Easley’s Fun Shop

After making an online purchase and calling to verify before pick-​up, my purchased item was sold out from under me to an in-​store buyer. To their credit, they did try to correct the mistake by rushing an order to their store and offering to deliver the next day. The delivery never came; apparently is was taken to the wrong home. When I called to nquire about it, I was YELLED AT by the rudest woman I’ve ever spoken to. It was like being in the twilight zone. She even kept me on the phone so I could overhear her phone call to the girl who supposedly delivered my item. Poor thing, it wasn’t her fault, apparently it was my fault that they first sold MY purchased item to another customer, and that it was delivered to the wrong house. She all but called me a liar, as if I had something to gain by saying something hadn’t been delivered to my home when she insisted otherwise. Perish the thought that she should admit they’d made (another) mistake. It was bizarre. That she was rude and unprofessional is an understatement. I have never been so badly treated. I will await my refund, and I will never darken their door again. Long term family business or not, they aren’t the only game in town, and they don’t deserve my business. Or yours.

Great selection of wigs, and intermediate to advanced costume design elements. Had fun with my kids picking out accessories for their Halloween Costume.

This is THE costume shop to go to, its well worth the drive wherever you live in the valley. Rent or buy, prices right. Hard to find costumes and themes can be found here, great selection in all sizes. We found a Teddy Roosevelt rough rider costume here for school project last year, knew we’d have no trouble finding Halloween costumes. Trying them on and searching for accessories in a timely fashion with two kids and a baby was a breeze. This was 5 days before Halloween. Very attentive, helpful and energetic staff everywhere. They will help you put your own creations together as well. Had a candy bowl for the kids to choose a treat at register. Very nice :) Will always come back

These guys are the best place to get special make up! The employees here are always helpful! They will even order speciality makeup and latex if they don’t have it in house.

It has its own parking lot downtown which is excellent. Once I got in there was friendly staff already asking if I needed assistance. I came here looking for a Halloween costume after no luck at the Spirit store, Party City, or Fascinations. There is an endless amount of costumes to choose from and they are slightly less than market value. After looking through everything I finally found one. :)
It was also unique in that the atmosphere was very informal and very warm and inviting, all I heard were stories and laughs between the staff, and they asked me pretty often if I needed any help and when I did they were very thorough and thoughtful about it. :)

A month and a half ago I came in looking for the movie realistic Captain America costume for a Con event this weekend. There was no M size which they offered to order for me and assured it would arrive before I flew out of town for the event. I was skeptical they would actually do this but I agreed. Two weeks ago I got a call to make sure I was still interested and they told me they would place the order.
Today I called to Inquire about the order, they had received a shipment in but my costume was not one of those items. Desperate, I asked about trying on the rental version and I was told to come in. I drove from the east valley today and when I arrived, was told that costume had already been rented out until Wed. I am very frustrated and feel stupid for trusting they would get it for me. I should have ordered it online myself but now it’s too late. The event is this weekend and I don’t know what to do. As a performer I have been shopping here for years. This was important to me and I continue to hope they call me this week with my costume in stock.

Amazingly friendly staff. After wasting time and money on Amazon — I found the canes I needed right here at easleys for cheaper than any Amazon deal! I’ll just skip the trouble next time — they have EVERYTHING

Good selection. Its nice to. Have everything you need nearby for last minute costume needs. I’m a displayed so it comes up more than for most. I will say though that 2 out of the 6 people working are friendly. And this is a repeat occurrence. Usually there is a guy at the back counter that is friendly and a lady up in the front by the mass costumes. I also wish they had some other brands of face and body paint to choose from.

Terrible experience! I will never return again. I was yelled at, made to be humiliated in a public, unprofessional, and childish environment. I called to see if an unworn item that my boyfriend rented could be exchanged for another. I did not know their policy which is why I called. I was immediately scolded and treated as though I were trying to run a scam. I said «there is no need to be rude, I do not know your policy and this is why I am calling to ask. If it can’t be done that is fine just tell me nicely». After this the manager told me that she was not trying to be rude and that I just don’t understand what she deals with. I told her that I understood but that she had no right to assume that I was doing something wrong. She let us return to the store to see if there was something else we wanted to exchange for. While we were searching the manager was speaking at the top of her lungs so we could here her and said «did you see those two walk in? The girl said that I was rude! When have I ever been rude?» She said «can you believe that» not only to employees but to customers.

Can you say EVERYTHING you NEED and MORE! They have an amazing selection of party apparel as well as gag gifts. I would shy away near Halloween as the place becomes a zoo! Don’t worry about finding what you need as the staff know exactly where everything is. There is anything from sexy, themed or rental costumes available. Stop in for a good time!

When I first started doing drag shows (8 years ago), this place had amazing amounts of facial hair to chose from, some obviously fake and comical, and some realistic looking stuff as well. I like a variety of facial hair so this was a perfect one-​stop shop. I’ve been coming here ever since!
Recently I went looking for some accessories etc. for a masquerade-​themed NYE party I’m going to. While they didn’t have everything I wanted per se, they also didn’t disappoint; I got a cheap but sturdy top hat to decorate and a cane I plan to bling up as well. Wish they had more cane options as well as top hats, but their space is limited and I get that.
One downside: they’re closed Sundays. They really need to open up on Sundays if they limit their hours to 10 – 6 daily all other days (the hours listed are Unilocal are currently incorrect).

Most amazing customer service ever. My son and I were there and they didn’t have the exact costume he was looking for — the joker. Deb helped us piece together an even better option and my kid left smiling from ear to ear. Cannot recommend them highly enough and will never shop anywhere else. Love Easleys!

I don’t know how this place has stayed in business so long… they are so rude… they act like their crappy rentals are gold and «EVERYONE» is going to steal them. They want a «major» Credit Card before you can rent anything. My husband and I are Debt Free we use cash or our debit cards for everything. I can get a rental Car easier than rent a $ 40 costume… that’s pretty sad.
Don’t bother with this awful business the internet and Party City are better

Yes, this is a local institution and a place to get costumes year-​round. And yes, the customer service is terrible. Not sure why it’s self-​deemed a «fun shop» with grumpy, rude employees who are be better suited for work at the Maricopa County Jail. With sub-​culture costuming bubbling up to pop culture status, a competitor offering a more welcoming experience could give this high margin business a run for their money. Until then, there’s always the internet, or better yet, just make your own stuff.

Will definitely keep this place in mind the next time we need any costume or accessories. There is an AMAZING selection of make-​up, both of the Halloween variety and high quality theatrical make-​up. During our first visit, we only saw the make-​up hanging up on the display. The counter area was a bit crowded, so we didn’t see the great assortment of make-​up available there.
During today’s visit, one of the owners (Ashley) was extremely helpful. She took loads of time steering us in the right direction and even offered to assist with some application tips and help if we ever needed.
This shop is well laid out, easy to find whatever you need, and so many items you never even thought of! Worth a visit just to look around and get ideas!

The customer service is the worst. They all walk around in imaginary demon costumes because that’s what they act like. Ashley Easley or at least that’s what she tells customers is the most rudest person ever. It amazes me how they are still in business. I am a makeup artist and I work with a lot of other makeup artists in the industry which isn’t very big in Arizona and I will make sure to let them know to stay 6 000 000 feet away from Easley’s Dumb Shop! Thanks for nothing monsters of customer service you guys SUCK!

I think this is the party/​costume store that has the largest selection I have ever seen, but despite this they didn’t have all that we needed. After determining that they didn’t have a mug shot prop we asked a girl who was just standing there doing nothing, where we could find something else. Instead of showing us she did the «Home Depot maneuver» and just pointed and described to us where we could find it. The store has a layout that makes it difficult to find things, so we had to ask another person.

I was a little embarrassed to come into a costume shop… I’m a diehard Trekkie and I have wanted a TNG uniform since I was a little kid. I finally broke down and indulged my fantasy. I was expecting weird looks, but the staff here were so awesome and took such good care of me that I was able to model my Next Generation science officer’s uniform without shame! At the end of it, the owner disappeared into the back and came out with a die cast Star Fleet communicator which she gave me free of charge! Talk about making my day :)

I haven’t really been to any other costume shops so I can’t really give them 5 stars with nothing to compare, but nonetheless this place is pretty great!
Like most people have said the parking lot is teeny tiny, but there’s a guy that drives around on a golf cart giving you rides if you park on the neighborhood next to them (probably only during Halloween) but I thought that was nice, they don’t have to do anything like that, it just shows they go a little above and beyond.
I walked into this place knowing exactly what I wanted to be and exactly what I need to complete my costume and I’m not kidding you when I say that I found EVERYthing that I needed. It was seriously a one stop shop. Awesome!
I needed fake red nails, green face paint, eyelashes, a black ring, a black collar and lipstick and walked out of that place with all of it! They were SUPER busy when I went, JUST before Halloween of course (leave it to a procrastinator) and even though they were running around they did a good job at helping me as much as they could. I was Malificent, btw.
Give them a go if you need something costume related. Don’t shop on their website, it’s just not the same and really not a good representation of their store!

Easley’s really is the best you can get in town. I have been to a number of shops, and you are wasting a ton of time at those places… really you are
~What to Do~
Anytime year round you can stroll in here looking for any combination of costume-wear…like wigs, accessories, actual costumes and rentals.
~The Good~
This place is designed to be a one-​stop shop, and believe me when I say they are just that. Plus its local, how can you beat a well-​run local retailer? They have everything. I mean… everything. I went as Brick this year for H-​Ween, and Great Odens Raven, they had a trident! The hair product to change my hair black worked like a charm, and in previous years each time i needed a small item, they had exactly what I needed. Its a treasure trove of awesomeness peeps. DO NOT go to a cookie-​cutter shop when you can find the costume you are looking for, and in many cases numerous versions of said costume.
~The Bad~
Because its so popular, things rarely run out… but it will happen, this place is popular. So being popular, you have to come during non-​peak times of the year to get what you want… just come prepared and early for H-​Ween! The parking lot is small, so that’s another negative come H-​Ween time. The staff are running everywhere during peak season, so do not expect amazing availability of reps. They also at times can be a bit short… Its not ultra-​alarming, I’ll gauge this as I continue to shop here. I’ll update if it becomes a continuous issue.
~The Down Low~
This is the best shop in town, so no need to explain their rating, they get 5 stars across the board. No costume shop in the valley is year round and stocked as full as Easley’s. Come down for virtually anything and they’ll have it… bank on it.
