Devon’s Mobile Detail

Made 3 appointments and he was a NO SHOW all 3 times. Don’t know how this guy stays in business. Never called to explain why he could not keep his appointment time.

It’s difficult to review the quality of their work since they failed to show up for the appointment. Even worse, because my home was outside their service area, the location they said would be appropriate was 30 miles from my home resulting in a 60 mile round trip for no reason. I waited at the agreed location for well over an hour beyond the scheduled time during which I twice called the cell phone of the person who was supposed to meet me and do the work and I also called the company’s office number. No one ever answered the phone and although I left voice mail messages each time, I never received a call back until I left the location and drove home. When I was almost home I got a call claiming the work vehicle had gotten a flat and there was no spare so they missed the appointment. (Ever notice how many more flats there are than there are flat repairs?)They never explained why that prevented them from calling in response to my voice mails but promised to make it up to me by coming to my house and doing both of my cars. The man said he’d call me the next day to schedule a time, but he never called and I’ve never heard from them. This is a company that sounds wonderful over the telephone, friendly (Larry couldn’t be nicer) responsible (so apologetic for their missed appointments), understanding (so sympathetic to your wasted time and money), etc., etc., but apparently they really don’t give a damn about you so long as they can make a convenient sale. When the sale becomes inconvenient they just ignore you. Maybe I was just unlucky or maybe those flowery reviews should be viewed with suspicion, but I’ll never deal with them again and I’ll tell that to anyone who cares to listen.

Came out on their day off to take care of my car. Discussed upsell packages in advance over the phone and kept to the agreed upon prices when they came out. Called ahead of appointment to confirm, and warn me of 15 minute delay. Were friendly and completed work in a timely fashion. Totally happy with the customer service and the job done. Thank you!

I use these guys all the time for my very loved Porsche. I would never think of using anyone else. They are always punctual and will throw in extras from time to time. After they are done my car looks brand new again. I’m very picky who I give my business to and I am very satisfied with this service.

I am shocked to read others reviews which cite Devon’s Mobile Detail as a scam — I am completely satisfied.
I purchased a Living Social and received prompt and professional service. It was clear that they paid complete attention to detail on this detail — my car looks like it belongs on a showroom floor instead of inside a dingy parking garage.
I am docking a single star because Darren neglected to mention that the seat conditioner he offered would result in an up charge that I wasn’t prepared for but, it was definitely worth the $ 40 it cost.
Although I usually take my car directly to the dealership to get detailed, I’ll be using Devon’s Mobile Detail from now on.

I purchased a Groupon not sure what to expect based on the reviews. I received prompt return calls, excellent customer service and reminder calls. Excellent detail though there was a misunderstanding in regard to my seats being cleaned. Devon phoned wanting to make it right, offering the service for free. His employees (brother and sister the first time) were prompt and professional. The two gentlemen who came out for the seats, (also prompt) cleaned the seats and were gone before I could tip them. SCAM ALERT!!! OWNER took payment, upsold, then took off with out doing work.
Using LivingSocial and Groupon to SCAM people out of money.
Darren (THIEF AND CON ARTIST) Diburgo Owner of Devon’s sent 2 people to work on my vehicle and then told them to leave with out doing the work (AFTER THEY UPSOLD ME). I called the office where no one was answering the phone and no voice mail to pickup. Then I was given Darren’s cell phone number (480−270−0411) by the detail guy. When I talked to him he quoted «fine print policy» from his website, that doesn’t exist. (I have timed and dated Printed Screen shots from website). When I read to him the policy «fine print» verbatim from the coupon he swore at me calling me a Jackass telling me my vehicle was a piece of «shit» and that I wouldn’t tip his guys well enough then hung up the phone on me. In the mean time he folks drove away. THIS IS AFTER THEY WERE PAID!
They use coupon scams to get paid up front and then do not honor the job. His people did NO WORK, but attempted to UPSELL me on site. I agreed to the upsell but when they heard Darren (The owner) swear at me over the phone they gave the money back and drove away.
Darren is using this scam to take money in advance we’ve bought and paid for 2 cars to be detailed and have NOTHING to show for it but an empty wallet. We plan on fighting this with the Credit Card company and the Coupon company but EVERYONE should know about his unethical business practices and SCAM tactics to shake down and collect money in advance, then not perform any services.
Also told me on the phone that he doesn’t pay his guys they only make money if the customer tips well and because the vehicle (a dirty 4×4) was a piece of $#IT I probably wouldn’t tip well after they worked hard. Funny part is I already had a big tip sitting on the counter because I knew it was a lot of work and I didn’t want to do so I’d be happy to pay someone else to do it. I guess I’ll go to SuperStar Wash and get it done. I try to support «Small Family Business» but this guy is a liar and a thief STAY AWAY FROM Devon’s Mobile Detail.
I also know the «positive reviews» from this site and the same «six friends» and their cars from the website. I wouldn’t trust this guy

I hate giving reviews with less than four stars but I have to agree with most of the people on here. I have called twice and left messages but never got a response back. I hope in the future they can return messages so I can schedule a car cleaning with them!

My daughter was coming out from California and I knew she would appreciate a min detail on her SUV so I bought one of these coupons. They returned my call the next day, we set up a schedule and they called when they were on their way (even came a few minutes early). While my daughter keeps a pretty ship shape car; Devon’s got right to work and did an excellent job. She went over everything with a fine tooth comb, gave them a nice tip and dad got a «thanks» kiss. What could be better?!

I’ve used Devon’s for a few years now. I have 2 cars and a pickup. They do a great job. The owner, Darren is a very nice guy. They always have 3 to 4 people working on a car and finish up very quickly. Nice to have them come to the house or your office and your vehicles are not tied up at an offsite location.
In the past, I also have had problems getting hold of someone to schedule an appointment. I know they are doing better at this.

Just had my 2011 Chevy Silverado Extended Cab detailed by the crew and they were fantastic. The owner was very quick to respond to my questions prior to scheduling the appointment and I got a reminder call the day before my appointment which is always great customer service in my book.
I would highly recommend Devon’s to anyone I know.

I have had my car detailed with the mini detail twice in the past year. They do a spectacular job and all of the employees are very courteous. I would give them 5 stars but…
They are difficult to reach, as many of the reviews on Unilocal mention. If you leave a message, they don’t call you back for days. That is the only drawback I found. If you can wait for them to call you back, you won’t be disappointed. But they really do need to get that one aspect of their customer service figured out pronto.
Still, I would recommend them or have them detail my car again any day if I’m not in a hurry for them to get back to me.

We just had our truck detailed yesterday and all 3 workers were great. They did a great job and were extremely friendly. I would use them again.
I did have a few issues scheduling but they have fixed the problem with in the company and emails and phone calls are returned without a problem now. If you’ve had issues scheduling please try again. They have fixed their scheduling issues and are totally worth scheduling with!

Watch out with these guys! I purchased a mobile detail through Living Social. Tried to schedule it multiple times, but they never answer the phone, and for awhile, the voice mail box was full. Finally got scheduled, then it was a no show. Tried to reschedule again, second no show yesterday. I called Living Social and they were kind enough to credit me for future Living Social purchases. As far as Devon’s Mobile Detail, not honest, reputable, or anyone worth doing business with. Avoid them even if the price seems good!!!

I dont know how this place stays in business. I bought a deal through Amazon and had to get a refund. They dont answer their phone, you cant leave a message, and they dont respond to emails.

Let me start by saying BUYER BEWARE! I received a Groupon for part of my first Mother’s Day gift from my mom since I wouldn’t have time to really get in and deep clean my car now that I have an infant.
I have called twice to schedule my appointment, and both times my call went straight to voicemail & it said they where overwhelmed by their recent Groupon, but would honor them & to be patient. I still have not heard back from anyone (it’s been over 2 weeks since my initial call), so how can they honor them when they won’t even return phone calls??? I can understand getting overwhelmed by a daily deal, but have the courtesy to return customer calls. If you are going to run a successful business, this is not the way to do it. I am extremely disappointed in this company.

I bought a Groupon for a detail several months ago. They have not returned my phone calls, and the last time the voice mail was full so I could not even leave a message. I have asked Groupon to look into this, but they have dropped the ball as well. It has been over a week, and Groupon sent me an email apologizing that they were too busy to look into it and no action has been taken. If this company got overwhelmed by their Groupon, I understand, but then give me the option to get my money back if you can’t follow through, or at least call me back to tell me how long I will have to wait to get my car detailed.
Update 2÷24÷13. Groupon was unable to resolve the issue and refunded my money, in Groupon bucks. I tried calling Devon’s Mobile Service again, but got a recorded message and no response.
So while I can’t comment on the quality of this company’s detailing job, I think that if they are overwhelmed with phone calls, then they need to hire someone to return the phone calls and at least let people know approximately how long it will be before their Groupon can be honored.

Just got the car detailed today — in fact the detailers Joey, Jamie and ‘Quis (short for Marquis) just left. They were on time, polite and DID A GREAT JOB, and I would gladly work with them again. That’s the good news.
I had two problems with this company. Here’s the one I can pin directly on the company — They don’t return phone calls, until after you have called and left messages about four or five times over the course of two or three weeks. Sometimes their voice mail won’t even click on due to the «phone being turned off or out of the service area». I personally think the real reason is because their voice mail is full.
The second problem I had (and I don’t know whether to blame it on the company or on KGB Deals, from whom I bought the detail deal) is that my detail didn’t include seats or the «headliner» (which is the ceiling of the car). These exclusions were NOT listed on my deal certificate. The detail guys said, «Well you had to click on a second link on the online certificate before you printed it out to see the exclusions.» So I went online and viewed my certificate again. There was no second link to anywhere and the exclusions were not listed and nowhere to be found. I tend to believe this exclusion problem was the result of a screw-​up by KGB DEALS, not the merchant themselves
While I have your attention, I’d like to shout from the rooftops to NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM KGB DEALS! This is the last deal I will ever buy from them. They have the worst service I have ever experienced from any deal site ever. They will NOT refund your money (or even give you an account credit) if a merchant goes south on you and does not honor the deal, or if they merchant won’t return your calls trying to make an appointment, etc. You can’t talk to a human and you will get stall after stall, week after week, and never get results. Keep your business with Groupon, Living Social, Deal Chicken, Eversave, Enamor, Voice Daily Deals or Local Dines — all of them are reputable companies, but KGB DEALS IS THE WORST DEAL SITE ON EARTH!

Bought the living social deal and has been nothing but problems. I couldn’t get a hold of him for like a month. After I complained to living social I magically got a call from him and he told me it was his voicemail.
After I finally got the appt. he told me on those phone that with every deal he was losing money, a real sob story. He told me on the phone that th e seats were extra and I told him I didn’t want it anyway. He then told me there would be tax to pay when he showed up.
When he came to the house he inspected the car and apparently dog hair in the car is extra, 15 dollars to be exact. I felt like it was a total bait and switch.
His work was good however. Just didn’t like the upswell and the constant nickel and dime this guy put me through.
Hopefully he reads these reviews and works on not being such a shyster.

I’ve used Devon’s detail on three separate occasions. All were outstanding experiences. I’m a busy guy, and waiting at a corner car wash for them to do a mini detail, even if it works out to be the same prices or even slightly cheaper than Devon, is 1 hour of my life, minimum, that I’ll never have back.
So Devon comes to my place of work, and cleans the car in my parking lot. He’s professional and friendly and efficient.
My car is usually very dirty, with two small kids, and when he’s done it look like it just rolled off the dealer’s lot.
I mean, how do you beat that convenience? Seriously. Five minutes of handing him your keys, then paying him at the end quietly, and your car is amazing.
Why would you ever bring it to the corner car wash lot for a detail?
A lot of industries have tried this «mobile» «we come to you» service. I think detailing of cars is perhaps the most perfect marriage of mobile capability with a service that I’ve seen.
Use Devon’s with confidence. Don’t expect 12 hours of labor for $ 50… some of these reviews are crazy. You can’t expect a badly abused car with 5 years of road tar and bugs to look like it just came out of the paint/​auto body shop. But if you have any reasonable expectation of what a very good car wash, wax, mini-​detail inside a car can do with say 3 people working non-​stop for 40 minutes, then you will be thrilled with the outcome.
I know that for the foreseeable future, Devon is my «detail guy».
