Whatever you do, don’t let these people pack your house. Our loaders and unloaders were awesome, but the packers were abysmal. FIrst, of all, they didn’t bother sending anyone to inventory the house. The person who was supposed to be there called and did the inventory on the phone. My husband and I have moved six times, so we knew how much stuff we had. We told them it would take two days to pack. The packers showed up on Monday morning and were immediately pissed off because in spite of what we told them, they were assuming they could do it in one day. It got even worse from there because the guy driving the truck with the boxes and paper didn’t show up until three hours later(even though he started out before them). There were five people in the packing crew, including the crew leader’s wife, who had apparently never packed anyone before. To give you an idea how useless she was, she didn’t have a knife with her, so she helped herself to one of my steak knives to cut the corners of the boxes. They weren’t done on the first day, so they left early so they could«buy underwear and stuff» so they could spend the night at a motel. The next day, it was obvious they just wanted to get out of there. They asked questions like«do you want the bathrooms packed?» The wife packed my bathroom, and she threw everything from my cabinet into a box as unpackable. I expected to find things like cough syrup in there, but she put in brushes, combs, ibuprofen. Ridiculous. As they were leaving, we asked them to leave boxes so we could pack up items they’d left unpacked. One guy left boxes; another went through and picked them all up. That made it hard because they had used all the boxes I had bought myself while they were waiting for the truck driver to get there. Since it was an hour’s drive to get more boxes and we were exhausted, we didn’t go get more. After the truck was packed, my husband got no fewer than five calls asking him to rate the packing crew. He said he couldn’t answer until we unpacked the boxes. They stopped calling after our stuff was delivered. When our items were delivered(that crew was great), we were in for a huge shock. Masses of stuff was dumped into boxes and sealed up… no paper, no anything. To say that they had zero respect for our household goods would be a huge understatement. I had a Stetson straw hat I bought in Tombstone, Arizona. It was smashed into the top of a box before it was sealed up. Our washing machine wasn’t bolted, lamps were thrown into boxes on their sides with no protection. I have cried over and over as I opened boxes. As I said, my husband and I have moved a lot because of his work. This is BYFAR the worst move we have had. Not only would I not recommend Berger Allied to pack your home, I would tell you to run as far away as you can.
