The staff at DIY Auto is helpful, friendly, and competent. I would say that anyone who is going somewhere else would be losing money. I recommend that anyone who is in the Phoenix Area, especially try it. Where else can you go and bring in your own parts, oil, etc. without having to pay a markup? They can diagnose problems. If you have a problem finding what is wrong, they will find the problem without throwing 500 dollars worth of parts at it first. To be able to work in stall with a lift is extremely good for such a low rental fee. Each rental bay comes equipped with a full set of mechanic’s tools. All you have to bring is your vehicle and the parts you need or you can order them through the shop over the phone when something comes up that you don’t have the part for. Try it, you will find you are saving at least 55 dollars an hour in labor fees. If you get stuck on anything they will help. Anyone who is living at an apartment complex or condominium complex knows about H.O.A. rules that don’t allow people to work on their vehicle in the parking lot. This provides the perfect option. Do you have a «check engine» light on? They have the diagnostic equipment there to tell you what the problem is. Do yourself a favor AND tell all your friends who work on their own vehicles. Also, if you need them to do it for you, they will do it for less than most anyone in town.

BEWARE! I took my car to this guy (Norman Heck aka «Skip»), because I trusted him. He really seemed to know his stuff, and I thought he was an honest and professional mechanic. He not only scratched my hood so deep that the paint came off (looks like someone put a mechanical component on the top of it and it slid), but he didn’t even own up to the responsibility of not connecting the power steering pump to the reservoir correctly! His response to anything is that it was like that before he got it. Along with that, my car was in the shop nearly two weeks. I was told it would only take a few days. He has great rates, but it is NOT worth it. I REGRET TAKING MY VEHICLE TO HIM! It was a HUGE mistake. Do It Yourself Automotive is a joke, and if you don’t believe me; take a good look around the shop and at the way things are run. Take your car elsewhere if you don’t want any trouble.
