Come to us for all of your cycling needs — we carry everything for your cycling needs — from new bikes, cycling parts and accessories like pumps and pedals, and clothing such as shorts, shoes and jerseys. We have a reliable repair shop staffed by friendly and experienced mechanics along with all the parts and accessories you need to keep you and your bicycle safe and in great shape. Our goal is to provide a welcoming atmosphere where you can feel comfortable approaching our knowledgeable and friendly staff with any of your biking questions or concerns.

Bicycle Vibe opened in September 2010 and is quickly achieving its goal of becoming North Valley’s favorite neighborhood bike shop & coffee bar. Free wifi too!

We carry a wide variety of bikes, from family to road to mountain and hybrid bikes in between made by Trek, Cannondale and Serotta. Our full service repair shop can work on any bike, any problem. Come visit and see for yourself.

History

Established in 2010.

Burned out from running the rat race, and wishing for something that I could enjoy making a living at — I decided to take the plunge and fulfill the wish so many of us cyclists in Anthem & Tramonto had been lamenting for years — the need for a bike shop CLOSE BY! The idea for the coffee bar came about last summer while the Tour de France was taking place … when out with the group of riders we were alwyas wishing for a place to go watch the Tour and enjoy some of that delicious coffee we’re so fond of. So I had the brainstorm to put a coffee bar in the bike shop.

I wanted to create a different kind of bike shop, one with an atmosphere where everyone would feel welcome and comfortable asking any questions they might have. So I decided to quit my day job in software sales to open Bicycle Vibe and share my passion for cycling and all of the good that it has brought into my life. That passion infuses the vibe of Bicycle Vibe.

Amber worked in software for most of her career… several years as a technical trainer teaching Java programming and integration concepts and then she moved into the technical sales side of the business working as a Sales Engineer before quitting her job to open Bicycle Vibe in the summer of 2010.

Just read the other reviews about the big guy with a beard who had a bad attitude, Bob I think is his name. When I came back for a second visit to purchase a bike and asked if he would price match Bike Barn’s advertised price which was $ 40 less for the exact same bike, he got defensive and refused to do so. I was shocked that he wouldn’t come down to the price of his competition to make the sale, or at least offer a free tune up for another bike. Was hoping to make a deal at Bike Vibe and become a regular, but will not be returning any time soon.

Great Bike Shop.
I have continued to use Bicycle Vibe as my bike shop since a month after they opened.
I have purchased three bikes, two Trek 29er Mountain Bikes and a Giant 27.5 er Lady’s Mountain Bike for my wife.
Amber and Kevin have been a great help in advice and selection.
I have purchased many accessories, including a bike rack from Bicycle Vibe and was always treated great.
I have also had my bikes in for tune ups and repairs several times. Steve and Bob have been knowledgeable and detailed in their service.
I have referred friends who have also made purchases from them.
I would highly recommend Bicycle Vibe.

Needed a bolt for a handlebar stem that is over 10 years old — can you say obscure? Went in with the old bolt and wedge nut in hand. Mechanic reaches into the «old parts drawer» and voila! — the part I need. Out the door 10 minutes later with new part in hand for 10 bucks. 10 minutes, 10 bucks for a part I could have spent 2 hours of internet search is a bargain in my book. This is my third or fourth visit to the shop, and the staff is courteous, to the point and competent. What else could a guy ask for in a customer experience?

I am a total newbie. I picked up my 20 some year old aluminum Trek and started riding again. I happened to come upon This shop by accident because the tree hides the sign. I went in to ask a few questions about wrapping my handlebars. They gave several suggestions on what type of tape to get, etc and were very helpful. Went back in to get a helmet and found out that Kevin does Dynamic bike fittings. Since I wanted to get the right bike to fit me, I decided to sign up for a fitting.
Very detailed, very professional, explained everything. He puts you on a bike that can be adjusted everywhere until it looks, reads, and feels right. It took almost two hours, but I felt confident that the bike I would buy, with all of these specifications, was going to be perfect. It comes in soon, so am excited to try it out and start really riding again.
Just by how I was treated the three times I was in, I would highly recommend them. Mt Lemon here I come!

Been using bicycle vibe for years. I have purchased a total of six cycles from them over the years and always get great pricing and great service. Can’t say enough about supporting your local shop!
Their mechanic work is always top notch and can definitely get you taken care of with what you need. If there’s something that they don’t carry they will be more than happy to order it for you.

I have tried to make this my local bike shop as I live close by. But I will now travel to Sunday Bicycle Shop for service. The one large mechanic in the back is a nob. Couldn’t get off his stool to help me out. Seemed like too much work for him to get up and work. I like the owner and wish her luck as long as he is working the wrenches, I will be going some place else. What a shame as the north valley needs a good bike shop. With him gone I would give five stars.

I’m torn on this review…
Good: It’s 5 mins from my house, stock Trek and have a decent selection of supplies. The tech has given me bolts and lube for free when I was in a pinch. They did my service quickly and while I waited. They organize weekend rides that are close by, but no MTB rides that i know of.
Bad: I agree with some of the condescending attitude I get when asking about local trails, maintenance and newbie type questions.
The bad isn’t not enough for me to not shop there, but I don’t get a good feeling leaving there. Not like shopping at DNA or Flat Tire. I really want to support my local bike shop, but given they don’t stock Specialized and attitude I get, it’s only when needed.
I really wanted it to be better.

I’ve had work done here several times, mostly because it is close to home and work. Selection is decent and prices are very fair, but I just don’t think I can go back because of the attitude. Yesterday I went in asking about putting new tires on my bike, including selecting a different type, and the tech could barely be bothered to look up from what he was doing. No help, no questions about my bike or riding habits. I’ve had mixed experiences in the past, but I don’t think I want to deal with whatever mood they are in when I need something.

Bad Attitude — Well, that about sums it up. I moved out to the north valley in July of last year and thus far have spent $ 1900 at this shop. On two occasions I have had to deal with attitude from one of the bike mechanics there — big guy with the beard. I took my road bike in today to ask a question and the condescending mechanic only made fun of how old my bike is — yep, it’s a vintage 2003 model. Not the best bike in the world but it has been a great ride for 11 years. He also felt compelled to tell me «you really need a new bike but don’t worry it won’t make you any faster». Here’s the kicker, I did a race last weekend and decided I was going to upgrade before my next one in September. Sorry Bicycle Vibe, I’ll be taking the $ 4K I have for my new purchase elsewhere.
Why do people have to talk down to others? Did that really make him feel better? Not only did he have a chance to make a great sell and win a customer, he had a chance to be nice to another human being. Does it really matter how old your bike is? It would be so cool to have a nice bike shop here up north, without the attitude.
13 April 2015 Update — I found a great new bike shop in the North Valley. If you are looking for great customer service and a knowledgable staff checkout Sonoran Cycles at 38th Ave & Happy Valley Road. I had a great experience there today.

I have gone into Bicycle Vibe several times and each time have left with either the right information or service that I needed or the equipment I was looking for. The service guys here are especially knowledgeable about bikes and also have the right equipment to do pretty much anything requested. I recently took new forks into them to remove the lower retainer bearing cup, and they only charged $ 8 dollars to remove and install on the new set of forks; and it only took about 10 minutes to complete.
The bikes that they sell are all intended to provide riders with the right equipment rather than trying to pass off a cheep bicycle that will leave riders wanting to upgrade and spend more money.
This is definitely a local business that I will keep returning too and would recommend for family and friends. I would rate this store as five stars, except for the fact that one time I went in to purchase a bike, the service lady rather than paying attention to my questions; was interested more in disciplining my four year old son. Boys love bikes regardless of age and we all simply want to see how they work.

When the shop first opened I was ecstatic. FINALLY! A bike shop in the neighborhood that I could ride to and take care of all of my biking needs. At first the staff seemed friendly and helpful. My last two trips there proved otherwise. The mechanic was very rude and patronizing to me. Figuring I would give them a second chance I went back and bought a suspension pump from them. When it proved to be defective I returned it and the same mechanic so much as called me a liar. Never again bicycle vibe. I WILL NEVER AGAIN PATRONIZE YOUR STORE

The only vibe I get from this bicycle shop is a condescending, snobby, you’re wasting my time bullshit vibe. Techs seem bothered when you ask for assistance or advice. I’m saving up for a new bike and trying to keep my old one in working order in the meantime but all I get from them is attitude. Sorry vibe but I’ll be spending over 2k on a bike elsewhere.

Bought a 3k bike here because they had my size. Took it bake for a «complimentary tune up» and they just seemed to not have any real interest in me. It was llike I was wasting their time. The techs do not provide much guidance and basically treat you like you really are bothering them. Sad, it is a nice shop.

Bicycle Vibe is great. I came here to get a rim replaced and a tune up and the price was fair, great work, rewired my bike computer to look better for free and the coffee is good too. If you’re in the north Phoenix area, there is no need to look elsewhere for your bicycle needs.

I have been here on a few occasions. I had positive feelings in the past, however the most recent experience has left me with a feeling of mistrust and not like a valued customer.
My girlfriend and I both ride, and have purchased front and rear brakes for her bike as well as other various accessories from the shop. After about a year, the rear brake has gotten soft on her bike, and on mine as well. There is still a good amount of pad on them, but are really soft, so I wanted them bled. I do not have the tools to bleed them personally, hence my visit here. I was told they need new pads, and although I JUST put new pads on a few months back (metallic mind you), I was told by the shorter stockier mechanic that, «Some pads wear out in just one run back east.» It is CLEAR they are not worn out, but they aren’t brand new either.
Now, I am no moron, and I have my own two eyes, but there is a good amount of pad on them. Furthermore, when demonstrating the stiffness in shifting on my front gears, he assertively states in a condescending tone «Don’t do that. You will break things.»
Now, although he may be correct, there is no reason to talk down to me like that. I have never seen this guy before, and everyone else there has been much friendlier and approachable. Regardless of his intent, the staff should be appealing and charismatic, not stern and short (no pun intended).
I opted out to having work done on my bike, but after the repairs are done on her bike I will be looking for a bike shop, and recommending my friends elsewhere.

Get the feeling this place is for «bike snobs» as we are casual cyclists and have had three experiences in store with unfriendly staff. bought a couple things but get the feeling we aren’t serious enough cyclists to get the friendly treatment.
