«Experienced and Empowering women’s healthcare since 1981.» Beyond Conception Midwifery is owned and operated by Mary Henderson, LM CPM. We provide maternity care, home birth, waterbirth, well-​woman care, and childbirth education services. We believe in the normal physiological process of pregnancy, labor and birth and that childbirth is a transformative event. Through informed, supported choices women are encouraged to follow their own instincts and be active participants in the decision making and self care of their pregnancy, labor and birth experience. It is with great joy and honor that we accompany women and their families on one of life’s greatest journeys!

History

Established in 1981.

Mary Henderson BS, LM, CPM attended midwifery school in the late 1970s and was licensed by the state of Arizona in 1981. She has gone on to train over 14 other midwives, develop a well respected midwifery practice, and raise 5 children of her own. In 2010 Mary hired Jenny Schultz and Amy Smith as midwifery assistants and in 2013 they joined the practice as midwives. Mary, Jenny and Amy enjoy working together as a dynamic team and love every day they get to spend with women, babies, and families!

Mary, Jenny and Amy are a dynamic team, woman centered and focused on empowering and supporting women through all aspects of their reproductive journeys.

As a team of Certified Professional Midwives, the care you receive at Beyond Conception Midwives is unsurpassed. Each midwife is trained and certified in the Midwives Model of Care and dedicated to supporting women maintain healthy pregnancies and empower them to have optimal births and postpartum recoveries. As midwives they provide individualized care including all aspects of their their emotional, physical and spiritual and cultural needs.
