Witness To Innocence

It is doubtful that even the most Draconian and right-​wing among us would want to see a person put to death for a crime they did not commit. An innocent man can’t be resurrected when his guilt is disproven after death.
It is also hard to dispute the racial and class biases that govern how the death penalty is meted out. More than half of Death Row’s population is black or brown. 95% of that same population is poor.
The electric chair does not bring back murdered loved ones.
Lethal injection is not a deterrent to those who kill.
Execution is more costly than life imprisonment.
Peruse Witness To Innocence’s website, read accounts from those who have been exonerated while on Death Row, and reconsider the idea of vengeance, especially that which is carried out by the state.
