A&D Barber Shop

First time coming here and I received the best service and haircut! My barber’s name was Yuri and he was very clean and professional when giving me a cut. This shop is way better now that the old owner has left. I am glad that I found my new barber!

Stumbled upon this place while having lunch at cherry blossom and luckily I got in pretty quick. The guy doing my hair did a great job and did it exactly how I liked it! Great cut, razor shave my neck, and a hot towel finish for $ 19 bucks. Can’t beat that! I’ll be back for sure.

Was in the neighborhood and decided to get a haircut. I am glad I took the chance on this barber shop. I was not overwhelmed by useless chit-​chat and, most of all, I got the cut I asked for. After the cut, I got a warm shave followed by a hot towel on my head and face. The haircut looks and feels great and the price was reasonable. I happily over tipped. Seems that most barber shops have women cutting hair and women getting hair cuts, this place is not that place — a true man’s barber.

This barbershop is a professional setting with friendly staff. The location is modern and trendy and the barbers all take pride in their work. They do a great job on my husband and they offer a massage after the haircut.

This is the second time I have gone it to get my beard trimmed. I did not have to wait a long time and I am happy with the way it looks. My only issue is that they speak Russian and you know they are talking shit about the customers. Lol

Can’t beat the hot towel and back messages with cut for only $ 19. Been coming here since I moved to AZ, always a great cut, feeling good even a week after. Barishe offers the greatest service make sure you ur him up.

i got a haircut for me and my son yesterday there and it was awful. i get a simple fade with a lineup, the fade was ok but the line up was awful the barber pushed my line about an inch back to where i could see my tan line and then he actually thought he did a good job. My son got cut also and his lineup was even worse and his line where the barbershop used a straight rasor on him was a little bloody from being lined up. EFFFIN awful just a warning: awful barber if you want a little off the top and a shave then prob this is the place but DO NOT GET A LINE UP here… i visit out of state from time to time and this is def the worst place to get a haircut in phoenix.

DONT COME to this Barber if you want the following:
1) Good customer service
2) Good value for the money
3) Good attitude, a smile, professionals that make you feel welcome
4) Decent TV programming while you wait.
5) Appointments kept on time.
6) Chairs and floors cleaned from previous customers
7) Clean bathrooms
8) Nice easy and pleasent hair cut experience… in other words, not being man handled and felt like your a test subject and the guy cutting your hair is in training.
9) Appropriate conversastion between employees.
10) No interuptions, like personal phone calls ect.
11) Warm towel and massage.
12) Shampoo before or after
13) Feel clean after you leave
14) Have your tips appreciated even if its 20%
15) A refund policy without an argument for defective merchandise
16) High pressure sales environment
17) A pleasent clean smell. In other words not the smell of a dirty GYM
18) Feel like your welcome
Whatever you do, dont give them your personal information. I personally recieved a screaming phone call from the owner very upset I left after scheduling two appointments on the same day. The barber no-​showed on my first appointment and then called me and told me to be ther in 20 minutes… I showed and made me wait 45 before I became upset and left. Then he called me screaming inappropriate things acting in a totally unprofessional manner

Let’s make one thing clear, I LOVE barber shops. A good haircut is second to none. As the saying goes, «you’re only as good as your last haircut.» What’s really nice about A&D Barber Shop is that your cut will be phenomenal, because Arthur takes his time with a cut. I’ve been plenty of barber shops that can give you your cut and sweep you out the door, but it isn’t always to my standards. I get a super high and tight fade to skin with a very severe side part, and almost no length taken off the top. It’s a more difficult cut than your normal taper and fade. And lots of barbers have botched it. Arthur tackles it no problem. We socialize the entire time and he couldn’t be friendlier. There are complaints about wait time, but it’s a barber shop. Wait time happens. And scheduling appointments at barber shops isn’t like making a set-​in-​stone appointment at a salon. Realistic expectations are your best bet, you can always call ahead to see what the wait is like! All in all, I get great haircuts from here and enjoy the time I’m getting them cut. Also, splurge and get the whole nine yards. A gentleman’s delight.

In my opinion, A&D’s — at Camelback — is the best barbershop in the Phoenix area. Usually, appointments are preferred by the barbers, that’s how i can get in and out quickly and happy. However, they accept walk-​ins — with minimal wait times. A regular haircut is $ 19.00. A&D also has kids and senior prices, at $ 15 and $ 17, respectively.
I enjoy the large LCD’s they have at each station. Makes my cut go by smoothly. Also, the hot towels and quick massages are nice. I choose Arthur my barber Every-​time.

Don’t come here if you want to be greeted by a warm and friendly staff or actually want to receive the haircut that you asked for.
I had my hopes up coming here. I’ve had poor experiences with one of their competitors (also a Russian barbershop– language problems, bad customer service) and was hoping this one would be a little better. Needless to say, my hopes were let down.
When it was my turn, the barber sort of made a grunt and I guess that was my cue to sit in the chair. Really friendly. I told him exactly what I wanted and was very specific, even showed him a PICTURE and told him what I did not want.
This did not matter. He proceeded to give me a taper (what I asked him not to do– it wasn’t even pictured in the image I showed him) and basically butchered my hair and the end result was nothing like the picture. This is not a very hard haircut, mind you. I’m not even able to say it was a language barrier that prevented him from giving me the haircut that I asked for considering I put it right in front of his face. It’s just a simple case of being incompetent.
He used no scissors on my hair (I am white and I do not have short hair). I’m sorry, but any barber that does not feel comfortable using scissors should not call themselves a barber. The whole time, I was faced AWAY from the mirror. I was faced towards a TV that was drowned out by another TV playing Russian programming. Thanks. Didn’t really appreciate that.
Best part– he CUT my neck with the clippers (in the middle of giving me this super sweet taper that I asked him not to do). I am still left with cut marks 2 days later.
I beg any of you that is reading this review to avoid this shop. I honestly can’t see why anyone would pay money to receive inferior customer service and not even get a good haircut out of it. It saddens me that places like this flourish while people are under the illusion that it’s a quality barbershop just because they have curtains and TVs.

Sometimes there is a little wait but it worth every second.
They are professional, courteous and make sure you walk out of there in tip top shape.
I have never had a bad experience with them and recommend family and friends all the time!

I have been to EVERY barbershop in central Phoenix and NOBODY can cut a fade like Arthur (the shop owner). I have lived in this area for the past 4 years and get my haircut every 2 weeks. I know all they barbers in all the shops and they all know each other as well. I went to the others because they were cheaper and there was a wait to sit in Arthur’s chair. I was cheap and impatient and my results were less than dazzling hair cuts. I’m not saying they were all bad but no one comes close to having the skills of this man here at this shop.
ps these guys work six days a week! give em a break for being closed on national holidays as well as traditional jewish holidays.

After reading all of the great a lot of discussion in Unilocal,and in need of a new barber in central Phoenix, I decided to give A&D a shot.
Frequent conversation in Russian and the constant drone of Middle Easterny sounding lounge music greeted me at the door. Pleasant enough place inside — comfortable chairs, TVs galore (on mute), and the standard pile of magazines. I waited half an hour for a walk-​in cut — not bad.
My barber was attentive and methodical — taking his time. I had the taller, baldish, ex-​military looking guy. I think he was the best of the group that I saw. My cut turned out pretty good — not the best, not the worst. I guess with all of the hype from the previous reviews, I expected a little more. But all in all — I got an A-​OK haircut at an A-​OK price.

A man’s dream come true!
I don’t typically go to barber shops as I am from the Dallas area and finding a barber is quite difficult. I walked into A&D and was overwhelmed by the atmosphere.
I enjoyed watching television while Paul cut my hair. I use a number one blade with no guard. Finding someone who can fade-​in a number one blade without leaving a noticeable line is extremely difficult. Paul did an amazing job!!!
In addition, to my haircut, I got a massage on my back with an electronic massager, a warm towel, and a hand blade cut around my neck and ear area. This place is amazing and reasonably priced for the level of service provided. I was impressed and tipped the barber excessively.
I wish this business was in my hometown. I will have to find a way to come to Phoenix just to get a haircut!!!
Kudos to the staff at A&D!!!

Wish I could echo the sentiment of the others who received great services from here, but after waiting for an hour on Friday at 3 in the afternoon for a trim, Ill have to pass and go back to V’s. At the very least, they understand the concert of supply/​demand. If its friday, hey, maybe we should have more than 2 barbers. Just a thought A&D.
Congrats to the others who got service here, there was no way in hell I am waiting over an hour to get my hair cut.

Best spot hands down for a cut and a shave! I have been going to A&D since I moved to the valley… its been years.
Its always Top notch service at A&D. Its a great business and they always gets me in and out. I also have never… never had a bad cut. I can not say that for other places that I tried before finding A&D. No need for an appointment… walk ins all good. The barbers are cool, the décor is top notch with personal tv at your chair, and you get what you pay for.

A&D is great; open on Sundays — so, now I wait until Sundays to get my haircut; have been going there about 6 months now; even bought a Gift Certificate for the holidays for one of my friends.
UPDATE: went there today; got in as soon as I walked in; got in & out in about 30 minutes.

My mother is a hairdresser and when she doesn’t have time to schedule a cut, I go directly to A&D. I can always get right in and the haircut is always just how I like it.

A&D is a cool guys barber shop dream and the only place I go to tame my wild hairs. Art runs a tight operation and all the barbers are up to speed on the latest techniques. As Glaucus said, they can tackle any razor, scissor, or e-​shaver cut you need with meticulous execution and these guys are cool & genuine to-​boot.
My barber Boris was just off his shift and headed out the door when he saw me drive up. He was waiting for me at his station when I walked in. Where does anyone get service like that these days? Well at A&D that’s where.
So what does a $ 19 haircut get you? A top notch barber, a beer, flat screens showing sports and action packed movies, a killer cut, razor clean-​up w/​lather, scalp & shoulder massage, a steam towel on the face, and a gelled style. It’s a tad more than the chain chop shops but hell fellas we’re worth it!
So give it a go, I’m sure you’ll be happy you did.
