Dr. Barry Fernando attended the University of Arizona, where he majored in chemistry with a minor in Mathematics and Physics. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magma Cum Lauda. He attended the UofA College of Medicine where he graduated in 1981. His postgraduate training encompassed seven years of surgical residency training including a General Surgery residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix. He completed his Plastic Surgery residency at the prestigious Washington University Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Fernando received additional training in Miami, Florida with an internationally renowned plastic surgeon who specializes in Cosmetic Surgery. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons, the Arizona Society of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons, the Maricopa Medical Society, and the Maricopa Plastic Surgery Society.
