This the second pool I’ve had serviced by Captain Clear over the last 3 years. In theory these guys are great. I was told my play pool would be vacuumed, filled, chemicals adjusted and skimmed weekly for a great rate. They send you texts to let you know when they are on the way and once they are done. I’ve had periods of issues before but we’ve reached a breaking point when I finally realized they don’t seem to actually service your pool. That great rate isn’t so great once you realize your just paying for someone to turn on your pool pump. This all finally became abundantly clear this weekend when my pool turned green, after it was just«serviced» on Tuesday. When I brought my water sample to my local pool store I had no chlorine(despite no one being in the pool for the last week) and my pool was acidic causing it to further damage the already troubled plaster lining. The nice guys at the pool store informed me that it appeared the chemicals in my pool had not been correctly adjusted for the last 3 – 4 weeks! They also left my pump running with low water in my pool which could have damaged my equipment. I’ve previously had issues with their billing when I was charged for 4 months of service in just 2 weeks. That took almost 2 weeks to reach their billing person, who seems to only work from 8– 11am, can’t be reached on the phone and sporadically returns calls. I’m ending the nightmare, or at least I’m leaving messages for someone to call me back so I can.

After our last service expected us to work for them apparently(constant complaining that we were not doing enough) we fired them and hired Captain Clear. So far they have been awesome. They do an amazing job every time, and so far at least, have not charged my anything for extra chemicals. My former company always had something else they wanted to charge me for. On top of all that, you can pay online, and check your test results online as well. Highly recommended.
