Bulwark Exterminating

The entire time we have used Bulwark, which is now years, I have yet to see a living bug in our house or garage! That’s what you want. On top of that, Adele is a caring technician who really wants everything to be perfect for you. Competent above all AND caring… what a combination!!!

Lance did a great job treating our home for scorpions! He was thorough and professional!

we had this company before and we stopped the service for two years and we had so many scorpions all last year. we started again and we love the customer service and knowledge of the technician.

So satisfied with Bulwark, today we had Chris Pâté here and we can always trust that there are no bug’s left behind, and if there is they will always come back to fix the problems, at no extra charge.

I really want to give these guys five stars again! I rarely see bugs that are alive in my house since I started using them in October 2014… but I have had some other issues which brought the rating down…
— «Unlimited Free Reservices» (used to be a 60-​day no-​bug guarantee if I remember correctly) can be a bit confusing (confirm that the follow-​up treatment is truly a «follow-​up treatment» so you don’t get charged again)
— Technicians have no-​showed on me twice (and no one seems to know to apologize for that inconvenience)
— Very difficult to get service scheduled between the window of 5pm and 8pm (I almost always have to speak with someone who has to check with someone else and verify with a dispatcher who will call me back to confirm availability… but often doesn’t.)
— I have to remind them of the guarantees listed on their website («Anti no-​show policy,» «Unlimited Free Reservices,» and «48-​hour callback policy»)

The service is really great — no contracts, just a rock-​solid commitment to having no pests in your home. And we are happy to stay for the long haul with such a great company and responsiveness to our calls. Bulwark has been servicing our property since my wife was pregnant and now we have a healthy 3-​month-​old baby, so friendly chemicals and expert application was a big thing for us. Pam McCubbin, our tech, is just awesome; she is super knowledgeable and a joy to see every month. We went from having a bad scorpion and ant infestation, to no activity.

I called this company after reading the Unilocal reviews, when I called they said they wouldn’t be able to get out until Friday. I explained to them that I have a 10 month old baby and I was finding scorpions in my home, although it was only one day sooner they came I’ve Thursday, and even a half hour BEFORE my window. They called me to see if it was okay and of course i was thrilled. John C. My tech was here explained everything he was using, what he was going to do and if I had any questions to ask him. He was very friendly and informative. I would highly recommend John and this company!

Honestly, all of these online reviews of Bulwark have always kind of weirded me out. They almost come off as mechanically written. The amount of reviews in comparison to other companies has always seemed largely disproportionate. I mean, is there some kind of perk to name-​dropping techs? I don’t know the name of the technicians that come to my house. We’re not buddies or go out and have beers on the weekend. They come, they spray, they leave. Period.
I’ve been using Bulwark since 2009 because I live in an area that has scorpions. I’m not going to sugar-​coat things. I had scorpions before I started using them and I still have scorpions now. They come every other month to spray with the option for free call-​backs, which I end up utilizing quite regularly in the summer time. In fact, one summer, after using them for two years straight, I was actually stung in bed by a scorpion! I jokingly call it the «Sixty Nine Dollar Sting» — as that’s basically what I pay every other month for them to rid my house of the little bastards.
I always call before their appointments to make sure they come inside and spray the interior, or else they’ll just do the outdoor perimeter. Not good enough for what they’re charging. The times that I have been home, the techs are usually only in my house for 10 minutes in a 1700 square foot home. They are in and out very quickly. When I questioned a customer service rep, he told me that it’s the amount of stuff that they use, not necessarily the amount of time they spend at each home that matters. The scorpions I spoke to seem to disagree.
Two years ago, after nearly stepping on a (very much alive) scorpion in the kitchen, I finally reached a breaking point and began questioning why I’m paying these people money when I’m still killing these things on a regular basis. When I attempted to cancel, they suggested that I use their special scorpion treatment that can only be given one time per year. I’m not sure why this wasn’t recommended to me, you know… 24 months ago? I now do this at the beginning of every summer. Does it help? I’m honestly not sure. I still end up killing anywhere between 5 and 15 scorpions per year regardless.
In the end, I’ve concluded that Bulwark never actually gets rid of the scorpions — they merely just reduce my kill count. Ultimately, it’s the cold weather that drives them temporarily away.
I continue to use them because I don’t want to deal with the hassle of experimenting with other companies. I do feel their prices are high, but I like the fact that I have free callback options, even if the fact that I have to use them so frequently is rather unsettling.
Mixed feelings on them.

Great service for 10 years! Never received anything other than top notch service from the phone staff all the way to the technicians servicing my home.

I did Google search and found this company. I then called and was treated with a high level of customer service from the phone all the way down to the service tech Evan Schmidt who did the work. Evan was prompt and courteous and very thorough with his work. I would recommend bulwark exterminating to all my family and friends.

Joshua R was the tech that came out today and he was very friendly and did a thorough job. I was very happy not only with him, but Bulwark as a whole. I have a 1 year agreement with them and so far from prior to their services to now we have not seen insects, bugs, etc in or outside our home.

I spoke with Spencer today who took the time to go over some of the issues that I had with scheduling and worked out the kinks and got me on a schedule that Taylor’s our needs.
Spencer is a very good employee and addresses the company’s morals of customer service!

I recently had my yard landscaped and wow did all the bugs come out. I went to look up an exterminator I had used previously but they had gone out of business. :(So I started a new search. I filled out an online request form on Wednesday, and got called back almost right away.
I work a later shift and it is hard for me to get time off, but they were willing to accommodate my schedule and scheduled someone for the morning before I go to work. (Today is Friday I was impressed with how quick they got me in)
This morning Spencer showed up, he was friendly and courteous. He was knowledgeable about what he was doing and after I showed him my problem areas in the yard he set right to work. He was even friendly to my two cats who were curious and concerned about what he was doing.
Today was the initial service and I have set up a monthly service moving forward.
