My first and last visit to this place!!!
We were looking for feeder mice for our arizona native ground snake. The first thing the guy behind the desk says, «YOU KNOW ITS ILLEGAL TO SELL ARIZONA NATIVE REPTILES.»
Umm thanks for the heads up dude and the sour taste in my mouth but I only came looking for mice. I walked out of that store mid conversation. That worker was rude and very disrespectful.
I found a great fededer store called customer creatures on 19th ave and peora, family owned.

Bought a snake for my son there 9 months ago. Drove by today to pick up a rat and they are closed and all cleared out. Sign on the door says the rent wasn’t paid.

Somehow I feel that this store must have gone down hill. Every cage was filthy with little to no water. There were days if not weeks worth of feces in each and every cage including in food bowls and water bowls if the animals had them. They had a salamander that’s cage was so filthy I couldn’t even tell if there was water or dirt under all the algae let alone see the salamander.
They did have a large variety of snakes but they were without lights and some seemed to be going through bad sheds. One even had either an abcess or mouth rot.
Those snakes that weren’t shedding didn’t seem to have any available water source.
The owner and the other guy working seemed very nice and semi knowledgeable but neither one was making any effort to clean cages.
If they just put some effort into cleaning the cages it wouldn’t be a bad store. But as it stands I wouldn’t buy anything from this store as I wouldn’t know what kind of health issues the animals might have.

The new location is very nice, and everyone who works there is friendly and each person really knows there speciality. By far one of the best reptile stores in the valley. I’ve been in to Tropical Treasures down the road, and almost walked away due to the smell of feces and animals rotting in their cages. Pet Safari went out of business because they couldn’t keep a cage clean or a racist comment inside their mouths. Everyone at Predators and Prey are warm, inviting, and knowledgable. If you want anything, they will special order it for you, and give complete follow up instructions and care tips. They also rescue animals that have been abused or just need a good home!

Exotic Predators and Prey has moved from their old location a couple blocks down the street to 2948 E Bell Rd. The new store looks great and is a much better fit size wise for a reptile store. They still sell a wide variety of feeder insects/​rodents which are fairly priced.
While they haven’t really built up a large selection of animals yet, an employee at the store told me they will be getting in a bunch of new herps in September. Make sure to stop by to see the new store and I know I’ll definitely be going back once they get some more reptiles in.
All their employees are very knowledgeable about every animal they sell, which is not true of every pet store.

I accidentally stumbled across this store… I didn’t know they were there on Bell Road.
I own a 7′ long Columbian Red Tail Boa… and he is hungry!
So I stopped in to pick up a «frozen» treat (rat) for his dinner. They had a really good selection of sizes… MUCH MORE than Petco (and I won’t even mention PetSmart).
The girl working at the store (Brandi) was very helpful!
They had a good selection of snakes for sale… mostly Ball and Burmese Pythons and Red Tail Boas. There were a few small Albinos.
They had other «exotics»… turtles, tarantulas, etc.
I will definitely be back for my snakes dietary needs!
