Compliments at A Hilton Salon & Spa

Sammi is my hairstylist and she’s great! She does great hair and she’s hilarious and friendly. She’ll be honest with you about whether or not she thinks what you want us do-​able and how it will look.
The shop is very nice and comfortable. You don’t feel intimidated coming here. Everyone is great!

Tried this place because it’s close to home, and figured they’d give a good cut. I was mistaken. Maria cut my hair the way she felt like cutting it, not the way I requested. Even gave her a shot at correcting the cut, but she had to ask someone else how to do it. Honestly, at $ 55 a cut, you’d expect a professional in the business to stay current with styles. Perhaps she’s better at cutting thick hair, but she doesn’t have a clue how to cut fine thin hair!
Management seemed apologetic and gave me a 50% discount on a cut if I wanted to come back again with either Maria or another stylist, but honestly, who wants to take a chance on another bad cut? (Why would I expect anyone else to be better, when they keep someone this bad?)
…Ok, in fairness, decided to give this place just one more try, this time with another stylist. Will update when I know more.
This was my final visit. The people are very nice, but I still have a cut that is difficult to style and isn’t the most complimentary to my face or the quality of my hair. I really hate when stylists think they know better than you what looks best on you. Really wanted to give this place a better rating, but they honestly can’t cut fine thin hair or style it the way the customer asks, even with a photo.

I came here because of a Groupon. The price for the Groupon was very good, should have known that was a red-​flag.
The color in my hair did not turn out, so it needed to be fixed. I HAD TO PAY EXTRA FOR THEM TO FIX MY HAIR. If I chose not to, I would just have to get my stuff and walk out with the hair at it’s current state. While I am explaining to them that this is not fair, they tell me that it is basically my fault bc my hair is too dark, I’ve been getting my hair done this way for 20 years so I know what my hair can and cannot do, but to entertain their notion I say, if my hair is too dark and you knew this, then why didn’t you tell me about this possibility before now that I am sitting by the sink with my hair soaked and bleached in the wrong the color? Mind you I haven’t looked at a mirror yet, the stylist was the one that said… «Oh no. it came out bad.» Whaaat??? Also, she said I had to pay extra because I had a Groupon… she actually said it! The Groupon doesn’t cover what they had to do to FIX MY HAIR. No it doesn’t. But it is safe to assume that the business can do the task advertised in the Groupon correctly?
I would also like to add that the stylist was working on two people at this point. I really do believe that she was too busy and that’s why the mistake happened.
Fix your mistake, and don’t charge me extra for it. I came here to relax and enjoy myself knowing that when I walked out those doors I would look great. Not to argue and be worried about how your mistake will come out and be ripped off.
To give her credit: the stylist fixed it and she managed to do a good job with the color after all. Upon closer inspection at home I noticed a chunk of the hair on the nape of my neck was cut off at the root… maybe fried it and cut it off thinking I wouldn’t notice? That’s going to look great as it grows out.
Whatever you do don’t go there with a Groupon. I really believe they want to get you in there and then take more money from you somehow.

I saw something they were advertising on groupon which was for a cut, color and style for 59.00. I called the night before and left a message for me to get in ASAP since I was getting really bored with my hair. They called me around 9am to see if I could be there in an hour and a half. Hell yes!
So i show up and absolutely fell in love with Brittany! Shes AMAZING! I told her to do whatever she wanted as long as my hair was darker, a little over an hour later I had the richest hair, it was healthy and short! I love the cut that she did on my hair as well!
Im so happy that I was paired with her as a stylist, I refuse to go anywhere else from here on out!

I moved to Phoenix just a couple mths ago and had no idea how or where to find a hair stylist who is good at edgy cut n color. Had pizza at Barro’s, I saw this salon, stopped in n showed the young lady at the desk a picture n asked if they had a stylist that could handle something like it. She immediately said «Jessica». A couple weeks later I was online and noticed a groupon (it’s still there) I believe it’s cut, blow dry n style for $ 29 but there were other options. Yesterday I stopped in to make an appt. Jessica n I sat down n had a chat bout my hair, what I wanted, what she thought would work etc 100% professional even offered to do it that day. I was so excited I called and got in today. Not only is she amazing & creative, she has a great personality. My hair… I really have NO WORDS. I’ve been in the dumps since we moved… She made me feel like myself again. Love love love her, the salon and my hair. I highly recommend her, plus they offer free WINE and beer-​that was a plus. Tell Jessica Kristal sent u :0)

I received a color service which ended up being extremely far from what I had asked for, expected, and payed for. For starters, my hair is now orange with blonde high lights when I asked for a dark brown ombré. My stylist promptly scheduled me for a week later to fix my hair; I booked although hesitant. When I left the salon, I had much distaste considering I was leaving 5 hours later with unacceptable hair. I then called to correct the situation and was denied a refund and told that was against policy. They did however offer to fix my hair, but after one mess up I don’t think I’ll be back. Just irritated I have to spend twice as much as I already have to fix what they did.

This place gets 5 stars because of Lauren. She is an amazing stylist. She really listens to what you want, makes great suggestions and is just the sweetest person on earth. I would follow her anywhere.

I followed Brittany here so I could continue to get great hair care services. Once again I was NOT dissapointed. The location it’s self was easy to find, well taken care of and clean. While I did not interact with many other employees here, those I did talk to were also very nice.

I had my wedding hair and nails done at this salon as they are the closest salon to where I was getting ready (I have been going to this salon through its various owners for the past twenty years). Lauren was absolutely fantastic! She took the time to play around with my hair when I went in for just a haircut so that we were set on a style for the big day. She was relaxed and made great suggestions. She was very flexible and my hair turned out great. It lasted through the summer heat and looked fantastic in pictures. Terri did my nails and the (my first ever) gel manicure lasted through flower assembly and a hiking honeymoon. I was very impressed. Coming from NYC the nail prices are a bit high, but I think that is standard in this neighborhood. I had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend Lauren to anyone in the neighborhood!

I bought the groupon and tookba chance despite the reviews. Being a logical person, I could see all the negative reviews were based because people thoight they were getting a Hilton groupon for $ 29. That’s your bad folks!!! Read the fine print!
Anyhow my experience was fantastic start to finish and Lauren has a new client, for sure!

I have so conflicted with what to write about my experience. First of all, I must tell you that this salon is NOT associated with the Hilton resort. It is quite a bit down the road in a strip mall and only a family name. When I arrived, I was greeted by a heavyset woman wearing a dress that barely covered her butt. She is very unprofessional and seems unconcerned with me as a customer. I wait about 15 min and than asked if I wanted something to drink. I asked for some water and was given a small cup (why not bottled water?). I was never introduced to my stylist. I believe she may have said about ten words in the time I was in her seat. I asked for Carmel color highlights and she convinced me I wanted blond (I don’t think they offer any other color!). I am a redhead so I was a little hesitant, but I went ahead and went along. After all, when she said highlights I was thinking small streaks. As she begins doing highlights she is taking layers of hair instead of small strands and I am getting a bit worried. The stylist Maria seemed cold and our communication wasn’t very good. English wasn’t her first language. Over the time I was in the salon, I felt like I was in the middle of a reality show with the red neck manicurist yelling across the salon and constant arguments between staff the stylists. None of the stylists are dressed in the manner that you would expect professional people to be dressed. A stylist who appears to be the owner berated the front desk person and the front desk person yelled back at her and went to the front desk in tears. There is constant yelling in the salon between stylists. I have to almost yell to get the stylist attention after the blow dryer went off. I love the cut and the color, but the experience was like being in a three ring circus and the unprofessional behavior will cause me to never come back ! Groupon will refund money within 7 days so think about that before coming in. Best bet is to get the refund and go elsewhere!

I have thought that I’ve purchased a deal from the Hilton Hotel with all the spa amenities which this place really isn’t. It is off a strip mall just right next to the Hilton Hotel so when I’ve called to make an appointment and asked if they have any amenities that I can enjoy and they said that it is a Day Spa. The treatment room was so small and I had no place to put my belongings except on the floor. I know any woman would carry her purse with her and I don’t know why they didn’t give a locker or space for their customers. The facial was good and got sold for a $ 20 upgrade with detail look under the florescent lights to show details of my face which is a plus. Massage was a decent massage but still the disappointment of NOT getting a REAL SPA treatment with the hot tubs, steam, sauna, and cold plunges which I expected earned this place a true 3-​star rating after I thought I got a great deal. Probably WILL NOT return after a bait and switch experience.

Despite reading so many negative reviews, I purchased a groupon for a cut & style. I’ve been out of town for a few years and my former rad stylist from Choppers is killing it in Manhattan. Boo for me. Yay for discovering this place, with an incredible deal… which proves to be awesome when looking for someone who will potentially be a regular go-​to. I got super lucky as ‘Courtney’ had a cancellation today and ‘Tori’(front desk) was able to fit me in within a few hours notice. Courtney clearly knew her stuff. She listened to my request and absolutely nailed it. We discussed future visits and color options. I knew this wasn’t the «Hilton hotel spa», as if they’d have a $ 29 special… people, PLEASE! Visit websites before you purchase. Do your research. If you really take pride in your appearance and don’t bounce from place to place just because there’s a deal… it’s really a no-​brainer. And when you get a fantastic service for a ridiculously low price… remember what you would’ve spent and tip accordingly!!! Hair styling is an art form, something I never could do — I am really glad that I went against the reviews, though it seems the complaints are more of a personal nature than the actual service provided. For sure I will be returning… and of course will pay regular prices. If every cut I got was $ 29, I’d probably be spending more money on hats. Thanks, Courtney, you’re awesome!

Seriously. 19 months after my review, the owner posts a comment. 19 months!!! And, her comments are only excuses! Lousy business obviously run by someone with no business acumen. This only underscores my original review.

I followed Tabby here from another salon and will follow her wherever she goes! I get rock star toes and they are amazing. Tabby is a great nail tech and my toes always look fabulous. My toes take a beating from crossfit and the rock stars still look great. The salon is clean and every employee I have ever been in contact with is very nice. I never have any issues with making appointments and I love the text message appointment reminders.
Tabby herself would get 5 stars.

I have to say I was a little hesitant about using my Groupon here after reading the reviews. However I can honestly say I am glad I gave it a chance! My stylist Lauren was awesome. She gave me the exact look I was wanting while being very open about what would work best, look original etc. She had great customer service and really made the experience enjoyable. The salon and spa is very clean and the staff were all very professional. I recommend giving this Salon/​Spa a chance. It was very worth my time and money.

I have been through many hair stylists and can honestly say that every time I go to this salon and see Courtney it is a relaxing occasion with a professional that knows what she is doing and aims to please. I went to the salon for color and cut and had to leave without my cut because I had to run out on another appointment. Courtney felt so bad for something that was obviously not her fault and she made sure to fit me in within a couple of days. She is amazing. Also, I have had pedicures and manicures here and loved the experience. Further, I have also had a facial, massage and spray tan at this salon and enjoyed the experience. The only down side is that they are kind of pricey for pedicures and manicures but it is well worth it when they speak English. They book out because they are all great.

I followed Tabby here from J’Adore and First Impressions Salons. She’s still great! I will follow her wherever she goes! She does gel and acrylic nails as well as Rock Star nails. She also does hand painted nail art.
The salon is very nice, spacious, and clean. Everyone that I met there was very friendly. Tabby and the lady at the front desk worked with me to find the best appointment time for my schedule which was nice. They’re a full service salon but I haven’t tried out any of their other services yet.

3.5 Stars, probably would have been 4 if it weren’t for a few things that rubbed me the wrong way.
1. They are NOT affiliated with the Hilton which is just a few minutes down the road. The name misleads you.
2. They were A-​Holes when it came to booking our appointments. My sister and I both bought Groupons for the Shellac mani and pedi. Seriously, we had to book MONTHS ahead of time. They should either limit the amount of groupons they are going to sell if they don’t want to serve that many or just don’t do them at all.
3. This was my first time having a shellac mani. It turned out nice, though she didn’t put the polish all the way up to my cuticles so I have this weird white outline (my nails) around my color.
4. My technician did both my mani and pedi. she was nice and did a fine job. There was practically zero arm or leg massage.
5. The salon itself is very nice looking. Though the employees are very dressed down, my lady was wearing a freaken wife beater. Not very professional.
6. I would never go here and pay what they are asking for these two services, $ 95 for a Shellac mani and a basic pedicure is kinda outrageous!
I was satisfied with my service. My nails still look fantastic (minus the white outlines)

I have been to Compliments a few times over the years, mostly because anytime I would come into town to visit, my mother would take me to get pampered with massages and manicures, but also to see Janna, the hair guru of the year. I come from a family full of women who are very particular about their hair, myself included, so when the hair queen of the Fosters (my mom) recommended her, I had to go in to fix the mess that was created previously by the «hair artist» in Houston.
Janna is wonderful, she knows what she is doing and can certainly work a pair of shears. I would highly recommend her if you are looking for someone young and refreshing with good ideas. Their salon is more upscale, and they use Bumble & bumble and Epicuren products which are always great. The salon is super clean and everyone that works there is extremely friendly and helpful. They all have beverage service which is always a plus.
I’ve also had a massage by Beth who is AWESOME! Extremely profession and just a very good masseur. For nails, Debbie is great and definitely see Robyn for a facial. Their prices are typical for spa services, you can get a full listing of services an products on their website —
