History

Established in 2012.

James E. Cross left a very successful legal career in order to found Cross Business Consulting Services. His background in troubled debt, corporate insolvency, and loan restructuring motivated him to assist businesses before they are forced into bankruptcy. Being a resident of Phoenix for over thirty years he saw the opportunity to provide assistance to local businesses hit hard by the recent economic climate. Having handled many high profile cases, Jim played a crucial role in the turnaround of several iconic businesses in the Valley. Now that he is not restrained by the requirements of legal processes he can contribute his invaluable expertise to the businesses he works with.

James E. «Jim» Cross has been licensed to practice law in the state of Arizona since 1983. Jim is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. Jim is also licensed to practice in the State of Texas. Since 1989 Jim has been certified as a Specialist in Bankruptcy Law by the Arizona Board of Legal Specialization.

During most of his legal career, Jim has represented debtors, creditors, committees (equity and unsecured), trustees, asset purchasers, etc. Jim has also served as a court appointed examiner and mediator. Jim holds an AV rating from Martindale Hubble and in the areas of bankruptcy and insolvency practice has been ranked among the Best Lawyers in America and Superlawyers for the past several years.

In January, 2012, Jim left his position as Chair of the Bankruptcy department of the Phoenix law firm, Osborn Maledon, P.A., to open Cross Business Consulting Services, LLC.
