History
Established in 1976.
Women Against Abuse began as a telephone hotline in a women’s center. Ever since, WAA has emerged as Philadelphia’s largest domestic violence agency, providing a unique range of comprehensive and compassionate services. Direct services include emergency shelter, transitional housing, legal services and behavioral healthcare. In addition, WAA believes in the importance of making broader community impact through advocacy and education initiatives.
