of different brownies (and it was close to my birthday) so I thought what the heck. I ordered some white chocolate and some chocolate nib brownies. I handed a few out at the office and everyone, including myself, were really impressed how mail-​order brownies could be this good! They are not dry or hum-​drum whatsoever!
I have now experienced and enjoyed every aspect of this business: selection, price, ease of ordering online, customer service (including dealing with hiccups), on-​time delivery, and now I finally got to try them for myself and I would totally recommend Fairytale Brownies for all of these aspects :) They make GREAT gifts!

Pardon my language, but these are some damned fine mail-​order brownies! I’ve been through various companies for such a product. They all delivered (heh)…but some were super amazing, but went stale quickly… others didn’t freeze well… but Fairytale is the real deal! More cakey than ooey gooey… but still super moist and delicious! Each one pops with the individual flavor you order. They are generously sized, the box makes for an awesome gift presentation, and both the purchase and shipping prices ain’t too shabby. I especially enjoyed the individual wrapping, opposed to boxing them together and just using tissue paper to separate. Solid choice, especially for gifting!
